I kinda wish Nintendo were more willing to create "obvious" Mario characters - I don't know if that makes sense, but basically characters created under the same logic as Waluigi.
"if there's a King Boo there's gotta be a Queen Boo!"
"If there's Chain Chomp why aren't there Chain Chews?"
"The Toads have an elder, let's give the Yoshis one in Yoshworth!"
"Rosalina is a space goddess, right? How about a sea or underground goddess as the Daisy to her Peach?"
"Surely the Bullet Bills in a Bill Blaster are contained in a Magazine Bill?"
so on.

The box art of NASB feels really haphazardly placed, so here's my crude take on a version that emphasises the popular copy-selling shows. Note that SpongeBob would be in front of everyone except R&S, he's only behind Lincoln and Zim because of a lack of PNG transparency. Not exactly as visually appealing as the real box art, but I really can't wrap my head around how April, Oblina, and PTM made the box art.

Yeah, about that...

I don't think modern Smash needs Melee movement to be good per say, but it does need to either A. provide and prioritise better movement options, preferably ones that would be accessable to casual players and useful for hardcore players, or B. create a more strategic gameplay style that justifies a low speed

I feel level skips in Mario games (and platformers in general) are a weird holdover from the time before save files. Before save files, you wanted to get the least out of a game and beat it quick; but now we live in an age where save files are common and you want to get the most out of a game - leaving level skips as more an unfortunate discovery than a magical secret.

It's so weird how Mario characters tend to be more fluidly animated in Happy Meal/board game ads than their own games. I assume it's because those ads are outsourced to American studios, and American cartoons tend to focus on fluid movement with simple objects while Japanese anime prefers to get the most out of a smaller amount of frames.
