we can even make a competition out of it to see who gets it most accurate! one point per correct placement. the size and number of actual tiers doesn't matter, just the order of characters.

I said you don't need to know why sonic sucks. I never said anything about learning the match-up. If I had said "You don't need to know anything about sonic because he's terrible" then you could have, as you did, jump to conclusions. I'm sorry, I still don't get it. IMO Sonic sucks for all the ways that his moveset is lacking, which includes a myriad of glitches and exploitable weaknesses. These are things you would learn from studying the match-up; so how can you learn the match-up without knowing why Sonic sucks? I don't know how knowing Sonic sucks will help you fight a Sonic; whereas knowing why he sucks allows you to actually capitalize on his failings. They're not all obvious.

Almost every character is advantaged to lack of matchup experience, especially Sonic. It pays to know why any not-great character is not-great.

Wario is going to drop, he has worse matchups among characters that matter and more exploitable weaknesses than diddy kong and lucario at least, maybe pikachu too. Living long, having good kill moves and ****** shields make him alright, imo good enough to be better than kirby, but the only great characters he has a good match with are like Falco and the Kongs.

I could see him being placed lower than everybody in high tier possibly, and definitely Olimar

I really do think that peach deserves to be up with ZSS at a minimum. Sonic is potentially mid, I am undecided atm... I have seen amazing things from Sonic and I feel he will move up in the future. Zelda is almost a candidate for low tier, but not quite. And finally Yoshi does not quite deserve to be in the same lot as the the other 4.
