Yeah, I didn't have many issues with the album as metal in general, but as Wretched, the new vocalist changed everything.

Yeah my hate for Chelsea Grin still stands, but after seeing them live just hours ago, they know how to bring the house down. Plus Jason Richardson is still a badass.

(3 guitarists is a little asinine though)

Not metal, but didn't Gallery Of Mites have six guitarists? Considering how awesome Bugs On The Blue Fish is I'm pretty sure you can never have too many guitarists.

It really doesn't matter how many guitarists you have.
It matters how you sound, and whether that is with 87 drummers, 2 bassists, or 6 guitarists, that is irrelevant to the potential quality of their music.

Melvins are the only ones I know of atm that have 2 full-time drummers.
Not metal I suppose, though easily a gateway

still though, if you have 3 guitarists, the sound should be rightfully more complex. bands like Chelsea Grin and Whitechapel don't "earn" three guitarists in my eyes.

I feel the same about guitars/basses with a lot of strings. I don't give a **** how many strings your ****ty Schecter guitar has if all you do is pull-offs on the lowest string.

as for extra drummers, some bands really pull it off well! Radiohead added another drummer and it's made their live show really really awesome. and as far as metal goes Mr. Bungle had two percussionists and Fantomas has Terry Bozzio with that ridiculous drumset that completely surrounds him.

The whole album is leaked on tpb if we're talking about the same thing. And yeah it's really good. Meshuggah is definitely good, but I don't usually listen to it just to listen to it. It's better for driving or gaming.

I saw After the Burial with Whitechapel, and they are pretty great live. Better than what I heard recorded.
Their vocalist applies himself so much. He is great.

I'm actually going to see Meshuggah, Baroness, and Decapitated next month. I'm mostly going for Baroness though, I'm not a huge fan of the other two.

Well, Meshuggah I used to listen to, but they are pretty boring, and I've never really listened to Decapitated. So yeah.

Opeth and Mastodon are also playing together, but I can't see them. I'm too busy with school and work. :(

Diablo Swing Orchestra (this is probably my most anticipated album of the year)

And since they have an album coming out later this year, some Be'Lakor. Sadly none of the new material has leaked yet, but their other 2 albums are some of the best melodeath albums of the past 5 years and you should familiarize yourself with them ASAP.

Also lol @ calling Meshuggah boring.

Edit: Baroness owns. I remember when I first saw them when they were touring for their first EP (aptly titled First) and being absolutely floored. I need to see them live again.

Well I only really listened to Obzen when it was new, and I really liked it at the time, but I grew out of it fast, and lost interest in listening to other songs by the band afterward.

To be fair, I haven't given all three bands enough of a try to have a solid opinion, all I know is I've liked every Baroness song I've listened to, so I'm anticipating them the most.

also, not really metal (though parts of it are) but this is a teaser medley of song pieces from my electro solo project which is named JILL SANDWICH. These are random prototype snippets from different songs thrown together. my first release will be LARVA EP.

trust me, it's not going to sound like what you're thinking when I say "electro solo project"!

^^^ That was pretty decent. Some parts are terrible, others are pretty good.

so Abiotic ****ing killed it tonight. They actually sounded better live than on record which is insane for the technicality of the music.

They're also ridiculously humble and friendly guys. That they complimented me on my playing/our band's music means a ton to me because they are all so much better than us, hahaha.

Ambitionist and Forty Winters was awesome as well. I didn't stick around long for King Conquer though, because they kinda suck.

My personal favorite track is Mariana but the whole thing is pretty sick! Very solid work all around
