Well it wasn't lol. And no this post isn't sarcastic either.

I'm not completely against having a B bracket I just think its a waste of time. We could be doing crew battles or something.

:( I just typed up a long post but it was a rant and I didn't want people to get angry so I deleted it :(

In fact, I wouldn't have returned if people didn't get sucking up to me with compliments about my commentary. Mostly Vlade, actually. It gets a bit boring getting constantly rolled each tournament, half the time by your own stupidity. :(

Holy 29,301 posts Travman! Mic has somehow turned Graeme into his avatar!

And I agree with Bob the B bracket idea for larger tournaments is great since they are still acknowledged as being there and get the practice/games they deserve. Plus alot of people don't take friendlies seriously.

Jupz i think you forget that the B bracket takes place at the same time as the A bracket_ There wouldn't be sufficient players available to have crews or doubles whilst the A bracket is running and this helps to utilize space also_

Don't lie to us Mic_ Didn't you notice Graeme drives a Tardis_

I am so borrowing my friends Sonic Screwdriver.

Anyway Jupz the thing you're missing is growth. My friend Dean, he went in, he won his pool, got chain grabbed to **** by you, lost to someone else really good, he found it dull because once eliminated not much else to do. Now think about those new ones who never made it through pools, they walk in pay venue, pay for a couple of games in pools and that's it.

For people like you, Alister, Sam, Ric, etc. It's fine since you get through you get your games, for people like me I'll get in depending on my pool, and sitting around for 5 hrs doesn't seem fun. Hence if we get to the point we need pools than a B Bracket should be implemented for these newer people.

Well if you bothered to read shmots comments about the B bracket_ They are only single elimination_ I'm sure you could sacrifice at least 2 setups for those to be held_ In a large scale national tournament you will generally have more than enough setups to accommodate holding a B bracket, especially if the matches are single elimination_ It's all about good organisation Jupz_

Why are you so keen to not hold one when the benefits positives outweigh the negatives_?

EDIT: I never made it through pools when we trialled them Jupz and it was the first time i found myself bored and embarrassed_ The key factor to take into consideration here is how many people were left at the end of the day when pools where involved compared to when we usually hold double elimination brackets_? More people staying around having fun = scene growth_

Marteh can you bring a wii around mine tomorrow plx_? Mines getting borrowed atm_

I left after pools before time we had them, since there was no reason for me to hang around. Would've just been awfully boring for me, to further Bob's point.

Yeah I guess it makes sense for the scene growth. I didn't think about that beforehand lol. I actually realized it would be a good idea a while ago but I just didn't want it because I'm a ****** :( It just seemed kinda pointless at the time and I wasn't thinking sorry :(

Much better Jupzon! Good boy.
And yeah Bob dw, Graeme called me about it.

I still say for now we stick with double elimination bracket unless the scene gets too big.

No need to apologise_ Thanks for the kind words of wisdom Scoot (captain obvious), it honestly never occurred to me to play friendlies in my down time during tournaments_ I'll make sure to make good use of your advice at our upcoming tournament_

I always ask people for friendlies lol. I've played everyone in the scene quite a bit. Mainly alzi because he's always standing in the middle of the room too shy to talk to anyone :embarrass. And I verse Glenn quite a bit. And Vlade and Kane aswell.

So it's settled then :p B Bracket will be trialled next tourney!!!

I am curious to see who'll fall in what brackets though :p To be honest there seems to be like a top 6 in our scene, and most of the rest are pretty close in ability...

Ditto - I have Lucario experience coming out of my freakin' ears T.T

So based on 16 people turnout, I assume 4 pools of 4people each??

We can still run pools with like 24 people (this is just an easy number for me, but tio can do the work)

Just have 6 pools of 4, top 2 of each pool advance to a 12 man double elimination bracket while the other 12 compete in a single elimination B bracket

Sound cool? It's all up to Trav but I'd be willing to supply a Toblerone for the winner of the B Bracket as a bit of an incentive :)

i still dont understand, is a "pool" like a group of people that vs each other in set matches? or what? and then do they move on to the winner or loser pools?
blegh.

It's like the world cup in soccer

You have a group which is your 'pool'. In this pool you play round robin, meaning you verse everyone in your pool. The top # (decided by the TO) from each pool advance into the normal bracket

WTF is this_? I wasn't arguing that we should have pools as of now_ I was arguing that if the scene grows large enough that we should have pools and the B bracket would be a good idea_ Pools with 24 people is a joke as you have sufficient time to hold a 24 player double elimination tournament_

There is no need to trial a B bracket because it works and is proven to work in Japan who has quite large turnouts_ The concept is quite simple so i don't think a trial is necessary unless people really fail to grasp the concept_

So no-one was seedin from our ranking list we had created for that very reason_? If so i put that down to laziness as the rankings where there for seeding to be arranged in a proper way for all tournaments_ Nobody can use the excuse that seeding couldn't be used in our double elimination brackets because all the info was there to be used_ This is appalling and completely unnecessary_ BTW, the rankings from last year are still there ladies so don't be scared to use them_

Yeah I agree with Bob on this one. Pools + A bracket + B bracket will take too long and unless we pull 40-50 people then theres no point.

I like the way he types it should never change.

That Japan tournament had 96 people in it i believe having pools + a B bracket was common sense.

Our tournaments would get about 25 people, having pools + a B bracket is not common sense.

Ok someone tell me now have you ever vsed either Sam, Ric, Vlade then went into Loser bracket and vsed either Sam, Ric, Vlade. Tell us now and we will see how many times that has happened then maybe seeding would be good. The only problem i find with pools is this:

Pool 1:
Vlade
Bob
Trill
Pete

Now we know who is going to lose and win from this pool straight away but say if Vlade and Bob went through that will leave trill and pete out of the Tournament and Trill is a decent player and places high somtimes. Having the B bracket makes this fair by giving trill and pete a second chance am i right?

But you get what i mean about pools and how they can be lame somtimes since it could have 3 good players but one has to go. It's like your family and your house is on fire and you can save either your mum, dad or grandmother or somthing.

So I need a teammate since Jupz can't make it to the tournament, if Rick already has someone then yeah I'll be vacant

Coz I assume Marteh's definitely going with Josh yeah?

Yeah i know but it was just an example i just said Vlade and Bob since they where 1st and second on the list i put. Don't take that list seriously though it was just a example.

I've been top 8 in every single Tourney :D i think..
