Clearly Armada feels he's unbeatable and needs to quit.
Someone (aka Hack) needs to convince him to just set new challenges for himself. How about try to make it out of pools with just YL, and maybe even through a good part of bracket?

Try baiting Falco onto platforms more. You confront him on the ground too often. The key to beating Falco is having good positioning at all times. If you let him establish an approach from 2 SHL lengths away you're doing the matchup wrong.

Good stuff. Young Link is a REALLY hard counter to ice climbers and has been since like 2006. Not many people know that.

What's the current status of Peach? I remember having a long winded argument with DoH (I think) years ago, where he claimed Peach was actually a soft counter to YLink. I maintain that YLink is a pretty hard counter to all of Peach's crap. :]

Young Link is currently a soft counter to Peach. Shes fast enough nowadays to actually approach him.

i still think ylink destroys peach .... .....imagine a ylink like armada fighting peach on stadium where she dies at 95 of the top ...as much as i hate armadas ylink style its the best way to play him ....i started camping more and mixing it up since its alot more affective then trying batttle with ppl

Fair enough. I guess she just seems slow to me because I'm tired of fighting space animals.
Only against Puff. I've found that bad things happen when you try to camp certain opponents (mainly space animals) because they only need to spot one hole and dart in. I've been doing much better against Fox by staying close, littering the area with bombs, chain-grabbing, tech chasing, etc.

Grabbing is so risky to do with YL. Often times your better off not grabbing unless your 95% sure it'll work. You just get punished harder than other characters and your grab range is short too. You have to out space him. Your hitboxes are bigger than his. Combo him with u-airs, bomb to n-air, more u-airs and edge guard/space appropriately.

Connect multiple up-throws. It works wonders on Fox.

Yup. You can pseudo chain grab fox and falco this way from 0-30ish%. You also have an almost gaurenteed grab vs big characters at lower %s if you bomb n-air combo them, then grab immediately when they hit the ground.

I'm in the process of going back to the drawing board with my Young Link. I'm compiling all kinds of notes. I'm prepping really hard for EVO now and I hope I can represent this character to the best of my abilities.

Unfortunately most of the Roy players died out when Neo stopped playing back in like 07.

Yeah, Roy is plenty fast and strong. His recovery is garbage, but it can be worked around.

Its just Roy gets combo'ed really easily and has bad recovery =\
When I used to live in FL I picked YL against HBox all the time. He'd be like "how the hell do I fight this character" lol. Fun times. Young Link has a ton of potential.
OH YEAH. I remember those matches. Good times! We'll have to play at EVO for sure man.

So I had probably one of the nastiest combos I've ever done the other day in seriouslies with my rarely used Ylink. I was playing against a Fox, I naird them offstage(Very Low Percent) then Dair'd, got 3 hits off following the Di and the bounce that comes with landing the dair. Come out of the dair into weak hit nair, hookshot to wall jump Dair FireSpike. This was on FD btw.
