In hindsight, I think I like doing rosters for Mario Kart than Smash, since Mario Kart has more room for deep cut curveballs compared to Smash. That’s not to say Smash doesn’t have any room for curveballs, I just think Mario Kart is less competitive in that regard.

Smash speculation starter pack:

“Square Enix isn’t gonna get any content in the base game”
Cutting characters that are popular enough to still be in the base game
Cramming characters they know nothing about into alts and/or Echo slots
Saying certain clones should stay because they’re “iconic” (they’re really not; this argument only considers a character’s function)
Refusal to judge a character on their own merits
Constant arguments over what’s “relevant” and “iconic”
Only know certain characters through Smash and think their Smash portrayal is all they are
Rosters tend to skew either towards being completely predictable (usually biased towards Western gaming) or trying way too hard to be wacky and unexpected, even though the Smash series has typically always struck a balance between the two

Anything else I’m missing?

I just thought of a way Divine Pulse could be unique if Byleth had it in Smash: as Byleth's take on Roman canceling.

Pressing B + down at any point would set a marker around Byleth. Pressing B + down again would cancel directly back into the action that was canceled before.

I think for the next Mario Kart game, I'd like an artstyle that mixed Vanilla 8's photorealism with the Booster Course Pass's cartoony saturation. Basically, something vibrsnt yet detailed (mainly so we can avoid another Toad Circuit fiasco).

Delzethin's Alear video raised a point about a certain antagonist from Engage seeing others as means to an end. Which then made me think about how Smash fans only see Alear as an excuse to get rid of all of Fire Emblem's playable characters. After all, they're all Emblems in Engage, so why not demote them to being part of Alear's moveset and nothing else?
