    Have all the seasonal content available in the shop after the season ends without a battle pass tying them together, and have the story/events be paid DLC which can be bought at any time or such. Destiny 2 could theoretically have no FOMO elements, it just doesn't lol.
    If Archie Comics got to do their Super Mario comic, do you think Pink Gold Peachh would be portrayed as a villain if Nintendo allowed it?

    If that Smash-based cover variant is anything to go by, they had a lost opportunity (same goes to Freedom Fighters before the sequel). Shadow Mario could easily work for the doppelganger-luring plan (if Roboticized Masters are enough, his allies could end up captured by those or have their own adventures somewhere else before uniting in a huge Robot Master group battle).

    Since Archie got exclusive transformations as Rock's here, the climax should've gotten a combination of Mario's Cape and White Raccoon power-ups (minus a tail). Metroid and Kirby were also pitched, so they and other Nintendo IPs would've appeared in Unite too.

    I reckon this depends on whether Metal Mario would be treated as a power-up, a seperate entity (akin to the Mario Kart games), or something else entirely. If it's treated as a power-up then I reckon the more likely outcome is Pink Gold Peach being a power-up for Peach herself - and it's not like there's a lack of Mario variants if they're allowed to pick through the series, like Shadow Mario or Robo Mario.

    I think there's always the possibility, because it feels like something that Archie might have done at the time - but I'm not sure that the "character" would even be in th position for that to happen.
    I think I've noticed a bit of a pattern with Fire Emblem throughout the 3DS and Switch eras.

    Y’know, I wanna say “screw it, the next Smash should reveal every DLC character in whatever DLC pass they do” but I’m also concerned about the potential fan backlash and red tape surrounding those characters.

    I think it'd be good so people actually know the proper contents what they're purchasing before they buy it, that's something Sakurai has acknowledged and is a shift other fighting games have made. At the same time, Tekken, which is by the same publisher and largely the same development team, notably hasn't done that, and it's clearly worked out well for them with Heihachi, and I also can't imagine Nintendo would approve of it because they need Smash reveals to fill out their schedule, so even if I would personally prefer it I can't imagine it would be likely. I don't think the stuff about hype getting out of control or being toxic is really a big issue in comparison, I'm really mostly just concerned about the money spending aspect.

    There's also the aspect that other fighting games tend to only have one guest per season and reveal it at major FG events like EVO, while Smash tends to have many, and that creates more legal red tape, so would have to see. Mortal Kombat is the only other point of comparison there.
    If Mission Mode returned in Mario Kart, I think it'd be cool if there was 1 mission per course and you can pick any character for each mission. I think for the sake of brainstorming, I'll do a mission for each of the base game 8 Deluxe courses and battle maps.

    The fact that the current state of the Pokémon games is because Game Freak is talentless and not because of the crunch they have to endure just makes me depressed. I know they shouldn’t have lied about the “high-quality animations” and stuff, but I don’t think they did that out of malice.
    Anyway, now we're doing the first Tour in my Mario Kart Tour remake. Come swing by if you have the time.
    Even if Nintendo just had to reuse assets for the original Wii U Mario Kart 8’s Battle Mode, they still could’ve just made original battle maps using those assets like they did for 8 Deluxe.

    You know how the original Wii U battle maps were literally just Moo Moo Meadows, Dry Dry Desert, Donut Plains 3, Toad’s Turnpike, Mario Circuit, Toad Harbor, Sherbet Land and Yoshi Valley? I think you could’ve easily made actual battle maps with their assets. As for what they’d probably be:
    • Moo Moo Barnyard
    • GBA Battle Course 4
    • SNES Battle Course 1
    • Toad’s Parking Garage
    • Peach’s Castle
    • Harbor Plaza
    • 3DS Sherbet Rink
    • Yoshi Canyon
    If Moo Moo Farm was in the Booster Course Pass, I could see the gates on both sides leading onto the bridges around the course for alternate paths on each lap, kind of like other courses in the Booster Course Pass.

    Of course, considering that the entirety of the Booster Course Pass consists of courses ported over from Tour, that would probably require Moo Moo Farm to actually be in Tour.

    I honestly think it'd have been cool for the Vs. series to continue going forward, the concept and even cabinet layout is pretty unique and it'd have been cool to see what kinds of other stuff could have been explored in the form factor.

    That said I don't think you could just straight up port an existing Smash game to an arcade cabinet? Like I'm not sure the gameplay of typical Smash Bros. would feel at home there. Maybe a specialised, retooled "Smash Bros. Arcade Edition" or something could be fun though.

    The main issue is that you really couldn't have it as a competitive game because it's Nintendo and they're apparently allergic to that. Though, if they did... I'd honestly suggest cutting back the roster to like 30 characters to make balancing easier and focusing third-party picks on arcade-centric characters (like, say, Pac-Man, Terry, etc.) Plus, you could always have a rotating cast in different versions.

    this is such a specific desire for me, but if smash were to get an arcade board release AND it had a scaled back roster, i'd want it to have one of those weird unorthodox character select screens in the arcade versions of fighting games that you would typically see in the naomi/atomiswave era

    Ohhhh that'd go really hard! I've always had a weird appreciation for these bizarre character select screens, it's a little difficult to really represent them when making concepts or whatnot but they're such fun parts of the arcade experience :)
    If Nintendo were brave during the time when Mario Kart Tour was getting new content, they would've done an FEH collab with Elimine as a racer.
