This probably sounds strange, but I'm now considering getting a PS2. If you could only define the system's catalog with three-to-eight major games, what would those games be?
In my opinion, I'd go with...

FFX
Jak and Daxter
Silent Hill 2
DMC 3
Shadow of Colossus
Kingdom Hearts
God of War
MGS 3: Substance

So, can anyone help me find a game like Fire Emblem? You know, a strategy game with likable characters?

Beat Dragon Age. My Game lineup:

Pokemon (Dream World, Battle Tower, etc)
Mortal Kombat (lol)

------- Those two will be around for a year+ --------

God of War Collection
Breath of Fire II (Capcom needs to revive this series. This game is like.. the bane of my gaming existence)
Moon Diver (Out of Commission until PSN is up)

So yeah, thinking I'mma do this:

Pokemon/MK aside:

God of War1>2> Get GoW3.
Breath of Fire II > ??? (Ideas? JRPG please. Thinking about Ar Tone Leco: The Rise of Knell (sp on that, lol)
Moon Diver (Co-op with my buddy) > Lost Planet 2... really need some input on this one :3

So guys portal 2 or Mortal Kombat

I want both so badly but I cant decide which one to get

And don't take PSN's downing in account of which one because I'll probably play both in single player for most of the time

Portal 2. Get the PS3 version since you also get the Steam version (for free) as well.

@Lythium, if it isn't one of the Raging Blast games where I can literally Mystic Ball Attack/XXXY button spam with Kid Buu and literally just win with that, then trust me I'll NEVER win any online matches. I SUCK at fighting games (or as I've recently realized, any multiplayer game. No really, even at CoD. I've never shown to be amazingly good at any video game for some reason and I just think competitive play isn't my thing unless I find that one game) and I usually play the single player modes of MK for hours on end anyways. Did that with Armageddon as well and it never bothered me.

@F8AL, not really something I'd care about honestly just because my computer is ********

I say MK. It has a lot of offline content.

Also, MK is easy.

I played SSFIV. Lost bad.
MvC3..same

But on MK I do decent. I think those capcom fighters toughened me up. And I played SSFIV3DS yesterday, and did so much better than I used too.

Weird.

I'm not totally sure Marvel helped, but I know Street Fighter did. I was doing Air Haodkens and combos on the 3ds. (While that doesn't sound much, it took me forever to do that) like it was nothing yesterday. I kinda wanna pick up SSFIV later..but I feel like it'd beeasier with a stick.

It's not as bad as Brawl, but it's way too fast.

SSFIV is ridiculously hard, but you can at least feel where you're at.

MVC3 you're all over the place, you loose yourself, one combo can take out a character, etc.

MK is just da bess<3

Should I get a Mac Computer or a Custom Built PC? lolz. I realize this is the gaming thread, I'm just messin'. I really gotta figure this out though, and how bad*** the itouches/iphones are make me wanna see their other st00f

MvC sucks? I heard good **** about it

Is it like the Barwl if the series or something?

:phone:
I didn't say it sucks, though I don't care much for MvC3. It's fine, I guess, but there are a lot of things that I don't like about it. Anyway, I was just saying that your execution becomes way worse after playing MvC3. The input buffer in that game is actually ridiculous.

And yes, for the most part, a lot of MvC2 players view MvC3 as Melee to Brawl. But that can be said of a lot of fighting games, so don't read too much into it.

I would appreciate it if someone could name me a few visual novel/mystery games. I've played 999, Ace Attorney, Myst, Hotel Dusk, and Another Code. Can you kind fellows give me a few others?

The sequel to "Hotel Dusk: Room 215". (Last Window: The Secret of Cape West)

Unfortunately, Nintendo never released the game in NA so you'll either have to import it from EU or some other means...(which I'm not allowed to discuss on this forum.)

It's a great game, not as good as Hotel Dusk: Room 215, but some of the characters are very memorable and the story is pretty damn good if I do say so myself. :3

Pick it up if you're willing to spend the extra money to import it!

Guys so seeing as I have Gamefly I was trying to see what game I should get but I don't really have any idea what to get. Can you suggest to me anything for the 360/PS3 that's not an RPG?

I'm looking for some advice on which game to get. Steam is currently having a sell and I have 4 dollars on me so after looking at the games I've narrowed my options between these games:

Half Life 2
Plants vs Zombies
Garry's Mod
VVVVVV

Which one would give me more bang for my buck?

Half Life 2
Solid game, feeling a tad dated. Worth playing, but its far from the mind-****** masterpiece that everyone makes it out to be.

Plants vs Zombies
If you like simplistic games that aren't that much of a time sink then its pretty fun. I didn't find it that addictive but if you like tower defense then this is one of the better ones.

Garry's Mod
Fun to **** around in, but unless you happen to be particularly creative it gets boring pretty fast unless you play it in short periods.

Wonderfully original but hard as balls and really short.

It really comes down to what you're looking for. If you want a lengthy and fun game then get HL2, PVZ is if you just want something you can sit down and play for about twenty min. every once and a while (same goes for GM) and V is if you want something really original, if you can handle the briefness of the game.

Half Life sucks and I don't know why everybody gets mind ***** like they do when they watch Inception after playing it for like 20 minutes of it

I dunno about PC but PvZ was pretty fun when I played it on my friend's iPad

I got Gmod today since it was like 2 bucks. Eh, I don't get the point of it and I'm not creative enough to come up with a zany contraption (I'd be willing to play if I had a friend who'd play with me though)

And I only played the demo for VVVVVVV on Kongregate and I gues it's pretty cool, though I bet I can find about 10 other games that use gravity as a gimmick and not have to pay for it

EDIT:

Any other wonderfully cheap games I can find on Steam?

And by wonderfully cheap I mean something ranging to 4$ tops

Half Life is good, but overrated as hell.

VVVVVV, AVP, Plants VS Zombies, Magicka, Darksiders, Bioshock 2.
Idk maybe it's because I played the game like 5 years after it was released so I might not be getting it, but out of all the Orange Box games I played, Half-Life was definitely not among the ones I bought the pack for.

Eh, I don't like the list of games on there. I'll just wait later till more games get put on discount. I honestly can't believe how amazingly low some of these games go for. I'm astounded Steam is so generous as to put these games almost for free

During sales steam goes nuts with low prices. If my computer wasn't a piece of **** I would have already bought a ton of games.

That's generally why I don't want to buy a game right away because it'll likely be put up for more than half off later at a sale. The only time I buy is when I HAVE to buy it because it looks awesome like Terraria. If it wasn't for that, then my entire library would be empty bar Terraria

Yeah, me too. I think the most expensive game in my Steam library is Left 4 Dead 2, which I bought for $20.

L4D2 FTW!

That game definetly looks awesome and killing the hell out of those zombies is fun, but does it have good multiplayer?

I haven't really played it much, I'm expecting to get a very good desktop very soon though.
