I can't stand those games where competition is involved and the players don't start at the same level, such as LoL

Games such as Smash and Counter-Strike never get old because it doesn't matter how much trashtalk you can say beforehand, which "level" you are or any other advancement crap: Let's play and we'll see who's the best because we start on equal terms. A fair fight.

I loved DotA for that too. Everyone starts equal and then prove their skill.
There model is perfect for a game that is entirely free to play.

I agree your sentiments would hold a lot more weight if it was a paid game. They have to make money someway.

Pirated Dota was completely free*

How is it a cash in on someone else's idea? In those regards, every video game is a knockoff of the first of its genre. Out of all the MOBAs LoL is the most unique, the one to depart most from Dota's ideals.

I thought DotA was just a custom map for WC3? Unless pirating WC3 to play DotA suddenly qualifies as pirating DotA.

How would that not qualify as pirating Dota? I guess you cant really pirate Dota itself, but you can pirate the platform from which its played. Regardless, you have to buy or pirate WC3 (base game and expansion) in order to play Dota.

guys this one time i did a float and then i did an aerial and landed and there was no lag
**** was nuts, probably just some weird glitch
I cant seem to recreate this....

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if you went ahead and bought WC3, the people who coded and/or currently maintain DotA aren't making anything off of it, nor will they ever (not off of the map currently being played, anyway). This is in stark contrast to the business models that stand-alones like LoL and HoN run.

My statement was a counter argument to "Dota is completely free" which is only true if you use illegal means.

What needs mentioning however is the sequel Dota2, which will undoubtedly require money in SOME form.

Dota 2 will be a Steam game, iirc.

It's gonna ****.
Yes, DotA 2 is a Valve developed game. Which means it'll be out within a year. If it was DotA 1 or 3, it would never come out. But they DO seem to have a fetish for the number 2 (L4D2, TF2, Portal 2, Half Life 2: Episode 2)

He's not trolling. Mafia is pretty new and having been around him a few times at various events I can safely say that he probably thinks he really discovered the "stitch face"

Stitch could be a tasteful mark to forever imprint on your body. Certainly more respectable than some tattoos i've seen. If you think it means enough and has a strong enough representation, and if its not your first tattoo, I say why the **** not.

How far can I ride without turning back?
Hello Peaches~
I haven't really posted much at all so I want to say hi again =]. I'm Riddlebox...sup.

So recently I've been playing this really gay fox named Lou; after figuring out my SDIs and developping a decent counter attack game he has turned on super gay cheat mode and keeps overwhelming me with tech skill =[.

I'll post friendly videos later...for now though I want to ask how you guys get around certain things/your opinions about:

Firstly dash dance grab camping; in which I've been trying to like wall Lou off with b-airs and force him to the ledge but he's getting better at getting around that and camping me more.

Secondly having a turnip in hand between stocks against Fox...yay or nay...? When he is in the mindset to camp me it's nice to have it ready if I can avoid him during invincibility...but Lou is much better than me and his tech skill is on point so getting hit and losing a lot of my options because of said turnip makes me iffy about holding it.

Lastly what's the deal with my falling over under 65% from N-airs while crouch canceling / not being able to down smash before the shine sometimes. Today Lou even went as far as to just randomly negate two of the hits and slide out on his feet with a smile on his face and not a care in the world.

I dunno...I really want to beat Lou consistently but he's really good =[. He dabbles with Peach often (more than likely is better than me with her as well) and offers up advice too but sometimes even he doesn't know.

I do want to stress that Lou is realllllly gay...like REALLY...YOU ARE REALLY GAY LOU.

cping you to Mute at a MDZ tourney
watch armada vs lucky/m2k. He shows an amazing anti pressure/camping game. He drops a lot of fairs to control space, I find it pretty helpful. Grab that notepad ;3
I deal with dashdance camping mostly by float camping with a turnip, it forces him to jump which gives you a few openings, and if he nairs you can counter it with an aerial (we discussed this a few pages back).
Turnip in between stock. . . I mean, if you can get a turnip to fair on fox, then it's a good way to start your zero to death or combo or whatever because it forces a tech. Most peaches look for a bair/uthrow to dsmash at zero, so a turnip isn't too grand if you're looking to start them off with that good 40%. Try multiple things, variety is the answer most of the time. Personally I'm for it, but I don't think it's exactly the textbook's recommendation, but find out what you like.
Amazingly, peach can't crouch cancel for forever :p I really think it's not the best idea to be on the ground too much vs fox in the first place. Personally, I prefer the air. On the ground he can drill you and do bad things like that. If you see him shnairing a lot then ccing it is good, but it's not something worth relying on, imo. If nair is giving you problems on the ground, you can nair it out of shield.
Whorish foxes are peaches worst enemy, but nothing a princess can't overcome :)
(^this sounds like something Composeur would say^)

Yeah, Lou changes his tactics pretty often; so I am not always looking to CC a nair, it's just the odd time I'm prepared for it I get *****'d by his cheats. The floating with a turnip makes sense; I'll try that the next time we play...I do need to work on pressuring with high floats anyway...Also what is the timing on nair out of shield? or is that something I need to feel out myself?

I definitely need to watch more videos for answers to my problems...but often I just rather sit and think about it on my own until I can't figure out a solution that works against someone who's played for so long. Lou has seen it all =(. Hopefully Lou comes with us the next time we travel OOC so I can see what you guys do against his Fox...

On another note, what do you do to get pressure situations started on Falco? By that I mean like first hits etc...with all this focus on Fox, my Falco game has suddenly disappeared lol. There aren't many average Falco mains for me to experiment with...so my options are like, Unknown, RaynEX, and I.B. Granted two of them are playing them as secondaries but it's frustrating none the less.

Thanks for the advice mister!
