Orion, this is not a **** combo video thread. If I have mistakes, you are here to help me.
I lost to the Snake and missed lot of punishes because he is a good player and I suck in the matchup. Problem?
Don't post a video on a critique thread and then get angry when someone makes a reasonable response.

That wasn't a reasonable response. Saying don't watch this match it sucks is not a reasonable response. >_>

are you telling me that match is worth watching LMFAO?

look at it. honestly like. other than just obvious mistakes that you can look at and fix for yourself (like airdodging into thunder, getting hit by a random attack by your spacing is bad, ect) there is NOTHING to LEARN from that match.

note the two large letters in cap's. the fact that you looked and wanted that match critiqued, yet i give a match where actual interaction is going on and you say "i missed punishes and i suck at the matchup" already indicates that theres a LOT more you to learn from that match instead of the one you linked.

id rather you learn how to conceptually look at own matches( and critique them eventually) rather than just go herp derp lemme pick a match i won vs. a scrub pikachu

edit: k going to watch bpcs stuff now, ill make a double post if nobody sais anything by the time im done because id rather not put the above and bpcs stuff in the same post

All right, then please, watch another one of the tournament matches and critique them instead. I would appreciate. But giving an aggressive comment like "don't watch this match" or "you suck" isn't very nice.

it was an aggressive comment, however if you actually read it, i never said you suck. i said it makes both players look bad, and its not worth watching. because i honestly didnt think it was, and then i linked to something that made you look better, despite you losing.

ill watch yours after bpcs in a min im sorry school work always takes priority :)

thoughts from briefly watching lzr

you nado a LOT from the SAME position, and its very easy to read. better snakes will punish you every time, and eventually harder.

dont let yourself get grabbed, many times he just bthrew but a dthrow can lead to MASSIVE damage or stock

your ground game legit only consists of fair and random dash grabs that didnt work both times so try and do more w. it. you didnt even run in and shield once and he is a happy ftilter

bpc yours is shorter

youre not thinking at all, just camping and then when youre forced to approach against fox on fd (herp derp wasting time) then you are legitimately just covering options that the fox player is not taking

ie. rolling, or w.e

so since you arent applying hitboxes and fighting him, and only dealing damage when he ****s up, then you lost.

when you actually fought him you where winning

think about that

So wait... I should've just been more aggressive? I gotta go look at that vid again...

You cp'ed FD against fox...? Well that's err your first mistake.
Ignoring MK's gay stages... taking fox to battlefield is a much better choice. Or brinstar or rainbow cruise *hehee*

It was game one and a ****ing 3-starter stage list and I despise battlefield; even moreso against a char like fox (god DAMMIT german stagelists suck ***; I mean, 3 starters AND RC is banned!!! It's ****ing AWFUL! No stage johns, but **** dude, I ended up taking his DK to Frigate because I couldn't think of anything better because almost all of MK's good stages are banned >.>)... I should've struck FD, I know, but ****...

I didn't expect him to go DK at all... I mean, I had just spent the last day and a half trouncing all of the other 5 DK mains (I **** you not there were 6 DK mains at this tournament out of like 20 people!); like, it was only close against one of them. This is why NeK when falco game 1 (even though he doesn't play falco). Plus, even if I cp'd FD, he could've just switched to fox, right?

then frigate is fine lmao, it wouldnt have been much better in a EC stagelist either w/ rc unbanned

you wouldve gone brinstar and dk wouldve wrecked you for not knowing the stage probably lmfao

i Personally wouldve just gone ps1 but i just like that stage vs dk and spacies. frigate is better probably

i personally just like ps1, probably my 2nd favorite cp lol.

but at kassy, you used RC really well but after you lost your first stock you got really flustered and then it was just easy reads for ally imo.

also, after ally sded, you shouldve gone for the timeout LMAO

I would love to pick Piazzale or Halberd against DK, just to shark him.
His shield is so bad, he can´t do anything and if he jumps up to avoid the sharking he will get in a really bad position. xD

How terrible that MK doesn't have auto-win stages.

plaza is my favorite stage in general, but dk has mad gimmicks there. also, id rather him not occasionally get saved, or get free spikes from the water

haldberd is cool but only if you can deal w/ pocket snakes there lol id rather not take the risk

the mu is already Heavily in mks favor just go someplace comfy

I like to pick Halber against mk, because our dsmash kills @ 80 :-)
Staco, next time we´ll play some friendlies on that stage :D

Cadet, get better. I mean I wasn´t playing good at all, too but you just need to get better overall as player.

then fd also would be a risk to pick against dk, cause of pocket diddys/snakes/falcos/ics etc.
even if I don´t think the MUs are unwinnable on that stage, just play them out well, also ICs

but yeah, the MU shouldnt give too much trouble, except the dk is really really good and deserved to win cause of that

do you need like 100-0 mus to win? LOL

id rather just win my 65/35 on ps1 than risk going even
Why wouldn't you counter-pick to get a better match-up? Just because it's easily winnable doesn't mean that there's any reason to not make it worse for your opponent.

unless i personally know that players secondaries and potential very well, they could have a huge number of pocket characters which go even or near even against mk on fd.

gotta agree here, MK should never CP anyone to FD, you have better options in the rare MU's where it's not THEIR best stage against you anyway

like if youre in your own region and you know the players go for it, ex: before vinnie had a pocket ics, it would be perfectly okay for me to take him to FD. hes also extremely good on cp stages so it may not be even worth it to go there vs him.

However, when you are travelling, or playing against unfamiliar players from different regions you DONT KNOW what they have up their ***.

I know, I know... I got another smashfest this weekend... Let's hope this works.

Also, yeah, CPing FD against G&W and Wario is a great idea until you realize that they can switch and probably have a Diddy, Falco, or something...

I am where I am
So I know it's only one clip, but still, I'd like to see what you guys say about it. This is me playing Sake. He is power ranked 7th best in norcal. Norcal isn't that good :( This was a tourny match and it is also the last match between us. I beat him but this was the only time I've beaten his snake with metaknight. Any tips would be much appreciated. Things I already know need work and things I messed up on: I'm too agressive, I don't use OoS nair enough. I also don't use grab attack enough, I used tornado pretty agressively, I started acting stupid around the last stock, I did an accidental drill rush that cost me a stock, I did a dash attack by accident that messed me up, I rolled a little too much nd when it wasn't neccassery, didn't grab enough, and I hardly ever used d-tilt.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfJZGbkIqH4

It's a long match but despite how many mistakes I made I'm proud of how far I've come. This was my third tournament btw.

so any more advice you guys can give on my mk, or the match up against snake will be much appreciated. After I beat sake, I played him again in losers final and he 3-0'd me T.T Sorry I don't have more footage
