He doesn't.

Just that 99% of the people that use him suck with with him, cuz all they know how to do is roll around and hit the c-stick and spam the b button.

Those people should do themselves a favor and pick MK.

3D fighting games are completely alien to me. I've always wondered how they could possibly have the pixel-precision that 2D fighters have. It's like, how do the hitboxes and everything work? Say one character is doing a move and his arm is extended at a certain frame, but the other guy does a move and part of that move's hitbox happens to hit the other guy's arm. It seems really unpredictable and imprecise. But I don't even know if that's how it works. So yeah, I always wanted someone who is good at analyzing fighters to explain the deal with 3D fighters, and why something like Soul Calibur is good. I'm interested in SCIV, my friend just got it, but I'm not sure if I'd enjoy it because I have this perception of 3D fighters being more about button mashing and redundant movesets with 5000 different moves per character.

Have you played ANY of the Zelda games before OOT?
I own ever Zelda game, and have played all of them.
First one just doesn't interest me, and neither does the second.
I fell in love with Zelda: Links Awakening, and LTTP. Forgot to put those in, it's been FOREVER since I played them.

AoL (second zelda game) was a good game, but torture because it was so hard.

Also, I played Master Quest and beat it with ease. Phantom Hourglass? I didn't finish because of that dumb temple that gives you a time limit.

Ok first off. No game has more ******** hitboxes then Smash. In Smash you literally has hidden hitboxes that extend far beyond the character's limbs or weapons. So if you want REALISTIC hitboxes, then Soul Caliber is right up your ally.

Seriously you can't say you have doubts how the hitboxes would work after playing a Smash game. You just can't.

I like Soul Caliber because it's very fluid and the game is just beautiful. I grew up on Tekken and SC is also from namco which made me want to try it. The game has a completely different feel. Tekken which is more about waiting for chances to punish and juggles, SC is more about movement, spacing, and tech/frame traps.

All I can say is just play it for yourself and keep an open mind. But still be honest with yourself. If you think the game is fun then keep playing it and learn more about it. If you think it's boring then don't play it.

Hey GenesisJLS how come you are trolling/being sarcastic?

If you couldn't tell I was being sarcastic. By the way, this thread is hilarious.

Emblem, when are you going to win a tournament? You have to, for all the Marth players you must win!

What tournament's do you plan on attending in August? And I always see you posting in the NYC weekly thread . . . why don't you ever go?

And winning tournaments isn't my goal. It's just a means to an end. My goal is to have fun, and get fully into the depths of competitive smash, and play good players. Basically, I want to achieve top level play, rather than merely high level play, which is where I'm at now.

Read the whole thread and you will understand my goals when it comes to smash.

I'll probably start attending the weeklies.

And I may or may not go to Esticle. We shall see.

DUDE! You might go to Esticle? That would really be something to see. No pressure though, I'd expect you to do what you please when the time comes, just saying it'd be cool.

How do you gimp G&W? O_O

I was playing a G&W during a tourney match and couldn't gimp him. His Up B just doesn't seem like gimping is a good idea. Do I just wait for the fsmash opportunity? Should I try and kill of the top?

I would say grab the edge and force him to upb onto the stage, then get him from underneath where hes vulnerable. i don't remember him being able to attack after upb so exploit that as much as possible.

oh, fun fact i noticed the other day, his upb trampoline launches everbody in the vicinity, not just him. XD

Im pretty sure GaW can attack during the parachute animation (If thats what you mean). He can cancel it with a fair and dair for sure.

Most G & Ws will transcend to the ground with a dair.

Good spacing will allow you to just hit them with whatever you want from there.
(Gotta be quick kids)

Using things like uair approaches won't work. Gimping them only works if you're on the same height as they are, where you can bang them with a bair or something. Doesn't happen often.

GnW is so light that you'll have an easier time outright killing him as opposed to gimping.

I spend ALOT of time on SWF. I guess I had an unfair edge on alot of other people when it comes to research lol. I don't have a job. I been jobless since I quit in March and haven't been actively searching for one. Honestly my life is kinda in limbo right now and SSBB is a distraction really.

I'm not too concerned with putting my life on hold, since I'm pretty laid back though.

So yeah, I'm usually on SWF the whole day, if I have nothing better to do. Even when I'm not on my PC, I will stay logged in and I don't sleep very much. Usually get around 4 to 5 hours, which isn't healthy at all. lmao. And I sleep at odd hours. Usually around 6 am to 11 am and then I'm up for the whole day. I don't get tired because I'm not really doing much of anything.

My day usually consist of chilling with my boys and playing fighting games, reading threads and posting info, playing the one or two games that have my attention and right now that's Final Fantasy IV DS, but before it was Maple Story. I also do my chores around the house. If I'm not doing any of that that I'm chilling with a female.

Marth vs Ike, Marth has a solid advantage.

Marth vs Wolf, Marth has slight advantage IMO you just have to watch your spacing. Try to stay just outside his f-smash range so if he uses it and you block you can get an easy Dancing Blade. Remember to PS all lasers. At close range play your usual spacing game and you will outspace his d-smash and outspeed his other options.
As a Marth player how much Lotion do you accumalate? And why did you change your sig? IMO old one looked better.

So I've been messing around with Marth recently (actually I've been messing around with a ton of characters) and this might sound like a stupid question but:

What is stronger; fully charged tipper Shieldbreaker or fully charged tipper Fsmash? Assume both attacks are fresh. This would be good to know if you get a successful shield break from SB.
