Seriously though, the mysterious stranger routine doesn't work. The fact that you're referring to it (as well as using MK as a metaphor for getting girls) tells me you don't have a lot of luck.

Sure there are some techniques and you gotta keep it exciting, the overall persona DOES NOT WORK.

I've seen you talk about how marth keeps his up-b lag if he goes on the ledge or something, can you explain it a bit more?

If marth snaps onto a ledge with dolphin slash, he gets lag upon grabbing the ledge and can't do anything as opposed to when he grabs the ledge without dolphin slash and can do stuff right after grabbing it.

In this game there is hard landings and soft landing. Soft landings are when you are at less (or possibly equal) height of marths full jump, it last 16 frames but has IASA frames that start on frame 2. Hard landings are anything higher than your full jump but, you get the hard landing regardless of height if you fastfall. hard landings last 28 frames but have IASA frames that start on frame 4.

Marth's up B gives you a third type of landing. You get a hard landing with no IASA frames so you are vulnerable for the whole 28 frames. People have noticed that when you up B the ledge, then ledge hop or whatever to get to the ground of the stage, you get this 3rd type of landing as if your landing right out of an up B. To aviod this problem Fair (or Uair or Nair) as your landing, so you get the landing lag from the aerial (which is none) instead of the landing lag from the up B.

On a serious note, im trying to learn me some Marth, i've read Junk's guide and Ulevo's guide, yet im still having some trouble spacing probably and a SH AirDodging. I try to practice using ironicaly, practice, but in matches it just doesnt come together. Suggestion?

P.S. - I have no real players to practice on.

You could counter the glide attack, but that's also risky.

You could try to take him by surprise and run off fair or footstool dair, but this is risky as well and would only work once and then they would catch on.

There really is no reliable method and more often then not you are probably going to get yourself killed trying to edgeguard him.

I need help fast falling

No, really. I can't seem to do it right. ~_~ I try jumping with X and then pressing diagonally down on the control stick while using c-stick for aerials. I either autocancel just about the entire attack, or not fast falling at all. How do you guys do it?

try just jumping LoL ,

learn the time when marth(or any character) at there peak of there jump . this is usually noticeable by a change in animation /or a sound clip ,

as for me i just jump with Y quickly to a airattack and fastfall while in the given attack all in one motion

what i have noticed that FFalling airs make the animation go on longer and is often used in precise attacking /or you want that hitbox at a lower degree

such as FF Nairs so they can hit MK instead of marth just hovering over him LOL

all i am saying is there are times when a FF is not even considered at all . so it dont really matter at all/its not a going to brake your marth

First check Steel2nd's matchup index and EL's matchup thread. Also, and correct me if you

disagree, I think ROB is a character that spiking would work well on if he trys to recover

below the stage. ROB uair has a pretty narrow hitbox, he can't airdodge while using his up-b,

he can't hit you with his fair if you're on top of him and his other aerials telegraph

themselves. This is great way to kill a ROB early that would other wise die at much higher

percents.
