Fun little concept I thought of for Luigi - Forward tilt has him pull out the Strobulb and quickly flash it as a paralyzing move. Would have low damage/knockback, but would be great for setting up grabs.

I probably wouldn't implement this unless tilts got custom moves or we were going full Luigi's Mansion with his moveset (which is an approach I wouldn't take, admitedly), but I think it'd be a cool tool for him to have.

Going off a conversation in the Unpopular Smash Opinions thread, I think I'd make a Smash set for Dr. Cortex lean more into the pitiful, almost pathetic nature of the character, as that's what makes him stand out among gaming's trove of evil scientists. Give him a panicked rapid jab where he desperately flails his arms at the target, have his dash attack him tripping over and hitting people with his noggin, that sort of thing.

Of course he'd have his inventions, but you really need Cortex's personality to get involved to truly capture the character.

I think Link is a solid design as a composite version of the character (which IMO is the way he should be rather than scrambling to reflect the latest Zelda game), but if I had to incorporate more BOTW/TOTK elements, I have two ideas that I think could work without compromising Link's archetype or any of his moves.

Ultrahand would make for a nice long-range, non-tether grab like Pac-Man's. Easy-peasy; Wouldn't even need to change the throws, really.
Fusing was a little more tricky, but I found a way. When Link is holding one of his Remote Bombs, he can fuse it to another weapon through another special input. Neutral Special becomes a Bomb Arrow (less range/more startlag for a stronger explosive hit), for example.

I'd honestly give stuff like the Sheikah Slate abilities to Zelda, since I think her being the "Wisdom" of the Triforce Trio suits a cerebral character better, and most of the Sheikah stuff is inherently more cerebral.

I decided to do something silly and make a Waluigi moveset... exclusively using moves already used by other characters. Visual/small tweaks are fine, but major deviations are a no-go. (It should go without saying this is FAR from my ideal Waluigi set; Just a fun thought experiment.)

Jab: Snake
Dash Attack: Corrin (mainly chose this one for the parallels to Luigi Missile, heh)
Forward Tilt: Fox
Up Tilt: Terry
Down Tilt: Cloud
Forward Smash: Peach (always uses tennis racket)
Up Smash: Steve (uses a Dice Block and punches it)
Down Smash: Luigi
Neutral Air: Bayonetta
Forward Air: Snake
Back Air: Luigi
Up Air: Luigi
Down Air: Lucas (no PSI effect)
Grab: the one basic "two hand" grab basically every fighter uses lmao
