When I get a 1.0 Im maining Ylink. Yeah I've never heard of that before.

Hey guys how do you bomb-pull-regrab? Im trying to hit back on my c stick, then up on control stick, and then of course the downB bomb pull. I have never done it. Any tips?

Here's the power of YL's recovery in 1.0/1.1 lol

@Metal Reeper: To do the bomb pull regrab the edge, I press down/y/b almost all at the same time, except it's 1 right after the other as quickly as possible. This is one of the only times I ever use Y (because I usually jump with X). My thumb isn't fast enough to go from X to B to do this technique consistently.

i wanna learn how to bomb/arrow re grab could you go into a lil more depth in explaining it ( imma ylink main btw )
Basically I just press Down on the control stick, then Y, and then B. If you want to pull a bomb, keep holding Down until after you press B. If you want to shoot an arrow, you have to let go of Down before you press B.

Idk how else to explain it lol. You just kinda ledgehop and pull a bomb (or shoot an arrow) as early as possible after you double jump. And you have to double jump as soon as possible after releasing the ledge. If you do either of these too late, then it won't work.

To offer an alternate method, I press in the opposite direction of the ledge with the control stick and then roll it to "up" to jump. Timing isn't very strict, but tap jump might be a pain to get used to.

I think if you press down and Y at the same time the game will read the down input before the jump so you'll do an immediate ledge drop jump. That way you don't have to worry about timing or sensitivity.

@ElloEddy -- ledgehop -> bomb pull / arrow -> regrab is pretty straightforward, but the timing on your inputs has to be crisp. Like Axe said, drop (Joystick Down), jump (X or Y), and arrow/bomb (B, while still holding the joystick down) in rapid succession. Try to have those inputs go one after another as quickly as possible. Bomb pull is easier to do than arrow, since the lag time is less.

I've been having fun with full-hop -> bomb pull -> waveland.

I think YL Peach is even. He has no real pressure vs her shield and gives up position a lot to pull toys (since challenging her without them is hard) but mobility advantage + bomb combos + butter knife (it matters sometimes) are good vs her everything but shield > jump OOS float / WD OOS. As we all know, Peach's good recovery isn't useful vs bomb > dair (having a reliable KO at 90 is godsend vs floaties). That said, her shield is lame and she can move out of it really effectively after he touches it with anything and grabbing is dangerous vs her (d-tilt > FC faceroll does a lot of damage, as does FC uairs into stuff at low percent). Both have decent edgeguard on the other IMO.

Peach has to play really patient though and not get lured into jumping after him on top platforms, so in practice it's probably a good MU for YL.

@kirbykaze yl wrecks peach in my opinion ...the jab pressures her shield ..jab also pops her up setting up nair ..dsmash kills , spaced right peach cant dsmash or grab you she can only wave dash away from you. and jabs spaced right bait out cc dsmashed ..which leads to grabs and yl can give floaties good dmg from dwn throw combos.

and if she floats you run under her ..uair ,nair, bair, and the fact she dies at 90 from dair and 110 from up air is amazing ...all peach can really do is toss turnips and try to slow the ylink down...cause if you give ylink freedom to run around its a big problem for peach ...

imma ylink main ..i played 2 higher level peaches n did well ..yet i get wrecked by ppl the 4 stock..idk that says alot 2 me since i havent been playing for that long

I'm still trying to figure out why HungryBox felt Ness was the answer to Young Link.

You people do realize Armada beat PC Chris' Fox with his YL?
I'm sure even if Hbox picked a spacie or Sheik, Armada could take it.
YL can deal with spacies, its just difficult.

You're kidding me.
This is something i'd have to see for myself.

I didn't really get the impression that Armada's YL was very good at pressuring and thats needed against Fox. So thats a set I'd REALLY wanna see.

I saw it in person at least, I don't think there's any videos sadly.

One thing is for sure though, Hbox would never have a chance with a character Armada is used to. Hbox will not know the matchup while Armada will if Hbox plays a high/top tier.

The reason it was so close with Ness was since Armada did have close to zero experience.

I would love to refine my Young Link for APEX 2014. The problem is that the more I learn, the more I see Young Link's blatant deficiencies.
