  • I saw you playing Little Mac the other day, and I can say, I'll never doubt a character again. But I'm curious, do you think Little Mac has any way to deal with wind boxes? It seems to me that playing at least one secondary is mandatory to play Little Mac considering how hard he's countered by wind boxes.
    Hey just a quick question. This frame data has me screwed up as bowser player with all these state transitions. Could u please list quite a few of them. Like bowser bomb aerial state transition frame 32. Yet it starts up on 32. I'm so lost with it all. Thx.

    In your recent work of art, you mentioned each character had 25 moves. I'm not coming up with that number. I've got jab, DA, tilts, smashes, aerials, pummel and throws, and four specials.

    That adds up to 22 moves, unless you were excluding throws and including custom specials, which would get it to 25.

    Or you could have been joking, like the rest of the post ("asma" placing with yoshi being a bad thing lol).

    WiiU: Everything seems comparable--I like All Star on Hard. Leave the game on with Amiibos or in Smash Tour as a bonus.

    QFT. There's so much stuff in this game just for us. I couldn't believe it when I saw a tip that explained how to do OOS options.
    Did you ever figure out the absolute fastest way to unlock customs on wiiu? I'm convinced doing 30-32 second Trophy Rush is fastest, as it's a guaranteed 1 custom/30 seconds. I do it with Palutena's Heavenly Light and it's easy and quick.
    Hey Thinkaman. You probably don't remember me, but I'm that scrub Metaknight/Fox Sm4sh player from that Extra Life tourney at WashU (Melee puff player as well). I want to get into the Sm4sh scene, but the guys at Lopata are much more melee-centric. Being the car-less freshman that I am, could you advise me on how to get into the scene? Thanks.

    Are you 200% certain these things about forward and down throw are the same:
    Base Knockback, Knockback in general, lag after throws, angles sent?
    I doubt it'd be any different between Mars/Luci so one would probably do :p

    I know you confirmed dthrow not having differences but you didn't mention exactly how you checked, and you didnt clarify on fthrow :p
    Can you test the differences between 1.03 and 1.04 marths and lucinas? Also can you see if the 1.04 marth and lucina have been varied up a bit in order to make the each more unique. Please and than you.

    While I appreciate the request, I intended for people to ask me what a couple of moves did on 1.0.3, after they had updated and were unable to check themselves.

    "Check all the moves of two characters across both versions" is a rather absurd request in scope.

    I didn't want to switch the conversation back, but I'm pretty sure if MK had his damage doubled in this game, he'd still be awful.
    Multi hit moves that do like 1-2% each on base, some things will suddenly be in the teen percent so he'll have some safety on shield, but wouldn't suddenly have insurmountable shield pressure and likely would still remain unsafe. Stuff like drill rush/tornado may become safe on shield.

    MK Tornado does over 20 damage raw, that move would become really insane on shield with double damage. Then stuff like D-throw Tornado would do 50% instantly.

    He would have really good rewards, as would everyone with double damage, but he'd still structurally be weak and wouldn't suddenly beat every character because of it.

    MK is fine structurally. He has good mobility and good setups and traps, and he gets out of traps easily. The primary reason he's not great is his reward is low, and he would start being pretty broken if he had anywhere near his old reward when you consider his overall safety.
    You may want to reword your opening sentence, at some point 500 sentence negatives sound very confusing.

    "No where to go but up" with 'do not think' still makes me think you're saying she can only go up. But that definitely contrasts with your conclusions :p

    Thinkaman, I was wondering how familiar you were with hitstun mechanics. I'm currently the most knowledgeable on that subject out of the wbr, and I thought it would be worth discussing with the other project leads. Its a very complex system and I was hoping to share/compare info if possible.
