This guy is walking testosterone, and proudly sings about he is an affront to god, but all you see him do in the song is harmless children's playground pranks. It is just the perfect comedic dissonance - I'm sure this is all just for intentional comedic effect and he does much worse things in the actual episodes (IIRC he was a poacher? I believe I saw the Long Lost Lyman episode he was in on Boomerang as a kid, I distinctly the only reason I didn't change the channel being that I knew about the Lyman character beforehand and was genuinely invested in his disappearance)

I think Brawl is the start of Smash's dark age and easily the worst installment, but also generally has more in common with the 2 HAL games than the Namco games.
The new Twitter logo looks 2000s in all the worst ways.
Yoshi's Story is a woefully flawed game, Yoshi's moveset from Island is, IMO, too complex to work in a beginner's game; the save system is somehow worse than even Crash 1; you spend most of your time being bumped around uncontrollably; it's impossible to play every level in a single playthrough; and it had a rather negative effect on the perception of 2D games at the time of its release (not that that last one was its fault, but still), but it's also a game I can't bring myself to even dislike, let alone hate - mostly because it was the first game I ever beat, but also because the artistry of the game's visuals is just incredible, and I appreciate how it continued the experimentation of Island, even if not to nearly as good an effect. I'd also argue that it has one of the best endings in a Nintendo game.

Even if the Nazis were actually socialist (which they weren't), that wouldn't really prove anything about socialism because that's not the reason people hate the Nazis.
This is genuinely one of the most surreal gaming advertisements ever - not because it has weird imagery or little to do with the source material it's advertising, it's a very typical 2010s-parody-of-90s-infomercials, fitting for a game filled with 90s characters, but just because I don't get why they would make a trailer for these dinky little alt costumes, especially when VA and items were just randomly shadow-dropped on Twitter.

I imagine that the themed wheels in DriDim are animated to spin a lot slower than generic wheels, though this doesn't effect car stats.

I feel like Smash's stage selection is simultaneously its biggest (possibly even only) edge over other platform fighters, but also its biggest disadvantage against traditional fighters. - like, on one hand, casual based Smash stages have way more fun layouts than casual based stages in other platform fighters, which tend to feel like an afterthought (and, well, they are most of the time!) - but on the other hand, Smash stages are usually really dull to look at, and and tend to lack a lot of eyecatching elements and setpieces, especially in the omega forms, which tend to outright remove the original casual form platforms instead of shifting them to the back as setpieces.
Compare Fighting Climax GHZ to Smash GHZ and it's pretty clear which one wins out visually - it's all the same elements from STH1, and even a very similar placement, but one is just more fun for the eyes to dart around and observe.
I can't believe pirated movies are so normalized nowadays! Permanent marker DVDs back in the day would either be so loud they'd send you flying out the room or so quiet you'd need to set the TV to max.
In the UK, we have school uniforms - they aren't enforced, but they're still there and generally followed - so the concept of dress codes is frankly horrific to me. Schools will just have signs outside that read "DRESS CODE: do not wear..." and then just list off every single clothing item popular with non-white cultures? What the ****?????

Protagonist-first roster selections, even the perfectly reasonable ones out-universe, are kinda funny from a diegetic perspective. Imagine if you were a powerful witch, mad scientist, or prodigal martial artist and the lazy boss from your game development side hustle was invited to prestigious fight club.
I like it when my films, TV, and games are "insincere" and just mock me for liking it. I think it's funny.
I like how you can tell that the Gex rerelease trailer was scripted right when all the GoldenEye rumours were going around, but those got resolved before they finished it.
If I was to do another creation thread, I think I might do another Smash thread, but with a laser focus on stages, since that was basically the main draw of both SMSB and EAC.
Whenever I see solo Luma on a Mario game roster, I can always respect it. I wouldn't play as it, but I have a deep respect for the choice to include it.
I actually really like what I've seen from Arzette so far beyond the novelty factor - it feels like they very carefully chose which flaws are endearing and which flaws are detrimental (notice how you can actually tell which parts of the stages are tangible), and didn't completely forget that the CDi games did have redeeming qualities.
I find the inclusions of Shredder and April specifically in NASB really funny for some reason - I can't put my finger on it, I don't think they're bad picks; I'm used to TMNT being a Nick brand; Shredder's battle abilities here are some of the tamest he's ever had; and I don't find the other two turtles' exclusion particularly funny, but there's something kinda humourous about seeing these two characters specifically stand next to Nicktoon C-listers like Jenny and Oblina that I don't really get from the main turtles and Garfield.
I'm surprised by how recent the submissions for DriDim's preschool job were - I was expecting there to be more of a nostalgia emphasis. -
