Hey, I'm looking for more fighting games to play and as of right now I'm stuck between choosing Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition and Blazblue Continuum Shift.
I'm not sure which one to get based because they both look fun in their own ways. Anyone mind listing the pros and cons of each game?
Assuming you don't have either SSFIV, or BlazBlue Calamity Trigger, I'd recommend Arcade Edition. Granted, I've not tried it yet, but I've played enough SSFIV to have a decent idea of how the game plays, new characters and tier shifts excluded. I've also not played CS yet, so I'm probably not the best person to be advising you on this XD.
Street Fighter is a much more slow paced game, with a larger character roster, so if you like a lot of characters, then SF is great. However, BlazBlue has a much more diverse roster, even if it is much shorter. They are both technical, SF focuses on timing and linking moves together, whereas BB has quick button press combos, so its pretty easy to create a decent combo number, although its in no way a beginners game- its just more accessible. SF has a solid online mode, I don't know about BB but it seems to be active on here at least.
If your one of those rare people that care about things other than versus modes, then SF has a standard arcade mode with two bonus stages, as well as character combo trials that are pretty ridiculous, both to execute, and in practicality, whereas I know BB at least has a fully fledged visual novely story mode, as well as an arcade mode, and possibly some challenges now.
The key factor is that SSFIVAE is getting a free balance update sometime in the future, whereas BBCS will be getting a new revision, with new modes, at least one new character, and the 3 characters that you'd have to buy for £5/$7 (not sure if those prices are right, just going of the internet) each if you went out and got BBCS now.
But yeah, I'm sure some people with a broader knowledge for the technicalities of these games will be able to help you more lol.
