Having spent my pre-teen years on a diet of primarily retro games and only having gotten into 2000s stuff (beyond the licensed and 1P Nintendo games I played at a very young age) relatively recently, whenever I hear gaming opinions from my own age group, I feel really old. What do you mean Kid Icarus (1986) isn't fun? Asteroids (Atari 2600 port), ugly? Come on, you can wring hours of fun from Penguin Land (1987)!

I like that Pizza Tower does have the staple indie game hidden dark lore, but one instance is a comically harrowing juxtaposition so dark that it's impossible to take seriously (Peppino being a war vet) and the other is utterly nonsensical (the whole Pillar John backstory) - I have no clue if the intent of these backstories was to parody unnecessarily deep and dark lore in cartoony platformers, but it comes off that way and I like it.

I am now cursed with the knowledge that "bluish yellow" is a forbidden colour.

Looking forward to Mr. G&W in EAC, got a great echo and stage planned, both of which are from franchises I've already contributed to a little in EAC

The concept of fantasy dwarves is so funny to me. They literally took a disability and turned it into a whimsical creature. Imagine if someone released a book about "the mystical forest of the ancient Amputees" or something.

That "I Hate Barney" novelty album I posted a few days ago is really weird - 3 or so of the songs aren't about Barney, none of them involve death or violence but there's one that seems to vaguely allude to dino-sex, there's an actual genre balance with love songs; rock and roll; and rap among the obvious nursery rhyme parodies, one of them is a weirdly emotional track where the singer is trying to figure out just why she hates Barney, and it's also... really good? Like some of these are genuinely good cheesy 90s songs, I wish there were versions with lyrics that weren't about wanting a mid-90s kids' show cancelled.

I tried looking up all the artist's other work and apparently she's a 1970s disco legend or something? Her Barney-bashing album really isn't that far off from her serious songs from what I've heard so far - it's very clearly made on a lower budget with synth instruments and all that (though that could just be to replicate the actual Barney show, which also used cheap synth instruments), but the singing and original composition quality doesn't seem to be much of a downgrade.

I have a bit of a habit IRL of trying not to repeat certain words too often, and using fancy synonyms as often as possible, and because of this I LOATHED the word "please" while I was in education. Thank you has tons of synonyms I can use, but please is just so rigid. Even if I said something with the same meaning and etiquette, like say "would you mind...", I still got scolded for it - luckily, that sort of thing seems to have eased as I left school and went into supported living, so I can "would you mind" all I want now.

I was thinking of replacing my Minecraft Link submission from EAC with Link Sonic - the reason I decided against it is just because alts for Minecraft Link would be really fun - plus I have wanted an OC of sorts in the thread since I opened it, and Link Sonic is a real canon thing.

One of my original ideas for a Young Link echo was a "warrior Zelda", which I could include through Minecraft Link's alts.
