The PSP I got is still coming in the mail and I feel a weird thing where I’m interested to try the PSP versions of some sony games I’ve never actually had any interest in before. Like I’ve never been that interested in series like ratchet and clank or jak and daxter but kinda want to try their PSP entries even though I’ve heard they aren’t as conventionally good as the PS2 entries. Same with twisted metal head on which was one of two games I got for it.

From my understanding when a character has one line they say in English in an anime it’s usually supposed to draw attention to the line in a cringey way and that’s not really possible in an English localization where the characters speak the language the whole time. Therefore I propose English dubs preserve this feeling by having characters say stereotypically white phrases. In conclusion, make Joseph Joestar say “golly gee wilikers”

I’m compiling a playlist of my favourite videos this year as I see them and as they come out but the weird part is that I don’t want one channel to be over represented and there are some channels that have good videos that I don’t want to include because the channel will probably top them later. An example is the new Defunctland video. It’s good and deserves to be on the list but he’s almost certainly going to make a video that’s better so I don’t know if I should actually include it or not because it might not be his “best”

Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star is like the Forrest Gump of Japanese game development history. I mean the Fist of the North Star license was one of Yuji Naka’s first games, an ArcSys fighter, a Dynasty Warriors spin-off, a Yakuza game, and pretty much a gimmicky Nintendo game. That’s a good number of bases covered there.

Dark Souls was originally called Dark Race and obviously that’s a really unfortunate title but also I feel like it was intentional since in the lore, the person who bound humans to the darkness was called the “furtive pygmy”

granted I hope it wasn’t intentional because that’s even more unfortunate but it might have been I suppose

I went to the arcade yesterday with two of my little cousins and I thought a song playing from one of the machines sounded familiar. Then I realized it was the Final Fantasy Chocobo theme. I didn’t see any Final Fantasy or Square Enix branding on it so I thought “huh, weird” and decided to look it up later. Turns out the machine just plagiarizes the song and I find that hilarious

The Rare thing from the partner showcase would be way more of a surprise if they weren’t already adding Rare games to the service semi-regularly now. I thought they would at least have perfect dark or something, that could have been a big surprise but nope it was just the usual dripfeed slightly faster

Madame Web contains a part where a character doesn’t understand a thing someone says and makes them repeat it. It wasn’t a plot relevant thing it just had no reason to be in there. I think that’s a good representation of the movie to be honest.
