The one piece of lore I like from Subspace is Mr. Game & Watch having no sense of right or wrong, even though it's just as nonsensical within the limited G&W canon as ROB's backstory is. I like to think the reason why he commits moral actions like keeping zoo lions in cages and rescuing people from a fire is because he finds said acts fun and not any actual moral obligation.

I always assumed that the Star Wars special editions were just a brief little oops that quickly got reversed, a single gimmicky DVD run distinctly labeled as such, and people were overreacting.

Oh no no no no. This is actually a disgrace. They still don't provide the original edits, and fans had to make a high quality version themselves. I 100% understand the fan rage, and if anything people have underreacted.

I don't get the hate for "all a dream/video game/book/movie" endings - like, yeah, if they're used as a way to avoid having a proper ending or they go the edgy coma route it sucks, but I think it can be a really cute framing device, and it ultimately changes nothing about the story's real-ness status.

Wanted to do another EAC series recap, but decided to go for the funny inspect element (I actually used the SmashWiki editor preview function, but inspect element sounds funnier) - I'm honestly surprised by how sensible this is once you remove the funny Simpsons spirits and Regular Show music tracks - sure, there's some wacky stuff here and there, but I could reasonably imagine this part of the Wiki looking a lot like this come a next Smash game. (the only stuff I think is outright unrealistic are Drill Dozer being bumped up to stage status, any new MS IP being prioritized over Halo or Doom, those said 3 MS IPs (even if Halo and Doom were also added) and Club Penguin being present, Digimon going without a fighter, and - of course - no new ATs)

I had a dream where I was looking on a 90s-era Rugrats fansite, and it got a new host that completely removed all the Rugrats content and replaced it with Micheal Jackson tributes and conspiracy posts about the "Aluminium Glasher", a cryptid that's literally just a guy in a parrot mascot costume made of aluminium who supposedly does vague bad things to children - then after that I went to watch an episode of Futurama which had BMO from Adventure Time as a guest character for some reason, and he started talking about the Aluminium Glasher.

I really love the idea of Smash adding some form of content that is explicitly anti-Nintendo or self-deprecating - like the Game Genie genie mascot as a fighter, a Genesis Does What Nintendon't stage, some kind of sweat reference with an MK fighter, or even just a more open representation of an embarrassing Nintendo moment like the Virtual Boy; CD-i; or weird 90s ads.

I've been trying to clear the Board the Platforms with all fighters in Smash Remix, and it's funny how significantly harder it is to clear with JP DK than regular DK. Thought I just got lucky the first time until I looked up 64 DK on SSBWiki and found out his up B was buffed between the Japanese and international versions.

I don't think any one person will ever have a more "right place, right time" experience with a movie than I had with Wreck-It Ralph. I was 11 at the time, I was starting to get into Disney and Pixar movies after spending my early childhood as a Dreamworks kid, and I was huge into retro games - especially from the 80s - trying to get ahold of every retro game I possibly could, be it with original hardware (back when that was affordable), re-releases, fan projects, or piracy. You have no clue how validating it was for me to see the Konami Code and Pac-Man kill screen on the big screen at that age, even if those are now kinda cliche references.

The Namco Museum games have a really interesting legacy - they were aimed at the 80s kids who grew up on those games, got in the hands of 2000s kids who were introduced to Pac-Man through the Flash fan port by Neave and World games, and the newer generation took to a completely different set of games from what the 80s kids took to. Pole Position was popular enough to get a solo cartoon (not even part of one of the package shows that were common at the time), while Mappy was considered a flop that didn't even get any US home ports, but nowadays in the zoomers' reign of the internet PP is only brought up for a weird advert while Mappy is considered a timeless classic.
