I know Namco x Capcom has a counter-attack button when an enemy attacks you (or vice-versa), but I would’ve also liked to see a reversal system where, if you counter an enemy, you can immediately attack with your normal moveset. Think of it as something similar to how Project X Zone 2 handles counter-attacks.

In Chapter 28 of Namco x Capcom, the party are placed under a spell that forces them to make puns, and only the non-human characters are unaffected. Im honestly kind of sad this didn’t return for either Project X Zone game, since Gemini from Sakura Wars (a party member in both games) is a character who loves to make puns.

For as monotonous as the gameplay can be as a whole, I can say that I at least prefer Project X Zone 2’s combat system to Project X Zone 1’s combat system. Makes me wish the duology got a rerelease on Switch where PxZ2’s combat system is used across both games.
