Before I start watching the episode, I just want to say (cause I read spoilers because I don't care), Makorra is LAME and shouldn't have happened ever. I will never give up on Bolin x Korra. NEVER.

"You're the most loyal, brave, and selfless person I've ever known."

OH GAG ME. :(

Unfortunately, Amon's identity could have been easily deduced if you would have noticed how dark his skin color was on his hands and noticed in the previews for the finale you saw Korra and her love (which annoys me to know end, it should have been KorraxBolin, bullcrap..) contorted and unable to move, thus you could assume he is bloodbending, and therefore can assume he is a descendant of the bloodbender line.

Bingo.

^ Yeah, watching the trailer,
I saw Amon was blood bending. For whatever reason, I didn't want to believe he was Tarlok's brother. I kept thinking that maybe he had the ability to steal bending, or maybe he was just some crazy *** bender himself. Either way, given the series was rushed due to constraints, I can see why people are upset over certain things. Mainly the romance lol.

Btw, with Amon exposed, didn't the whole sabotaging the airplanes become useles
s?

The finale was just... okay to me. I didn't like how rushed it felt and how everything that seemed to have good potential for a second season plot was resolved in the last few minutes. Everytime the focus went to Asami, Bolin, and Iroh I was screaming for it to go back to the way more interesting Korra and Mako situation. The United Forces coming seemed like a complete waste of time imo. Amon being revealed for what he is was nice, but I'm not sure how I feel about bloodbending being able to take away bending. They didn't really elaborate on it. Korra loosing 3/4ths of her bending and then getting it back in 5 minutes was ridiculous. xD

I die and feel tortured from cliffhangers but I would have liked something.

I'll be happy to see the show return again but honestly the only thing I'm looking forward to at the moment is how Asami's character will develop after this Mako and Korra pairing.

I'd give 7/10. At least she can airbend/go into the avatar state now.

To be honest, I'm glad they didn't go with the Season 2 premise of
her having to re-learn the other 3 elements. It sort of would have made the plot redundant going back to TLA. I'm glad she got her bending back, and I trust the writers to come up with a compelling plot that is going to push AVATAR Korra to her limits.

I'm sort of hoping for a time skip. Make everyone a little bit older and wiser by a few years, but it wouldn't hurt to continue right from where they left off either.

What I want for season 2:

Needs moar spirit world, imo. I would love to see this setting's cosmology fleshed out and detailed. It could be very interesting.

Needs less Republic City, too. As cool as Aang and Zuko's brainchild is, I wanna see how the other regions have progressed in the past few decades.

Still salty about this finale. Will gripe more later.

lol everyone is left feeling dissappointed, if the episode had ended when Amon took off his mask I think we would have all been in a happier place.

I just want to say that I called korra losing her bending and retaining air. Not that it matters cause she wasn't even inconvenienced by it. Also, with literally everything resolved I don't care for season 2 anymore. It's sad really, that they left no loose ends for me to salivate over and instead just resolved the entirety of the issue.

I will say though that how Amon met his end on the boat was excellent, even if I didn't like Amon being Tarlock's brother all this time. Also, Korra being all sad and meeting the other benders got me pumped, then they gave her back her bending. Damn writers, don't even know how to drag things on for money.

I'm fine with
everything being resolved.
Maybe cause I tend to watch TV shows that have "arcs" lasting a full season. Next season introduces something else for people to go on.

What would have been nice is some cliffhanger to let us know what season 2 is about. Like I said though, I trust them to make a compelling plot.

So this was a decent episode. I don't like the whole Amon is Tarrlok's brother thing, but I guess that explains it. Bloodbending people's bending away? Uh, ok?

General Iroh is awesome. The whole Zuko's voice thing is still throwing me off, but I guess they want to keep it that way, so whatever. Naga once again proving herself to be the best polar bear dog ever.

So Amon made the whole thing up. Ok. The backstory was nice, I guess. It's a shame, his mom was really cute. :p In all seriousness, I can't say I'm too surprised that it was Yakone who put this hatred in them, and tore the family apart.

Korra getting airbending was random. I guess when you are in a state of true need, you are most able to connect to the spirit inside of you, or whatever it was Aang said? I'll take it.

I really want to see more of how Asami grows and evolves, into Season 2 (doesn't feel like there's going to be a Season 2, honestly, with how so many things wrapped up, but I'm holding out for it). I've started to really like her as a character. She's got interesting internal conflicts and stuff. And pretty hair.

Mako is someone that I never really grew to like during season 1. Sure, I don't hate him by any means, I'm just not that enthralled with him. He seems kind of wishy-washy and emo. So when it turns out that he and Korra end up together, it makes me hope Asami guts him with a knife.

I wonder what Asami will do now? Will she just be cool, knowing that it's what they want, or will she still hold some "salt?" This is something I'd like to explore. Better not see any Asami x Bolin (at least not for a while, and for no reason).

Yeah, that's it. Can't say I'm super duper hyped for S2, and this finale could've been handled better, imo, but I'm still excited to see what the creators do next. I definitely trust them to do a splendid job.

Oh, and screw Makorra.

The ending felt rushed, but what can you do considering the circumstances.

At least Asami didn't turn traitor.

Btw, anyone find it a bit stupid that they had "plastic surgery" back in the day?
Mainly with how Yakone changed his appearance?

Oh hey, I completely forgot about that.

I don't know, Wikipedia leads me to believe the time might have been just about right for the concept to show up(about WWI technology?) and add however water healing might help out medical procedures in the Avatar world, it actually sounds kind of plausible now.

Plastic surgery has been around in the old days in real life (as wikipedia says) so i can see it possible. Granted a whole face changes sounds a bit far fetched, but whatever.

I admit, didn't know plastic surgery was around that time, but the whole thing when it first popped up made me go, "Really?"

And now that I think more on it. I thought Yakone had a life sentence? Did I miss something?

I can see Asami turning evil later. She no longer has family since her father was arrested, and thus her current life ends along with her dad's inability to keep the income. She also lost Mako to Korra, so she doesn't even have a relationship anymore. She's homeless, alone, and now depressed too, knowing that her life completely took a turn for the worse because of the Avatar (Aang having fueled Yakome's thirst for revenge created Amon who corrupted her father, and Korra both is the Avatar AND got her father arrested too, so basically the Avatar ruined her life). She might set out for revenge, and her being a non-bender, I can see lots of possible plots stemming from this, including spiritual intervention on her side, if we use Amon's story of spirits giving him the power to take bending away as a foreshadowing of things to come.

I know it's been like seven hours since the episode ended, so I guess I should be ok now, but I'm not. WHY DID THEY RUIN AMON? I'M EMOTIONALLY DAMAGED NOW AND IT'S ALL AMON'S FAULT.

:(

Meelo shouting "prison break!" was awesome, by the way. That kid needs his own sitcom.

^ Well....

The problem is...I think they've built Asami to be a strong character, and we didn't see any signs of her turning heel with the season ending. I don't think she'll become homeless. She's now considered a "heroine" for aiding the Avatar. If anything, she might become the CEO for Ford er...whatever that car company is called.

I don't understand how Amon was ruined, but meh, Amon was never all that interesting to me.

I guess he was kind of careless at a couple points in the fight, but his backstory fit how I viewed his character imo, and I'm glad the spirits didn't think it was a great idea to give Amon Energy bending because that would have been Green Lantern Guardians level of not helping things.

Tarrlok was always a more interesting villain to me and this episode made him better. All Amon had going for him was Steve Jay Blum.

But maybe I'm missing something. :/

We didn't even know, like ... anything about Amon until this episode. And the few details that were revealed turned out to be lies.

People are disappointed because they had all these wild theories and none of them turned out to be true.

Imo we should just enjoy the show for what it is instead of concentrating so hard on the opposite. Especially since what it already is should be more than enough.

This is not the reason I am disappointed. Why is it, whenever anyone voices disappointment with something, someone always has to explain that person's "true reasons" for being disappointed?

That's not where the source of my saltiness comes from. I just felt that the "big twist" wasn't executed well and that it cheapened Amon as an antagonist.

That said, I still absolutely adore TLoK. And I still have lots more to say. :p Later, though.

personally i loved the ending,
the whole amon being a bloodbender thing has been brought up a few times but it was done in such a way that it still came as a surprise. I enjoyed the fact that tarlock wasn't a completely useless deadweight after his bending was taking away and the fact that through his family line they could tie in amon. Everything felt like it came together in the end fairly well.

i feel like it was a really amazing series despite the fact that it was only a mini series(this was known from before it was even released) and within the time span for the show they managed to make some really amazing stuff happen

The unfortunate implications of that lost joke are... unfortunate.

Well, I guess if you interpret it as the separate shipping of both Tarlok and Amon, and not as a Tamon (Arlok?) ship, then it's probably not a big deal. >_>
