Like everyone else theirs is just faster than their dashing speed. Nothing special or spectacular looking.how good is Metaknight's or Peach's wavedash?
The man speaks the truth. If you don't like Brawl, don't play it with us. Simple as.I would rather create my own PC version of smash than put up with endless Brawl hacks.

Don't worry. I'll purposefully avoid any competition where hacks are allowed. If you don't like hacked Brawl, don't play it with us. Simple as.
Brawl cost you 50 quid? Where the hell were you shopping?Don't worry. I'll purposefully avoid any competition where hacks are allowed.
It's not me that's wasted the best part of £50 for version 2 of a game released seven years ago, so it really doesn't bother me.
No.Wow, If this hack gets popular enough I'd bet that the SBR is going to consider it part of the rules and they'll use it at tournies.
This will really change the teir list. Characters like Jiggls will finally rise again becuase nobody won't be able to escape her chain of b airs off the edge anymore. A lot more characters will be able to chain throw/ combo too.
Well you can't add a hack unless you turn the game off, put your SD card in your computer, overwrite the code file, and then restart Brawl. Unless I'm just not using Ocarina correctly.No.
No.
This will never be considered tournament standard. Get that through your heads guys. If we let hacks into tournaments, how can we be sure that someone won't abuse this and add some subtle hack in at the same time to give a certain person the advantage? It's not very secure.
Plus, Brawl is not Melee 2.0, and it's not supposed to be Melee 2.0.
Alright, I'll admit that it could be considered, but I highly doubt that it would ever actually become tournament standard. How do you know, good sir?
But the problem is, someone could easily just do it from the start. It could be a subtle difference, one that's not noticable, but still enough to make a difference.Well you can't add a hack unless you turn the game off, put your SD card in your computer, overwrite the code file, and then restart Brawl. So therefor that would be very difficult and not sneaky at all. And people hosting tournaments should be MONITORING each game.
Other than that, the only reason it won't be made tourney standard is because not everyone can get a hacked Wii. Of course, it is very easy to do compared to a lot of other hacks, but it's still difficult (and illegal?) enough that not everyone will do it.
Do you mean a player or a tournament host? The tournament host should be the one setting up the game and keeping it under supervision for the entire tournament. So that means the player wouldn't have a chance to do that. I see what you mean, I just can't see it happening.Alright, I'll admit that it could be considered, but I highly doubt that it would ever actually become tournament standard.

Someone might also forget to turn off other codes, and one person is just holding R just 'cause, and then suddenly you're playing on Home Run Contest.

I'm going to school. I'll be back later. (:
you cannot jump out of the shinewaveshine video pl0x.
When's L-canceling coming? I AM curious to play a broken Brawl.
Not to get people's hopes up or anything, but I'm in college for Digital Media (I already know quite a bit of programming) right now and that's exactly what I plan to do, hopefully before I graduate (I'm a freshman).I would rather create my own PC version of smash than put up with endless Brawl hacks.
Neat. Though I doubt this will become a tournament standard.
Do a code for L-canceling instead, think its more important.
Imagine how good Link would be with L canceling.
Dair would be awesome.
I have always been an advocate of brawl is completely different game from melee and people should accept it. Sadly too many of friends refuse to play brawl and some even sold wii cuz of it. If we can WDing to work, as well as L-Canceling (i believe some already discovered the code hitstun), i am full support of this movement.
Although I really would love to play Brawl with L-cancelling and hitstun, I think that might break it. Wavedashing is nice, and sort of speeds up the game, but it isn't SUPER gamebreaking like L-cancelling or hitstun would be. I mean, of course I would love to try it, but I'm not going to say that they would really fit into Brawl.
Edit: Source on hitstun code please.
Lets try to keep our posts relevant to debugging the code. Make a different thread to discuss these ideas and opinions.I think L-cancelling may be a bit much; if you just drop the lag on characters like Ganon, Link and Falcon that should be enough. I'm not sure I really want to see Snake going Fair to Utilt, or Metaknight running around with less lag on aerials than on his jump.
If L-cancelling WERE implemented, as someone already mentioned, the actual press of the L button should not be necessary. It doesn't take much tech skill (10 minutes of practice, come on) and with Brawl's ridiculous shields they would come up way too often even in the hands of pros.
As for hitstun, I think it would be interesting but... Metaknight? TBH I think disabling AD's would make combos a lot easier even without hitstun; it might be enough on its own.
EDIT: So the newest code fixes both ROB and Sheik-Zelda/Samus-Zamus/PT?
EDIT2:

Interesting, I'll give it a try.I found something neat. If you use Z instead of L/R to airdodge, and stay it in a perfect horizontal line, you can actually wavedash. Try it with Ice Climbers: Nana actually follow you!
Ever more curious. Are you sure your controller isn't on neutral? Try unplugging it and plugging it back in.Even better: If you don't touch the joystick, you can like wavedash on place. So like you're running, let go of joystick and perform this standing wavedash, you can pull out any move right away.
*Tries* no it works perfectly fine.Ever more curious. Are you sure your controller isn't on neutral? Try unplugging it and plugging it back in.
.... Fine, but no one answered my relevant question.Lets try to keep our posts relevant to debugging the code. Make a different thread to discuss these ideas and opinions.
Isn't this the same as just wavedashing downwards in Melee?Even better: If you don't touch the joystick, you can like wavedash on place. So like you're running, let go of joystick and perform this standing wavedash, you can pull out any move right away.
