The mechanics for multiplayer mode probably won't be affected by anything in single. Again--the consequences for using FS with Sam is turning into Zam. And seeing how items are banned from tourneys, the only way to use Zam in competitive games is some sort of work-around (A-button cheat).

Single player mode has always affected multiplayer mode. Unlocking characters is meant to be done using single player mode - ending on x:x2 time in Mushroom Kingdom for Luigi, beating the game with Marth to get Roy, or beating all the Target Tests. I can't see how ZSS would be different.

you know what i just realized. i think this is a very realistic idea. i think to unlock ZSS you have to use samus final smash in single player mode or something, and then after the fight, it'll be like, a new challenger arrives. and it will be ZSS. but then in multiplayer, she will be playable as her own character...peace

possibly the holding A-button cheat workaround. or the unlocabke thing like h1roshi described on the prev page. if even character has those cool entrances like they did in ssb64 (dont know why the **** they removed it from melee cuz they were the t!ts) they sexy suit samus' entrance would probably be the shedding of the suit

That wouldn't make sense. It was stated on the website that the consequences for using Samus's FS was that she turns into Zamus. The only way I can see the transformation happening is...hmmm, through the use of the Smash Ball.

Sure, odds are leaning in your favor, but there are still possibilities for there to be another method to access the character, so it would be smart to just quit whining and just wait till it is disprooven.

Man, that didn't tell us very much. Okay, I still think that Zamus is a saperate selectable characters despite the fact that Sakurai seems intent on beating "Samus becomes Zamus when she loses her armor" into our heads. Why not make Zamus a selectable character? All he has to do is add another slot on the character select screen. It's not like he has to worry about saving space.

But having Zamus as her own seperate character slot would be even worse now. Gathering from Sakurai's working from yesterdays update he practically said that Zamus was worse than Samus and for Zamus to throw her armour, that must be one weak character. Sakurai puts Samus final smash in so when she uses it she has a conseqence and that is to turn into the weaker Zamus.

Hopefully what I just wrote is totally wrong because I sure dont want Zamus to be bottom tier.

The whole Zamus thing has got me so much more confused than I was a month ago. I almsot wonder if there will be soem sort of conditions like an event where you have to overcome Samus w/ varia suit and you could unlock Zamus with just the zero suit. Just look at the way she is described, as a fast character that is able to compensate for a lack of an arsenal, she exemplifies that which has proven to be great about characters from melee. Fox is agile, relatively lax in the field of an arsenal, and is a top tier character. Marth has ONE weapon in his arsenal, Falcon just has the knee ( XD ), and so on. Zero Suit Samus has so much potential to be a competitive character, that it would be an across the board shame if she weren't playable except as the result of a final smash.

But from the video and pic's we can already tell that her physical attaks and special attacks are different from what we've seen.

the missiles, blaster, bombs, screw attack and upsmash are the only nonaerial moves that would need tweak that leaves all her tilts and all her other smashes. only thing that would exhibit a major changes is all her B attacks

no, no, no, no, NO...you got me all wrong. i was saying IF SAKURAI WANTED TO BE A PURIST THEN he would preserve samus' moveset for sexy suit samus while only modifying the ones that require the suit a.k.a the entire B special movesets of regular samus and the A attacks that use the flamethrower. BUT SSS has a completely DIFFERENT moveset from samus entirely thus proving she is a SEPARATE CHARACTER. however she is ONLY ACCESSIBLE THROUGH SAMUS as far as we know. i shouldve made this more clear before, but im hoping you see what i mean now
