as for your challenge, I posted them on youtube, a more accessible version of the ones added to my contribution for the Roster Game but with characters who just barely missed it that I and many other people also wanted (Black Widow, Panther, Regina, etc.)
The only thing that even cuts close for a "Waste of slot" for me would be Wesker, but since Resident Evil is THE BEST SErIES EVER RE 5 WAs SOOOO GOOOOOOD!!! I should stfu.

I think Frank West would be a wasted character slot! I'm sure the casual players would appreciated, but I can see people wishing for something else in the competitive scene later on! I'm tired of hearing Mega Man as well, but I guess I would let it slide for X! I'm buying this game for sure if either Magneto or Sentinel make it in! So far, the cast has been interesting, but I haven't been blown away!

I'm actually liking the roster so far. And the characters do seem pretty diverse which was something that I was worried about. Magneto's definitely going to make it in, I'm not sure on Sentinel. I'm really happy that Tron's in since she was my most wanted for those that I was unsure on returning.
BTW, does anyone here still play MvC2?

Tron really surprised me, and for once, I'm glad I was proven wrong and she was in the game. Magneto literally has to be in this game. No way in hell he's out. Storm's chances are also really good, one of the most popular X-Men since her debut and has also served as leader, and being a fan favourite in MvC also helps

does anyone here even READ marvel comics?
First off this crossover game isn't going to be like MVC2. They can't just recycle all the sprites they want and make a game crazy fast like how they did with MVC2 (which was basically X-men vs capcom)
This is all about Marketing and including characters that appeal to both marvel fans of ALL comic series and capcom fans.
for marvel you have your staple characters that appeal to EVERYONE:
Captain America
Wolverine
Spiderman
Thor
Hulk
Iron man
and Doctor Doom
all these characters have movies and have been in movies, as well as being staples of marvel and easily recognizable, I'd be surprised if they WERE NOT in there.
and so many of the characters make sense if you're fans of the comics.
Deadpool has recently been getting more and more popular again with his own story arc that is supposed to be around 60+ comics as well as his own origins story and he is playing a very important role in the dark avengers plot (nearly killing bullseye and getting payed off by norman osborn (actually bullseye). Not to mention his popularity in Ultimate Alliance, deadpool is awesome (and what makes him more awesome is that he uses shoryuken in the game kinda like how he did to kitty pride in the comics

She hulk is an AMAZINGLY popular character in the comics and always has been. while she hasn't had her own story arc recently she played a MAJOR role in World War Hulk, one of the most famous stories marvel has printed recently, as well as being one of the few heros able to challenge Thanos in the infinity gauntlet.
Super Skrull is freaking awesome because they've reintroduced the skrulls sense the secret war (there is a deadpool story arc in which they give a bunch of super skrulls deadpools powers but they all go crazy because deadpool is pretty ****ed up in the head, and start killing everything. it was awesome)
X-23 is another VERY important character in the comic having a part of the new X-men and having played a role in World War Hulk and other plot lines, she even has an ongoing series atm.
Dormammu hasn't got much love recently but his appearance may give him a more popular role.

honestly punisher is what batman SHOULD have been. also the punisher killed his family because he wanted to stay the punisher, he's awesome.
assuming the Roster is 34 (just over 30 which is what they're shooting for). that would leave about 6 Marvel heroes left. factor in She Hulk and Silver Surfer(http://www.snk-capcom.com/?p=2106) that leaves 4, all of which I assume to be returning characters such as Magneto, and a few others.
For the Capcom Side:
I don't think I really need to justify any capcom characters sense you all play video games and know who is popular.

@ Tomo: I know what you're saying about how you don't think Megamans Anime-like-look doesn't fit with the series but thats why it's a CROSSOVER. It's supposed to include characters from ALL universes, and It's funny because megaman in the marvel universe isn't THAT far fetched, you ever hear of Howard the Duck? but regardless because it's a crossover having characters you don't think fit is inevitable, look at viewtiful Joe.
TLDR:
Every Marvel character is justified (with the exception of dormammu) to be in this game due to popularity between people who READ THE COMICS, like marvel fans are supposed to.
Capcom is just going to include characters that will increase the popularity of their current game projects (Dead rising 2, Megaman Legends 3, etc.)

I can't believe you said that, hes AWESOME and is SUCH A bad*** in the comics. although He won't be in his typical attire if the's in this game. if any of you read the comics you'd know that Daken (Wolverines son) chopped the punisher up into bits and threw him in a sewer, but they brought him back as this Frankenstien-Like creation called Franken Castle (still the punisher though).

Got the opportunity to play this game at Fight Night: Chicago Edition.
It's pretty sweet. Loved how Amaterasu felt, and his elements super is crazy sweet.
Deadpool is fun but I didn't get time to figure him out.
Dormammu has crazy stage control and has a pretty good fireball super (along with the general "this is kinda like a shinkuhadoken" thing).
I saw a lot of people do nasty things with Hulk.
I didn't get to use Viewtiful in the round I picked him
Tron Bonne, X23 and Spiderman weren't in the build which made me sad (I don't like Spiderman but I wanted to use him anyway)

not being used much =/= being a sucky character. in fact, in TVC there are only 2 characters that would classify as sucky- Gold Lightan, and(to a lesser extent) Viewtiful Joe.

S-Kill said that we are around the halfway mark roughly(at the time of the interview, Spider-Man and Wesker were not announced) at the very very least we can be getting 36-40 characters. That's definitely much better than "around 30"

If anything, you can always buy #Reload in XBL if you want to try it out.
