Pikmin 4 third area spoilers:
I have defeated the Waterwraith and obtained Wave Race for the Nintendo Gamecube! He squashed almost half of my Pikmin so I rewound time, and he still squashed 20 after that. They recreated the cave from Pikmin 2 with some new enemies, was pretty cool. Nice to see the pipe I hid in out of fear when I first played Pikmin 2 as a kid.

yeah it was awesome lol. I felt a bit of fear when he first appeared and started rolling around. I actually read a spoiler about him being in the game since it appeared in YouTube comments, but I tried to forget about it and I was still surprised to see him in the third area at least so the encounter was still cool.

A cool detail they added was the original music from the Pikmin 2 cave; at first, it plays the more peaceful music Pikmin 4 uses for caves, but the original music starts to creep in, and when the Waterwraith is very close to appearing, it pretty much takes over as the only music until he spawns and it gets frantic.
