Dtorr, all I was implicating was that you usually side with the SFL mentality. The mentalilty being that if you enter a tourney expect the results to count unless otherwise stated. You took my post the way opposite of what it was intended. Tourneys count if you play and win or lose NUF SAID.

And no kyon you shouldnt read this. Its dumb.

Hit trips are one of the best things in this game, it's really clever. Random tripping sucks, but I'm thinking of how every single tourney would have to do it or people would get pissed, and every tourney isn't going to do it...that's a sad fact.

SD card trick, dont even have to hack the wii, just gotta delete all custom stages. Its temporary until the wii turns off.

Everyone should go to Holy Smash. Viper is using the Unity Ruleset, so no more qualms about I go screwed because of X Y and Z in the rules. It's been too long since we've had an epic tourney here...

You almost read what I said Radix. I'm not talking about every Wii, that is fixed easy enough. Every tournament having it is difficult because no tripping makes a HUGE difference and if some tournaments have no tripping and others don't...people will get really upset.

@Halzy, I just realized that your avatar is magneto with a mustache in Pringles. I didn't know what the **** it was before lol

It's funny how the human mind works cuz this happens to me all the time. I'll just casually glance at avatars and if I dont know what it is I won't take the time to decipher exactly what it is and it'll hit me later after seeing it after the 30th time...

If it was added into rulesets I think it would catch on kind of quick since most people hate tripping anyway. Isn't it similiar to the rule "all xbox's have to be updated to the newest marvel patch?"

TBH it's difficult to tell when you are stating your own opinion and when you are trying to explain someone else's viewpoint. That's why I thought that you were pro-tripping until you set me straight. Now the only people who I can think of being against no-tripping as a standard are Masky and ESAM.
LOL my bad.

OK, then I apologize for blowing up on your post.

May not go depending on what my fam might be doing that weekend.

You're saying that adding a free official patch and hacking a wii are similar things?

Where did you read or view that you must hack the wii? Read what he said again or view the tutorial before you say things that hinder ideas like Radix'. Clear custom stages, run sd card, gecko OS boot, patched brawl boot. Wii turns off and everything disappears without a trace. Wii is still in factory condition.

This is the case of free official patch vs free unofficial patch. We all know Nintendo is not going to be patching Brawl. Shouldn't this community be mature enough to expand their horizons on how to make this game more appealing to potential players and to setup playing conditions that don't throw random wrenches into the gears of smash?

Shouldn't we at least look into it and take a vote or something? At least then we could say we tried.

Doesn't this use the Twilight Hack?

So basically you're saying that this community should be mature enough to do Nintendo's job?

Hit trips/bananas/etc. stay in the game with No Tripping on (I'm not sure if that was relevant to the rest of your point, so I'm addressing it just in case). Seeing as the Brawl hosts in Florida are Viper, Gallax, Hungrybox, Next Level Lan, and you/the ZP TO once you leave, it wouldn't be difficult to create a state-wide standard for it.

If you're concerned about nationals, then let me put it this way: What do you really lose by not practicing with tripping on? Are you worried that you will react slower to tripping? It's random, so you can't really plan a strategy around it, so I don't understand what other benefit could come from practicing with it on.

Doesn't this use the Twilight Hack?

No it doesn't and he's saying that the community should be mature enough to use an available patch without someone holding our hand or doing it for us.

/Competitive FPS mindset.

Then the tutorial is misleading. Also, there are lots of factors relating to copyrights as well as the stability of those hacks/codes. Maybe it's just me but I'm definitely not in favor of streaming events with any hacks/codes on at all. The Smash community already has a lot of trouble getting any support from Nintendo or even anyone with money for that matter.

I think that all those modifications do not create a the way to get more people. There not only is a need for unity but also for more people to host events and properly advertise them. If they can be found, then I think that's what the mature people you're taking about should do.

Edit: Banning some characters might help too.

Why would other regions complain if we used the tripping code?
I don't think we can complain about tripping anymore when we have the code right there in front of us.
We don't get worse playing with it off, and we'll take out random stuff that can give people wins.
FL the 1st to get it started?

We've been using codes at tournaments (In the U.S. and other countries) for the past 3 years.

Theres no competitive scene for league of legends lol. Atleast not any in comparison to an actual fighting game scene. Theres nothing wrong with the game, but quitting brawl to play LoL is the same as quitting competitiving games.

No thats completely wrong Afro. Even you should know this. Theres a big competative scene for LoL. We havent even got there yet cause were not max lv yet. Just because you haven't seen the players in real life doesn't mean they don't exist.
