If you wouldn't call Rayman 3 the worst game ever made because of the commercial where Rayman pisses in the snow, you also shouldn't rank the Smash DLCs by how much you like their commercials.

Me, someone who grew up with (and still to an extent has) a hyperfixation on 80s/90s kid-culture, watching the "le adult cartoon... is watched by le children?" discourse play out.
I find it funny how, on virtue of featuring so many non-action cartoons, NASB is probably the only fighting game series where neutral-aligned characters outweigh the amount of villainous ones, and might even outweigh the amount of heroes depending on whether you count characters like SpongeBob who on average just kinda do normal stuff, but occasionally take on a heroic role in a 2-parter episode or movie, as heroes.
It's absolutely impossible they were thinking this far ahead, but I really like how - in the modern age where retro games are typically discovered by new players in a format where they only have either a box art or a title to go off of - Donkey Kong '94 can actually work as a bait-and-switch.
It is really a right shame that Nintendo arguably has the best library of weird rando characters and IPs to dig through of any of the brands making IP crossover platform fighters, but plays it so safe and people-pleasy with its platform fighter that Duck Hunt and Piranha Plant are considered "joke picks"
It's weird how a lot of people will say "NASB1 tried too hard to appeal to adults", but then criticise the game for having smaller movesets; overly offense-based gameplay; and two-flickies moves.

I think the Cheetahmen are pretty epic, but making their catchphrase "Livin' large!" instead of "Cheetahs always prosper!" was a massive missed opportunity.
It's kinda hilarious in a pathetic way how a lot of internet people who try to argue that they're "the NORMAL ones" aren't actually very normal if you step off of the internet for once. From my experience, almost everyone in the real world is pro-trans/enby, pro-ace/aro, pro-furry, pro-goth, pro-polyamory, pro-piracy, pro-dyed hair, pro-Disney adult, e.t.c. - name a minority group, hobby, victimless crime, method of self-expression, fandom, e.t.c.; and the normal layman can probably get behind it. Maybe I'm just lucky, I don't know.

How the hell did the Game Boy Camera garner a reputation as "creepy"? Like, I really don't get it. I was a timid kid, bought a GB Camera without context of its reputation, WAYRF only made jump a little and then I was immediately trying to get it again because it was funny, and that's basically the only thing that could be considered even slightly unsettling in the entire software - a jumpscare, a party trick. Otherwise it's more like a non-game WarioWare precursor. The very vast majority of it looks like this:
