Why is everyone in the streets celebrating over Osama's death?

This makes me sad.

Agreed.... we all look like barbarians celebrating a successful hunt.

You know, it actually offends me when you write: THANK YOU GOD FOR SLAYING THOSE WHO DON'T BELIEVE IN YOU.

.... I mean.... do they honestly not know:
a) God wouldn't want you to thank him for that... he's not big on the whole "slaying" thing
b) Muslims believe in the same God Christians do.... and all you people postin that as your status are Christians <__<
c) The whole concept of having a mighty God help you smite your enemies is kinda what you were mad at the terrorists for saying....

seriously, I want to be able to place all my redneck acquaintances into stasis for a month or two.

A couple o reasons

1. Justice for what he did, though I guess for the majority it's more about vengeance.

2. People think it's a major blow to terrorism, which it really isn't.

3. Symbolic value.

Granted, I feel some satisfaction over it, but it doesn't change much practically speaking.

I am glad that there are many family's that are going to have closure, that alone is enough for me feel happy about what happened to him.
But the way some peoeple are going about is all wrong.
Dancing and partying and having a huge celebration is not the way, I think, we should handling it.

I'll say what I said on my gay christian forums about the issue:

It's not like it's WRONG to be happy about the "few" good things that game out of it, like for the closure some families now have, the (small) blow to terrorism on the whole and the coming home of the soldiers who were deployed to find him (I would imagine).... but to revel over the death of another is pretty immoral... and since 60% of the posts I see on facebook mention how much they thank God for this happening, it's pretty barbaric, hypocritical and non-christian.

It's not like you're going to go to hell for being happy about his death or anything, it's just that it's not an entirely moral thing to do, and it's kinda the same thing America, on the whole, judged the terrorists for off the get-go if you're thanking God for allowing you to smite nonbelievers in his name.

I guess it's hard to blame some people, especially the ones closely affected by it.

Vengeance just isn't a particularly desirable trait.

They were blowing off fireworks by me right after the announcement.

I don't understand why the first thing people do after hearing about someone dying is go blow off fireworks. Especially since they're illegal around here.

I understand where you guys are coming from and there are definitely people out there who are being offensive about this issue, but this is an important event for America, and Obama.

LOL @ Osama and furry hybrid discussion. Oh Peach boards. <3

For anyone who cares, I present to you my history as a Peach main in the last few years. With this, I intend to convey an important message to my fellow Peach mains, veterans and fresh faces alike.

2011

2008 was my first year, I think I picked her up pretty nicely in a short period of time, most of it was wifi trolling but still worth a watch since they're hilarious.

2009 was by far my best year as a Peach player and as a player in general; my decision making and control were tight-knit and fearless, I knew when to box, retreat, when/how to pressure a shield well once I was inside, mix up recovery, reaction time was at its peak/could powershield just about anything, and I felt so comfortable in this character's shoes. My fundamental play was at its best and and I was actually reading and watching the opponent more than myself. Techs and everything like that were second nature, so no bit of thought was attributed to any of that, only the the match. *sigh* How I wish I could go back to that state of mind I had back then and build off of that the way I should have.

2010 was pretty bad, don't let anything you see fool you. The only good thing I did that year was beat Blue Rogue a couple of times and Malcolm in the beginning of that year. It all steadily went downhill after Pound 4 when I had taken on the task of learning way too many new things with Peach and tried to implement them all at once within my game, which kind of ***** my tight fundamental decision making and made me a little more hesitant in situations where my fearless demeanor from the previous year would have flourished. Some solid things were learned during 2010, but overall...placings stagnated, rank in my state's PR dropped, and the dreaded tournament "moxie" returned prior to every important match. Yeah...

2011, Metaknight da bess? Mahvel baybee? Bicycle kicks n' fatalities? I'm damn close.

Moral of the story: Don't let too many technical "improvements" or "tweaks" cloud your decision-making as a player. It's easy enough to overwhelm yourself while using this character, so if you plan on making any improvements...make them one step at a time, or it will more than likely turn into a big sloppy mess and you won't know what the hell to do in certain situations when you previously might have. I took the wrong path, and it resulted in utter stagnation and a failure to ever resolve my streaky tournament performances. Don't repeat my mistake, especially the fresher faces to the scene/character.

I am seriously, like, 10 stupid facebook status reads away from finding every religiously oriented "osama is dead" post and pasting
"As surely as I live, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live." - Ezekiel
Let's see how they deal with that ... mwuhahaha

I disagree that this event has anything more than symbolic importance, I mean the actual reprecussions of his death are pretty neutral to home security at large, but I'm kinda pleased that it happened while Obama was in office.

With a growing number of (frightening) tea-party politicians, I'm really scared of letting a republican into office just now, becuase the far right has just become so extreme recently and, even though you can't really attribute Osama's death to Obama, some of the right-leaning undecideds might, and that's got to help cinch his re-election... (especially if they run Sarah Palin . . . . . . or.... lol, donald trump, against him.)

I don't blame them, my brother was right under the twin towers during 9/11 lucky he was able to drive away. :scared:
