  • "Classic" Link (i.e. TP and/or OoT Link) should have been an echo for the current Link in Ultimate.
  • Ganondorf's sword smashes ruined his moveset design.
  • Bowser's Melee/Brawl animations were more fun to watch than his Smash 4-on animations.
Yeah, I know I've said all of these before, but hey.

classic link tends to refer to the original one

Nintendo has never referred to the original design as "Classic Link", and still, they would need to call TP/OoT Link something.
yes they did, hyrule warriors.

theyd called the hero of time and twilight link respectively

Hyrule Warriors called that outfit the Classic Tunic. Close, but not quite.
and outfit designed to look like the original. youre just splitting hairs

and perhaps more to the point it wasnt the oufits based on Oot and TP that were called classic

Even then, that's just Hyrule Warriors. Smash can call the combination of OoT and TP Link whatever they want, "classic" or not.

you mean a fully licensed Nintendo game with their stamp of approval that’s pretty much the same situation as smash? You’re right they could call them whatever they want but they won’t be calling him classic

What would you call the combination of OoT and TP Link?

Sheik and the Ice Climbers have overstayed their welcome. I would cut them if this next Smash didn't have Everyone is Here yet again to have fresh new faces at their expense. Their gimmick which warranted their inclusion isn't unique to them anymore, and Rosalina / Pokemon Trainer / Pyra and Mythra do their gimmick better than them. So to me they're redundant characters.

On a similar note to Gardevoir, I don't get why people want ninja Impa or Skull Kid over elderly Impa or Majora's Mask alone - might just be that I look to body shape in a fighter above canon powers, but an old mage and shapeshifting mess of abstract limbs strikes me as much more appealing than another ninja or another magic child.

I support all 4

I'm also intrigued by Old Impa and by far prefer an elderly newcomer by this point. Old Impa just seem more promising. Majora, 2nd incarnation would be so fun and unique. I could imagine it having its moon walk as a taunt.

There's nothing that an old version of Impa ever did... I guess they could use BotW Impa, and give her the moveset of her younger self in Age of Calamity, with as drawback being much much slower and weaker, but would you want that ?

considering the amount of made up moves we got im not sure it matters. although if they give old impa the giant sword and nigata i may never stop laughing

Ok. This might be a weird opinion, but lyrical Rock N Roll doesn't belong in Smash. I feel like Opera music or niche rap fits Smash better. Smash has a specific flow that honestly blends well with Opera or old school Rap. Sonic's City Escape theme is out of no where and redundant. Ultimate's World of Light's theme or that Metal Gear Solid theme with singing I forgot the name to make Smash feel like KH.

Again, its all just opinions and I know its weird, but I just can't stand singing in Smash.

The Style Savy Character i forgot her exact name! Shouldnt be playable in smash for a long time! Making a Character playable that is pretty heavily targeted towards an audience that doesnt play Smash is a dumb idea! Especially when there are still so many other "casual Game" Characters that tbf are third party but i think i make an exception in this case!
Im sure most would prefer the story Of seasons Farmer (Both genders) over the style savy Artist!
Pls dont kill me!

Im mostly guessing because of the diffrent target audiences!
Also im not saying no one is or even not many just not most of them!
I could be wrong tho im not sure!
well it’s very presumptuous to think that a casual game is only played by casual gamers

there’s bound to be some overlap

There should be other LoZ fighters than just Triforce Wielders

Like for example, Lana from Hyrule Warriors

Lana is one of those rare characters that would make a lot sense, but that I can't stand. I mean, look at her: does she really remind you of the legend of Zelda? She looks like she's been taken straight from a shojo. Her moveset is brilliant though, I'll give her that.

Modern advancement is making Smash tacky. A modern focus is the worst thing that could happen to Smash from a sheer charm perspective. I feel like Smash started with a strong retro emphasis, that is better preserved, but hasn't really been strong since Brawl. I hope Sakurai continues the trend of returnee stages, I believe Smash should thrive off of nostalgia.

That's not an unpopular opinion, and I don't even agree with it.

Do you mean focusing on recent characters? Would you rather that Smash focus on old obscure characters instead?

I'd like that too, but as a balance between old obscure guys and fresh new flavor-of-the-month faces.

lol That's not possible. Its nearly impossible to keep the characters nostalgic when their the game's core advancement. My argument is more regarding Smash's aesthetic and stages. If a new Smash is on the horizon, Sakurai needs to follow the trend of retro appeal. SMB3 is ironically without its very own stage, which is rightfully deserving. The representation of SMB3 thru Super Mario Maker is a terrible concept. Earthbound, OoT and DK Country has all gotten multiple stages. This is the trend Sakurai should follow. Super Mario Sunshine, Majora's Mask, Super Mario Bros. 2 USA all should have multiple stages.

Smash's new menu should use the inspiration from the Nintendo logo style like:

Now imagine it with a white background. And (logo-ing) Smash Modes? See how interesting and good ol' it'd make Smash's overall appeal? This is what Smash needs again.

Several stages per game? How many stages would that make in total?

Earthbound has now gotten Onett, Fourside and Magicant, 3 in total to get an idea, but Melee's idea was balanced enough, two per game works. That's not to say said game shouldn't eventually get 3 like Earthbound, especially if its critically acclaimed. And has vast stage potential. 🙂
