If I was making a Smash fangame I would straight-up have zero veterans. Generally people don't tend to play or get excited for veterans in fangames (sans mods), it feels kinda like a waste of dev time, and it makes it a lot safer copyright-wise.

Season passes as is are morally reprehensible, but putting them in Smash - a series that fans of are known to get extremely emotional about which characters do or don't get in and make conspiracy theories about why their (least) favourite is certainly (not) making it in - is an Activision-tier move, and would be even if the DLC wasn't used to promote Arms/3 Houses/Xenoblade, and more people need to speak out against it.
If you ever see a Nintendo character and a love heart emoji in the same image, you are probably being emotionally manipulated.
I remember seeing someone argue against competitive Smash by saying "I want wacky fun like random tripping, not frame data moves!"
How would that even work? Would every move start and end instantly? Would the hitbox be active for the whole move? Would there just be no moves at all?

Almost every (heroic) Disney animal sidekick is painfully unfunny outside of one specific quote. I'm a sucker for "oh look, I've been impaled." personally.
I generally don't like character variants (Dr. Mario, ZSS, Pink Gold Peach, Dry Bowser) in games where characters have no differences beyond stats, but in games where characters have full movesets and abilities I think they're really cool.
I think Jill, Muddy, and maybe PaRappa are the only Smash newcomers who could possibly make me cry of happiness. Waluigi wouldn't really be personal for me and I want Knight & Ostrich for the moveset potential and significance given Smash's heavy use of Balloon Fight, not emotional attachment.

I think I've submitted PaRappa to every creation thread I've ever played (at least where he'd be elegible) multiple times but he's never won.
I kinda simultaniously do and don't understand the hype for Tetris Effect. It looks beautiful, the music is incredible, and its changes to the formula are some of the smartest in Tetris history - but at the same time, "magnum opus" or "masterpiece" is really overselling it.
