  • Oh my god, SWF won't let me post this cuz I passed the letter limit by 2018 (it's 1000)!

    *pm's*
Sadly, nope, i haven't found any articles or posts regarding how to get better since then. :\

And tourney results mean a lot. Having a character that places high consistently means he has the tools to answer to the metagame's most dominant characters. If the character doesn't place consistently, then it means that the player is getting better, then others are lerning his habits and mindgames, then he's adapting to them, then the opponents learn again, etc etc etc (pretty much the character depends completely on the player's skill in order to place as high as he's been before)...
What would change my mind, huh? Hmm...

Maybe more than just 1-2 Pits being consistently in the high results of every tourney they attend. Something that would average to his tier position, cuz right now, all the tourney results say that he should lower (according to Ankoku's thread). If there's consistency, theres something about the character that lets its players place well so much. If there's no consistency, then it's either the opponents not knowing the matchup, an easy bracket, the Pit mainer being smarter than everyone else, (etc)...

Thats how I feel anyway. :\
I dunno man, but Pit still doesn't seem that great of a character to me. In the PT match, the PT was using Squirtle and Charizard well, but Masashi really didn't do anything that made me change my stance... In the MK match, RAIN was using MK terribly, mashing tornado and getting punished for everything he did wrong (like, half the match was him being punished).

I still don't think Pit should be at the top of mid tier. If Masashi truly is the best, and he fails to convince me that Pit should remain where he is or rise, then it only further solidifies my position in that matter.

Not saying Pit is bad or anything of course. Just saying that "he's not as good as the tier list says".
Ummm....I'm an aggressive player, I'm not to fond of arrow camping or anything of that sort. After Apex, I plan on entering with Pit at tournaments more often.
Again I don't use it and I've never heard of anyone using it so I'm not sure. I would think you would just cancel dash attack into grab, like boost pivot grabbing, but it may not be possible / just be the same as a normal dash grab. The only time I've even heard it referred to was some recent thread on the pit boards.
It just changed to 18 within the last few years, but it's REALLY loose. Like, I look like im 13 and I can walk into a store and buy 10 bottles of wine no problem. Not that I EVER did that :p
It was amazingggg! I lived like a local for 3 weeks with my exchange student in Lyon, and then I was in Paris for 5 days. Paris was amazing, but Lyon was just so incredible. It was awesome being a crazy french kid and doing what I want :p You would not believe how hard they like to party over there, especially during the World Cup!
It has no purpose for being open any longer. It's less then a month short of being a year since the last reply. And as Raz said, we have multiple other threads discussing essentially the same thing. However, if you want to make a newer version of that thread that'd be fine.
Cincinnati has smash tournies every once in a while (1-2 times a month?). We have a HUUUGE number of people that are active, something around 16-20 so smashfests are pretty big. We're 2 hours away from a lot of active tournament places (Springfield, Columbus, Louisville, Lexington, Indianapolis) so that's amaaaazing. Do you live in MWW?
I've seen AIB, but I'm a bit reluctant to join. I'm already apart of three other online groups and I feel I'll be overloading myself if I join any more. Thanks for the offer, though. Are you on AIB?
Oh, I see. It's still a good avatar, though. I haven't been able to find an Uprising picture, though -_-...
Oh, I see. Well, I also wanted to say: Nice Avatar! Uprising is going to be awesome ^__^! I can't wait till it comes out!

Did you make that avatar yourself?
My Pit is decent. Angelic step has pushed my game a lot I think. It solves so many spacing issues and a sliding FSmash is a solid mid range approach, especial out of a short hopped fair or nair. I'm still no real pro though. Honestly I don't plank enough unless pressed in a real tourney, and my canceling needs work :p.

How you feeling about your game?
thats electrical or bio depending on the type of robotics or what part of the design you want to be involved in.
NOt much. I just moved like 20 min from my old house. I'm trying to get my Pit to beast level, but I'm having a hard time. I get distracted playing my other characters.
Sorry for such a late reply lol. Its good? I've been investigating alot of construction sites and updating their status on the computer system. The evil secretary of my office left for vacation....so right now my job is awesome :p. Whats up with you?
mmm, depends on the type of engineering you want to go into. at my school my major is supposedly the most difficult. lot of projects and time consuming problem sets. each hw assignment for me is at least 3 hours.
i'm studying electrical engineering at uc berkeley. engineering is gonna use a lot of math, but i mean as long as you're willing to put in the time, you should be ok. i think thats true for anything though. just do what you like dude.
Thanks dude! I'm really excited and have been soaking up all the advice I can while thinking about the game in many different ways. Can't wait for Saturday!! Gotta train hard from now until then :)
    Thanks man.

The biggest thing i have on my side is experience. I've been to alot of tourneys so i know what to expect from my opponents for the most part. And i try to practice for like 15 minutes a day, just to not rust over, but thats more chr. dependent.
Thanks man, yeah it seems I perform better in doubles.

I find I play more comfortably in doubles with Marth, MK and G&W however my usual team-mates who use those characters have spent hours at my house coming up with team combos and learning from each other so we can work around each other's moves. (3 arrows into a G&W bucket is insta-kill from a dthrow <3)

I only ever team with 3-4 different people who I've learned to trust so that might have an impact aswell.
Were there more I would share it. I posted everything I wrote in the backroom and in my guide.
Hey uhhh thanks I guess lol.

The best advice I've received was not to spam fsmash like most Pits tend to do. Also only to use bair as a kill move if you can help it. Instead using fair and nair to space and Pit's jab is very useful, saving his stronger moves till later (this is common sense anyway I'm sure you already know all of this).

Not much goes through my mind while playing Pit though. Mostly to camp more. And of course to mix up the arrow spam so it's not too predictable...to be honest I feel like I'm not giving any good advice at all lol. Just the usual "spam arrows and don't stale your kill moves" stuff.

Lastly, I found that using wing-dashing at the right times really confuses your opponent. It's a good mind game imo but it took a while for me to integrate it into my game play to be actually useful enough. Either way, I'm sure you can find better advice from someone else, I'm not that good lol.

I'm always willing to help out of I can though.
haha danny xD I love danny lmfao he lives near meeee :D too bad he said he didnt wanna teach me stuffs =[ anyway okay thank uuu <3 and i added u on aim ^^
no i wanna be a mortician :D and....your aim doesnt workO_O nooo ummm can u tell me about the rob mu? im going to a tourney tomorrow and some kid is playing rob....ive nvr played a rob before what do i doooo? :3
yeah xD I graduated this year ^^ i was sooo glad when i got my diploma lmfao and im going to go to college xD Trying to get a job as well though :-p and im going to be studying funeral sciences xD how about you? :D
not gonna lie you're pretty amazing xD cuz u said the pit vs. MK mu doesnt seem too bad anymore and no one believed me when i said stuff about the mu :3
it all depends on the MU on what you do for your opponents. if you need help on a specific MU i can try n help but over all i rarely play anymore and the Metagame for pit right now is way beyond me lol.
Thank you for the complement. Im really trying to get better. Ummm... I need to see or know exactly what your doing. Here is a question. How are you using dair when you do?
