Psh, silly lake.
Zelda deserves to die.

Oh another cool thing, zelda is bad at dealing with people's shields. All her moves have bad shieldstun and quite a bit of endlag so you can punish anything she hits your shield with.

Once you get zelda into shield, she has two viable options.
A) kick. If you space yourself she cant hit you due to poor mobility and you can punish her slow *** jump

B) naryu's. I dont consider this truly viable, but some more gimmicky zeldas use it. It has surprising range, but is super weak and has a ton of endlag, CC and shield destroy it.

optimal DI on Zelda's throws is down and through her (specifically dthrow, if you DI wrong it combos into kick)
But you shouldnt get grabbed because zelda's grab is slower than tether chars and has not very much range.

You also just never need to let her get close enough to grab you.

Zelda's entire metagame pretty much relies on bad spacing from an opponent.
That's why a good Zelda can **** an average Marth.

Zelda gets wrecked pretty hard by marth... Lol.

Honestly, either be right in her face or way out of her range.
You have no place in between.

I don't deny Marth destroys Zelda, that's why I said AVERAGE Marths vs a GOOD Zelda.
A couple years ago when I was still developing my Marth I played against someone who used to main Zelda, my spacing was awful and I ate fair on every stock.
You do know a long ways back Zelda was pretty high on the tier list?

YL has the advantage if he plays it correctly.
Zelda can play it correctly and still get eaten alive by projectiles.
She also dies early and can actually get comboed pretty well.

YL tends to really mess up floaties in a similar way that Link does, its really just Marth that gives him big issues cuz of the long metal stick.

Holy crap I just learned something new!

Sorry if this is already known by all you guys. I had no idea about this though lol.

So the super jump glitch in 1.0 and 1.1...

I found out that if you press B right after you catch the boomerang, you'll go WAY higher!

I guess the arrow just cancels somehow, and for some reason makes him go a lot higher. The sooner you press B (after he catches the boomerang), the higher you'll go.

Normally you can pull like 4/5 bombs before you touch the floor, but with this you can pull 10+ bombs all while still in the air.

Also he shoots off to the side of the screen for some reason, instead of towards the middle of the stage. I'm having a lot of fun with this lol.

Yup... I love Young Link :)

In 1.0/1.1, throw a boomerang and then tether the stage. If you catch the boomerang while you're hanging on your tether, you will rocket upwards.

^I mean I've already known about the super jump for years now. I just didn't know about this "arrow cancel" trick that makes you go like 5x as high lol. Has this already been known?

Lol the Axe jump hahaha.

I don't have any recording equipment :( There's a ton of tricks you can do in 1.0 and 1.1 that helps out YL a lot

1.0 needs to be legal!

reminds me of how luigi's initial aerial momentum is maintained when he uses his fireball, giving birth to vududashing. possibly the same mechanic actually...

If I had the time and software I'd be willing to make a compilation of Mr.Williamson's 1.0 shenanigans to prove why it should be allowed/standard.

If it lasts that long with ylink...how long could it last with link? I think the biggest problem is just how much damage you tack on while you float up there haha.
