YouTube's annual Earth day thing being called "Non-Fungible Planet" this year has major "Put 'splash' in the name of Splash Mountain to promote Splash" vibes.
Part of the reason I prefer the 90s Nicktoons over the 2000s Nicktoons is because the 2000s shows can pretty much all be summed up conceptually as "A relatable kid just like you dealing with homework and bullies, but when he gets home sci-fi gimmick!". The 90s stuff, while barely more varied if it even is, has a common hook that appeals more to me: "mundane life told through the surreal lense of a different type of person or weird creature" - not necessarily kids, not necessarily adults; not necessarily animals, not necessarily humans; but always a down-to-earth world with any fantasy elements that may exist twined into the setting rather than made a secret double-world.

I feel Origins' 3&K can compete with AIR, but not Complete.
I feel a major problem with modern Smash is that the devs seemingly chose not to immerse themselves in the games' worlds, but just the games themselves. There's a ton of meta UI/game mechanic references in fighters that make it seem like they're just trying to represent an entire game instead of the character themselves, while Namco-era stages based on modern games are, with rare exceptions, just copy-and-pasted from the original game graphically without any creative liberties other than layout. Kinda throws me out of the whimsy and fun when I'm playing not as Sora, but as an anthropomorphised Kingdom Hearts. Also makes it hard to extend these series' representation further, how do you do Bass or Roll when all things Mega Man are inside one stage and fighter?

Me changing the accepted pronunciation of a common adjective; creating a universal misconception over a domestic animal's dietary habits; and turning the name of a legendary biblical figure into a juvenile insult.
I feel that both the criticisms and praise for Sonic Origins are way overblown - it's not offensive or particularly scummy, but it's also not the best compilation since Rare Replay either. The only part of it that really feels like they went "above and beyond" with is the story mode cutscenes and the only part of it that feels particularly disappointing is having music from, but not, Knuckles' Chaotix.
I just had a dream where I was going to donate to a local transgender rights fundraiser, but realised I didn't have any legal tender and only "I Hate Jon Arbuckle" comemorative coins - thus I got depressed and listened to a podcast hosted by Tracey Ullman, who my brain decided was the creator of The Simpsons and not Matt Groening for some reason, where she was extremely inconsistent on whether The Simpsons was an "adult show", "family show", or "boys show".
Later in the dream, I was in a boarding school where they were watching a version of Turning Red with guns in it on a Wii U, complete with a TV screenbug of the Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD logo edited to say "Sup, mama", and the stairs had been moved around so I kept bumping into the same wall. When I finally got up to my room, two stereotypical 80s college movie jocks beat me up because they thought I filled the pillows with Doritos.

I got a YouTube video in my recommended where a guy watches an interview about the Batman Arkham games, finds out Harley's mocap was done by a man, and starts crying.
I'm legitimately baffled by this. Why would that upset anyone? What is there to be upset about? I don't even get it in a semi-hyperbolic transphobic-horny way.
IMO Bowser would've been the best choice for a WOL starter character - listen out to me on this
- He's only ever had something resembling his own game once despite being a Nintendo A-lister and then some
- His "lesser evil" status in the Nintendo (and even Mario) villain pantheon works here for a sort of "evil has standards" story, and could inspire a lot of really good fan work about his motivations and the wariness of them from his allies - hero and villain alike.
- Bowser, being a bruiser, is a character new players will gravitate towards for his strength, but they'll inevitably figure out he has his own weaknesses and try to use one of the fighters they've rescued, learning that power isn't everything in the process.
- Bowser's slow movement, that can be recognised even before realising the other weaknesses mentioned in #3, would also encourage new players to figure out the spirit system.
- Bowser has already been established to hold a lot of power within Smash lore thanks to Melee, it seems pretty reasonable he'd survive the beams even if not based in Mario canon
- They could make Giga Bowser playable again, which would be MUCH better than the Master Hand segment on virtue of using the same control scheme as regular battles, allowing it to have actual difficulty and fun instead of a neutered fight where you spend most of the time confused over which button does what

You could argue Zero is more agregious than those examples on virtue of just how much blood oozes out, but honestly Zero is such an abstract character design that I wouldn't have even registered the red orbs as blood if it weren't so commonly mentioned. Doesn't look like the sort of thing that'd have blood.
Even though it is overpriced I probably will get Sonic Origins Digital Deluxe - primarily for the connected story mode and "hard missions". Do we know if it'll have the ability to disable spin dash in 2 and 3K? I heavily doubt it given how both games have certain hazards and gimmicks that force it. but it would be a welcomed feature and I'd prefer it over playing Sonic 1 with spin dash given how easy it makes the game.
There is one living real world person (not a fictionalised version from a game like Kawashima or Tony Hawk) I'd be fine with in Smash: Tim Follin. His music really is the star of all the games he's worked on (except maybe Plok) and since he hasn't worked on many major gaming IPs you could composite all his popular music tracks into a single songlist without pissing off many fanbases. (though getting the licenses may be a problem, especially for the licensed games)
I'll probably do jobs on SMSB for submitting layouts and hazards for stages that didn't have enough detail in their submissions
I just found out about "Where's Huddles?", Hanna-Barbera's attempt to make The Flintstones for American football fans, and I can't help but crack up every time I see this stupid car.

I have to admit, Sonic Origins Digital Deluxe having a hard mode sold me on it.
If I had to choose a Mario RPG character to introduce into the main canon, it'd probably be Prince Peasley. Adding a prince alongside the princesses seems like such an obvious thing for the Mario universe to do, and there isn't much lore you have to get to understand the character conceptually like with say Fawful or Geno - there's a bean country next to the Mushroom Kingdom, it's enhabited by beans instead of mushrooms, extremely simple to grasp.
I'm personally partial to Vivian and she is a character who a return of is demanded, but I feel her design is so abstract (especially in regards to whether she's a ghost or not) that she could be offputting to casual players even if the entire fandom, casual and hardcore, miraculously agreed that having a trans character is OK. Lady Bow is a runner up, she's easily my favourite of the enemy-based RPG party members and would be super easy to sell casual players on ("existing character but girl" is a tried and tested trope, as is "gothic + feminine aesthetic")

I don't really get why you'd tone down the cplours here, I get it's to look more casual and less like kiddy-wear or cosplay, but either way it's a Yoshi-shaped onesie. It's gonna look stupid and extravagant.
