I'll get in touch with Mike sometime after he's out of school and see when is good for him. I think he told me once that he's most comfortable with anything 9/10PM and later, but we'll see if that's still the case.
I stayed home from school today, so I can talk about them whenever. If I'm not online when you want to, just text me.

Lady Luck is with me today.

When people get online, they should log onto AIM. Let's just make this easier lol. Oh and maybe someone could make a group?

Wow, apparently I was a hot topic of conversation in the last few days. haha

I played Ace and didn't say a word about Ganon while we played. I won just a little bit more of the matches, mostly going even, except for the match where I 4 stocked him. I learned the Ganon matchup and it's fun. There was a time where I really hated Ganon and I still think he's relatively easy to play, but it's whatever.

I fight Plur's IC's for long periods of time constantly switching between Falcon, Falco, Fox, Luigi and Peach. I just get really bored with the matchup after a while and I don't particularly enjoy fighting them. I ask him to play Fox because it's really good practice for me since it's one of Falcon's hardest matches and there is no such thing as too much tech chasing practice.

I fight DJRome's Sheik and I get really annoyed with the CC/Dsmash strategy and because it's an awful matchup for falcon but I barely say anything anymore. I hate Sheik a lot but I'm getting better at the matchup.

Marth I don't mind fighting. It's just a hard matchup if I'm not playing really well. I've never told anyone not to play Marth.

Holy **** do I hate Jigglypuff though. Learn a real character, for realz. I will john on Jiggs till the day I quit this game and she'll probably be the reason I do. It's SOOO hard to camp bairs, bthrow ledge gimps, and rests.

On another note: I don't really care about being power ranked. I go even with practically every person listed, just not in tourney. :[

Crystalnite beat Karn in a set at the first Bi-weekly.

Foxy took 2 sets off of Karn. 2-1 is the record in Foxy's record. You can't count a tournament that Foxy wasn't at.

Do you hate Falco?

I don't actually. I love fighting spacies even though it's next to impossible for Falcon. Tech chasing is too fun whenever you happen to land from whatever combo you're stuck in because you got shined once.

Hmmm, I still don't think there is enough tourney evidence to put Foxy above me. He lost to DJRome, which is worse than losing to Crystalnite, technically. Also, I actually have records vs everyone else, like beating Peter. I mean, I don't think I can beat foxy currently, but I don't think there is any data that can support him being above me. . . The fact is, he doesn't have enough tourney placings to use as data, and we traditionally don't give people the benefit of the doubt when they don't have placings.

So....

because Foxy didn't play against the majority of the PR'd people, then he should be below you even though he beat you in not 1 but 2 sets?

Why are we not equally treating him even though he showed up this period? That's penalizing him in the same way we would say we penalized someone for not showing up enough.

Karn didn't even use the same character for those sets.

What if Foxy had won in winners and losers in that tournament? Would it be alright to count them then or not just because it is the same tournament?

This is part of why I don't like set counts but it's what we use so there you go.

i agree w/fix on this the whole reason to look at sets is to assess play on different day in addition to the "head to head" that is deemed less important than placings.

i'm going to give my little spiel about this and then i'll try to work on a number based system that may or may not be useful in the future.

First of all, i don't agree with the discarding of previous prs, they should matter, if only slightly.

second, i feel that the more recent tournaments are what are most important, and i don't know if this is done already, but the more recent ones should count more

third, there should be ties like there are in brawl prs

fourth, for people who are in the prs, attendance should matter. in fact, foxy only attended 2 small tourneys. there is no way to tell if he would be knocked out my randos in a larger setting. if this is ignored, we are in fact penalizing the people that take a chance by attending more tournaments in case they are unexpectedly beaten. this is the case with karn and the first biweekly. he attended and was beaten by 2 ppl he did not expect. perhaps foxy would do even worse if he attended, but you never know because he didn't attend. and the only fair way to account for this is the penalize those who do not attend.

fifth, again, there is a large emphasis on the head to head matchup even if you discredited this before, kevin.

the data so far says:
karn beat foxy
foxy beat karn
(even)

karn placed fourth at bills
karn is 1-1 vs crystalnite
karn is 3-0 vs dj
karn has done better than foxy in teams (okay so slightly relevant)

foxy did not attend bills
foxy is 1-1 vs dj

I'm not sure how this results in foxy>karn

Foxy beat Karn in two sets. 2-1.
Maybe I should bold that. Thinking about it.

1. matters when disputing close data

2. No. We update frequently enough for this not to matter.

3. that tie was stupid.

4. ...........DJ come on now

5. Lol 2-1

come on, you say that placement is more important than sets, right? head to head sets should be used LAST after considering set counts with other people, which you state is more important. given these criteria,

we see that the placements disregarding bills (as you said) means that they are even as 1&2 and 4&3 are even. Then, if you look at the set data vs opponents with me as the common factor, karn is 3-0 vs foxy's 1-1.

add in karn's placement at bills and given the 1 set advantage of foxy in head to head, i don't see how this is anything less than even for karn especially when the head to head is the least considered critiera. in fact, if you bring in that karn had been pr'ed higher in the past, idk. . . but i'm no panelist just a smashdebater

How about we add in no placement since that's not how this panel works and we assume that head to head is most important since the only way you can tell if one player is better than another is by having them play each other AND by not using old PRs since that's DEFINITELY not how the process works and Foxy stays above Karn?

if we were debating munk vs. plur for those spots, would you make them do peach vs. ics to determine who was better? @.@
