I think my most wanted item for Smash is either the Yoshi version of Fuzzy (not sure what it'd do, maybe a replacement for the Deku Nut or a more/less powerful variant of the Ramblin' Evil Mushroom?) or an NSMB blue Mini Mushroom that buffs users' mobility instead of being a bait-and-switch.

On the topic of the whole "Nintendo all-star"/"Celebration of gaming" divide, It's weird to me that Smash fans tend to overlook Ryu's connections to Nintendo - like, the whole thing in the 90s was "Sega does Mortal Kombat better, Nintendo does Street Fighter better", I guess I can understand if you're not familiar with 90s marketing, but surely a good chunk of the Nintendo All-Stars fans would be 90s kids?

I find it funny how fans of the 2000s Sonic games will complain about the 2010s games and certain 90s media having a "childish aesthetic" - like, I know what they mean and I guess it's valid even if I prefer my hedgehogs more snarky and silly, but is a DBZ/Naruto-style shonen anime tone/theming not itself a childish aesthetic?

It's really weird how casual reviews of Smash games, positive or negative, almost never touch on the mechanics. Like, with any other series or genre even the most story/content/aesthetic-minded of reviewers will discuss the vague game feel and some elements of balancing, but you never get that with Smash.

Since I posted about it yesterday, I should mention that the sequel to Don't Copy That Floppy, made to cash in on it's meme popularity, is hella messed up - it shows a teenager's completely innocent parent get falsely thrown into prison because her daughter pirated movies, and then another teenager getting abused in prison (well, not really, moreso people playing ring-a-ring-a-roses using mops around him) - hmm, I don't think piracy is the pressing issue we should be tackling here. Don't Copy 2 doesn't even explain the effects of piracy like Don't Copy 1, as fallacious as a lot of it's points was, tried to.

Also, it just isn't as catchy as the original.

For how much he hyped it up as "his most insightful review yet", Saberspark's Balto video was really disappointing IMO - the info on the real Balto was fascinating and I enjoyed his insight on the first film, but once he got into the second film he just started doing the standard angry reviewer shtick, with all the historical info on the sequels' production being speculative.

The popularity of Gir from Invader Zim is so surreal to me. Like, imagine if SpongeBob was cancelled after a season and a half of terrible ratings, but GIFs of Squidward became so popular with grumpy atheists on MySpace that Nickelodeon just started pumping out Squidward kigurumis and "I Really Wish I Wasn't Here Right Now" buttons without making any new content.
