I think that mini-franchises should get the "flexible content ratios" that main franchises get in DriDim. There are a lot of things that can fit as mini-franchises, but either don't have enough stuff for all of the types of content or have the opposite problem where they're perfect for going all in on one type of content but have to cram in the others.

I like how that one Blur commercial implies that there was always a big photorealistic cyberpunk city literally right next to this cutesy race track. Is this supposed to be an actual single video game that actual video game designers made in-universe and decided to design it like that for whatever reason? Is this like a Wreck-It-Ralph situation and these are two separate games? Is this not supposed to be a video game in-universe at all and these two wild extremes are somehow part of the same world? I love overthinking these kinds of things.

The Wario series actually seems more "beginner-friendly" than the Mario series.

Mario can only take about 1 or 2 hits while Wario can either take a lot more or is literally invincible.
In Mario games, the camera is usually zoomed out, meaning that there's usually a lot more stuff going on in the screen. In Wario games, the camera is zoomed in more, getting rid of this problem.
Stomping on enemies to defeat them can be difficult, you're trying to hit a moving target with yourself, and just a little slip-up in the wrong place can mean a game over. But in Wario game's you just have to face the enemy and press shoulder bash.

I think Bandai Namco should bring the Point Blank series back to home consoles, starting with the Switch, and possibly PC via Steam, and how they could do it is that they could remaster/remake the Point Blank trilogy. Oh, and maybe they could also remaster/remake Time Crisis 1 & 2.

haha bowser gets put in a jar lmao. Okay anyway now that that's out of the way...
Bowser was waaaay too evil for my tastes. I just can't see him executing all of those prisoners in the wedding for instance. Like some villainy was to be expected of course, but he just has too much in my eyes.
Speaking of Bowser, the full version of Peaches should have been in the movie and not just a credits scene. On the topic of music, I feel like I would have probably preferred the original soundtrack that was composed to the pop songs the movie uses.
I found Lumalee a little annoying tbh, but I feel like giving him a more necessary role in the story would've helped. Right now he's just... there. I do think it's cool that they got a really minor character from Mario Galaxy though.
I don't know what Mario was thinking when he saw the pipe when he was being chased by the Banzai Bill. Was he really going to try and send a missile that has the power to destroy a castle into the sewers of Brooklyn?
Peach looks really off. I also kinda hate her voice. It feels like they found a stock voice pack that happened to just coincidentally have every single line Peach has in the script and just used that.
Why did they advertise Foreman Spike in the initial cast reveal? He's barely in the movie. At first I thought he was gonna help fight in the final battle or something, but admittedly he didn't really earn a moment like that in his arc.
Luigi was underutilized. He barely has an arc to speak of. At first I thought there would be a subplot where he escapes from Bowser's Castle as a reference to Luigi's Mansion but no.
On the topic of characters, I feel like some characters such as Daisy, Rosalina, Bowser Jr. and the other Koopalings, and some specieses such as boos and lakitus were robbed. Many don't even get as much as a cameo. While Daisy and Rosalina would make Peach noticing Mario was another human, their rarity would still make him special.
I feel like the tone was a little too dramatic. While I would call it lighthearted, I could've used more wacky comedic energy than the dramatic adventure it goes for. I feel like part of this is that the stakes are too high and they're handled like they're high. The stakes could be in a comedic story, but I feel there should've been much more comedic moments. Though I can't exactly pinpoint what about the tone I dislike so much.
I feel like the story was a little too fast-paced, with barely any time to breath between the action scenes. It also kinda feels like they're just going through setpieces.
I also think the way the movie looks wasn't the best fit for it either. While it is extremely pretty, I feel like it doesn't really look like Mario. Idk if this will make sense, but it feels like 50% of "this will be graphics in 2013" with a dash of better art direction.
While I wouldn't go to a "Mario Movie 2" I do hope that this makes Nintendo more open to adaptations of their work.
Most of this list being criticisms isn't because I didn't like the movie, I just have more to say about what I didn't like than what I did.

Holy **** Wario Wario Wario was right, this movie looks so generic. "Bad thing is good and good thing is bad isn't that WaCkY and sUbVeRsIvE?!?!?!" Even disregarding that, it just seems to be a "hiding fantasy life from normal school" plotline that 99% of kids cartoons had in the late 2000's-early 2010's. The trailer also seemed to be doing that thing animated movie trailers do where all of the movie is just spoiled, unless there's some big twist or the big battle scene isn't the ending, I think I know pretty much the entire plot of this movie. Also when the main character first saw the mermaid girl I thought she was falling in love with her and thought it was actually going in an interesting direction but nah.

Pizza Tower's lap 2 mechanic is honestly kinda genius. You want the escape sequences to have tension, but don't want inexperienced players to fail, especially because failure means replaying the entire level again. So you give really generous times, but in order to give experienced closer and more intense you just... have them go through it again.
