Lol, I didn't really say much; only took out few parts I wanted to note. I'll do a better one if you want to.

K fine, one before I go to sleep. I might start critiquing vids during school now, lol. Second semester senior yesssssssss.

Game 1:

Overall things I noticed

*I really like the way you handle the defensive game. You didn't really get punished for shielding or spotdodging at all, which is an incredibly solid trait to have as a player.

*In a similar vein, you keep momentum going well. Again, it's very solid, and I didn't see you try to press advantages further than you should have to cause a reversal.

*If Falco is SHDLing, and you're in range, DASH GRAB HIS LANDING. It's an extremely useful approach that I've found works quite well.

*I love the way you punish Phantasm. It's a move I struggle with greatly, and seeing your options for beating it (namely shield > shield drop jab or whatever) is an extremely useful thing to know.

First Stock:

0:00 - 0:07 - Like I mentioned above, Dash Grab is a useful approach when Falco is SHDLing and you're in range for it. You were in range at this time and you got a bit too defensive and got stuck in your shield.

0:14 - Nice landing trap. I think you could have done better than an Uthrow to punish, though.

0:16-0:18 - Dash grab the SHDL! You got scared when he was landing and ended up getting grabbed for it.

0:28-0:30 - Good reaction for not double jabbing the air. Helped you escape punishment.

0:32-0:34 - That Phantasm punish. Shielding it is MUCH more usable than I thought. Good stuff.

0:44 - Risky trade to be doing, especially when you have a lead like that.

0:49-0:50 - Dash Grab approach opportunity again. What you did happened to work out this time, though, and it put you in a good spot.

0:58-1:00 - Nice option selection after pratfalling. I've been a fan of laying there myself, lately.

1:03-1:07 - You airdodged into Falco. It's usually not a good idea, and you didn't get directly punished for it this time, but it's not something beneficial to do the majority of the time.

1:18-1:20 - The readssssssssssssssssssssss. Usmash too good.

1:33-1:35 - Good work on Defense there.

1:38-1:40 - K, you've done this a lot now. Running up and spotdodging to approach has its uses, but you reaaally need to mix it up a bit. You could have dash grabbed his landing. Pretty much any time Falco SHs, you can dash grab his landing as an approach.

1:46-1:49 - You're fishing for a gimp/edge guard. Don't press your advantage too much.

2:03-2:05 - Isn't that supposed to be an auto gimp?

2:23-2:25 - Ballsy Nair, but it paid off.

2:29-2:34 - Nice string.

2:36-2:38 - You started to get a little antsy on defense, which basically led to you getting Usmashed.

Second Stock

2:45-2:49 - I see you trying to duck them lasers. =P

2:52 - wtf Usmash why?

2:56-3:01 - You got antsy on defense again, which got you grabbed, and then you airdodged in. You were playing very solidly from disadvantage/defense before, and you seemed to be slipping a bit at this point...

3:05-3:08 - Spotdodge approach. :mad::mad::mad:

3:12 - I noticed you started dropping the CG a bit at this point.

3:25-3:28 - So much spotdodging. @_@ Calm down with it and intercept his landing when he's lasering.

3:34-3:37 - Now there's that solid defense again. Shield mindgames for days.

3:50-3:51 - You shoulda Nair/Uair'd instead of Fair'd. It looked like you had time to react to his whiffed Fsmash.

3:52-3:54 - Don't fish for kills! Falco is extremely good at evening up percent differences, so your stock advantage is huge! Ride it out as long as possible.

3:59-4:01 - You committed WAY too hard to airdodging into the center of the stage while recovering there. It's not necessarily a bad option, just the way you did it in this instance was kinda bad.

Third Stock

4:12-4:14 - Not exactly sure what you were going for here...

4:21-4:23 - You Down B'd the wrong way!

4:26-4:28 - Lol he failed the CG.

After more indepth critique review: Really solid gameplay and a lot of your habits are good. I don't know if you knew about it before, but dash grab/Usmash Falco when he's SHing, whether or not he's lasering. It's a really good tool and I'd say more reliable than running spotdodge.

You also try to force the kill a bit too hard (Fsmashing at neutral/fishing for edge guards). Make sure you're aware of the stock/percent situation when making decisions like that. It's important to keep stock advantages on Falco, because, for example, if he killed you at that moment (3:52-3:54), all he would have needed was one grab to bring you to like, 60%, which really mitigates the HUGE advantage you had.

That took longer than I thought. I'm tired and I'm going to bed. Enjoy for now!

What video did you watch, again? I recall camping my balls off to get him to ~100% and only getting hit by lasers till 290%.

Okay.

If that IS the case, we can just instantly grab the ledge anyways. Like, they have no mixup potential, and that'll edgehog them. If they up b, we can just ECE or Down B Snap to refresh, although in my experience they can't even make it close with up b. :awesome:

I guess we'll put Falco third in our to discuss list...

Zelda's stupid. >_>''

Did you get your bag back yet?

Here is another one of me with stingers from the same day. I do much better this time around then i did in my other video but i still feel like im missing something when im playing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mTrIDh7Xew&feature=relmfu

Falco is literally the reason I get out in tournaments. He's the only character that I dont somewhat consistently take to the last game (outside of X's Sonic cuz it's just beastly).

Yoshi Salt.

Random: everytime I see Stocky's avi, I think of how easy that "boss" was in game. So I naturally end up thinking that Stocky's mad free. :p

On topic, I'll watch these videos later this week and have a critique going.
Does everyone have matching avatars to where am i when these things happen squaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Well, I haven't gotten a return package yet, so it should hopefully still be on its way!

I see you're using the scanned picture. :bee:
I hope so! I'm really looking forward to the day I can stop using reusable grocery bags to carry my textbooks. :x

Hell yes I'm using the scanned picture. B|

Sorry for posting later, thanks to you two for the crtitics, I'm completely okay the problem is here. To solve them will be a bit harder, especially for the don't get grabbed against Falco (I don't really know how to approach, I know he wants to grab me, but his SHDL works well to trasform Yoshi's Bair into Fair, I also have difficulties to dash grab him, so I don't really have find some effective solutions to punish that. I think I do good stuff against D3 and IC's for that, but really not against falco =)

don't dash grab while you're running towards them, it needs to come out very surprisingly and fast.

I have yet to learn to DR. I won't yet either, until I get replays up.
Going to a tourney this month, should be two setups there for possible recording.

I'm tired of being bad. I want critique.

There are much more important things to learn before Dr. Not saying its bad or not helpful, just u should be beating high level players before focusing on DR. All that time could be spent learning basics

That's not what you said at all.

You said you won't learn it until you get replays up. Not until you get good.
