Butchered is a little extreme. I'd say he took a long period of time, not toning his body, while sitting in a dark corner, keeping others from taking his bread.

I was thinking about picking up Brawl a bit... You know, cause even though it's not as good as melee, I can still enjoy it. I mean, I play lots of games aren't nearly as good as melee...

Then I saw how many posts this thread has, and changed my mind.

After about three months of playing brawl, I was tired of seeing only snake and metaknight all the time. I missed the diversity of characters you could be in melee and still win in a tournament. And cuz samus (my fav char) was good in melee.

I started disliking it in the first few minutes experiencing with falco and fox, dont get me wrong, i still tried to work with the so called AT's (wavebouncing, character specific's) but in the end, i just couldnt deal with it
especially when some of my friends hopped on to brawl and thought melee was just old news...

Let's see I finally realized Brawl failed when:

1) Snake's repeated jab can block 80% of projectiles.
2) When I found out that not only can you trip, you can air trip as well.
3) I could recover at 170% with Marth even though he's been made lighter and floatier.
4) You could air dodge out of any combo let alone DI.
5) Metaknight's tornado & shuttle loop
6) You can't edgeguard most characters cuz they can all recover from the magnifying glass with little effort.
7) Marth's Dancing Blade & Shieldbreaker
8) Captain Falcon can't knee + wears knee pads (wtf!?)
9) That attacking is pointless cuz the ammont of spam you'd normally have to attempt to bypass isn't worth just camping instead
10) Short hop aerials had like no lag and was actually worse to fast fall most of the time cuz you'd get lag. Basically, it made it easy for ppl who's fingers were too slow to shuffle.
11) Rolling, spot dodge, and air dodge spamming is too easy and so hard to punish due to insane invincibility times and lack of methods to punish.
12) Auto-sweetspot, nuff said.
13) The most popular john after I beat someone in Melee is now, I'd win if it were Brawl.

And many more reasons that I'm too lazy to list. My favorite argument is that I'm not smart/good enough to play Brawl. To me, it's' not hard seeing what most entry level people will do. But unlike Melee, I don't have any tools to punish them for mistakes and everything is so safe and easy that they really can't be punished to begin with. It's like telling me build a house, but you're not allowed to use tools cuz that's too cheap. -_-

From what Vulcan just said, the first part is combos (Melee), and the second part is a simple and boring exchange (or at least that's how I interpret the second half)...

hey guys, Im an 08er, but dont judge me on that!! I absolutely love melee with a passion!!! I played brawl for a week and got bored of it, my friends, unfortunately, encouraged me to give it another shot which didnt make me think any differently of it, so as of now, im back to playing melee which is ALWAYS fun, brawl for me has its up days and its down days. Some days, its mildly entertaining, whereas, other days it's as boring as watching paint dry. Melee characters seem more balanced to me because even the lower teir chars, bowser, jiggz, G&W, yes G&W was Good if you knew how to play him, and many others had a very good chance of beating your higher teir chars; a good example of this is gimpyfish; he plays bowser and makes the marth's he battles look like nubcakes, well maybe not but he is amazing with bowser. Also, M2K is verry good with mewtwo, he fought many top teir falcos and won with 1-2 stocks remaining. In brawl, the only chars ive seen win tournies were metaknight, pit, and snake; winning in brawl relies much more on the matchup rather than the skill of the player ex bowser will most likely not be able to defeat snake or pit. I am for, and will always be for, Melee!!!!!!! Just the sound of "melee" has a nice ring to it; "brawl".....nope not the same
