the thread doesn't involve anyone outside of north america

ranking someone all the way out in Europe just from videos and results from a whole other country is weird.

MABEY IF HE DROPPED B STICKING!!!!

How does Yami place in Europe? I know Leon easily places the best. If it's just North America then it'd look like:

Raz
Illmatic
Kyon
Nicole
Mike Lenetia(based on activity)/that peach who did well vs C0n3y

if we do a top 5 thread who is allowed to vote? i dont think it should necessarily be limited to just peaches, but it also shouldn't be anyone who just randomly comes on these boards to chat/troll/whatever.

i dont really care for the idea because there shouldnt need to be a thread for this. the best peach should be obvious, and since it isnt, it's clear that we're all about on the same level and that whoever is listed as first (and any placing that follows) is probably arbitrary.

also are we counting europe? because leon is the best without question if we are.

I pretty much have to agree with this.

We should know, and there's no point in making a thread about it. Too many people have different/ bias opinions on this subject.

Nicole or Ill should be slightly ahead of the rest, then Raz/Kyon, then whoever. We're all about the same anyway, whether you look at it in a 6 month retrospect or a full years worth, nothing has really been done from any of us. A few victories over high B-low A class players here and there, sure, but nothing really beyond that.

Flashy =/= instantly good, or the best.

just remember that kids!

i am not knocking yami in ANY way, he is clearly talented and it was always my impression that he does place pretty well.

but leon is the best. he doesnt **** around with dumb stuff that gets him punished, or flashy things that the opponent can just ignore (and WILL ignore at the highest level). he makes smart choices, spaces well, gimps effectively, and aggressively stops his opponents from getting in on him.

though i guess he doesnt count as he is european.

mine would be....
kyon
mikey
me
ill
kb/raz

no particular order.

also, does wifi count? i dont think it should but you cant deny we have some good peaches on there.

Leon is an excellent player, but let's face it...he is a Marth player through and through, and will use him to get the job done in most important matches (at least those that I've seen). An excellent Peach, but I'm willing to bet that if Yami were to come over here, he'd be the one to Armada the states. If you look past the incredible amount of flash present in Yami's game, you'll see a very deep and solid core, great fundamentals, isn't shy about making the most out of his options, etc. You can't really knock a guy down a notch just because he doesn't play a strictly methodical or reactionary game. It is possible to do both, and in my opinion...necessary to an extent.

In my eyes, Yami currently incorporates the best blend of both worlds (including the extra Pluto that is B-sticking, <3 Meno), but unlike me...he has a full grasp on how to do it without sacrificing too many other things at any one given time. Trust me...I've observed, observed, and observed him again. The only real thing left is to see how he plays a good MK in bracket.

Beefums, maining another character doesn't make him not the best peach. And I doubt any peach in brawl can pull an Armada because melee peach has waaaaaay more tools than brawl peach does :(

Even so, I'm sticking to my opinion on Yami currently being the best all-around Peach main (it's not like any of us over here have the results/upsets to easily distinguish ourselves from him anyway). I've already acknowledged Leon's great skill with her, but he's still not the best in my eyes.

P.S. Although Leon ***** Meta Knight with his Marth harder than I've ever seen anyone in the history of this game do with any character, including Jason playing the ditto. It's that hard.

well i guess that rules you out for the best peach over here since you are a pikachu player now, or at least you are for the common high tier MUs and matches that matter.

yami's spacing could be a little better, like ill said he could do silly stuff like 4 fairs in a row or using GF nair as an approach less, he could make safer choices at times. i'm not knocking him, he is probably the 2nd best in europe although i dont know all their players. and i'm not saying he's not as good as leon because he plays flashy and leon doesn't, i'm saying he isn't as good because he ISNT AS GOOD. imo.

europe's metagame is vastly different from ours and aggressive play is rewarded there, which is why peach is higher on their tier list and she is thought to be a pretty good character. i do NOT think that aggressive style would do anything over here but be destroyed by the best players. i am imagining atomsk's ddd vs. an aggro euro peach. it just would not work.

Yep, I guess so. I was hardly a common mention anyway.

We'll have to agree to disagree then, no biggie. :3

Um...one of our country's most solid, campiest, all-around very good (commonly placed top 5 in NJ) players just moved over there, loses to two very good aggressive players (Leon and Mr. R that I know of, and yes I know they're Marth mains, my point still stands), and you still expect me to simply write it off because "aggro wouldn't work over here"? No way.

I don't know about other people, but I learned my lesson after Genesis. I was skeptical about Armada doing well and almost wrote the possibility off on the basis of "Euro's scene is probably not any good for him to be doing so well with Peach, something the States haven't done in years" like a lot of people did, which would damn near be the equivalent of me thinking "well Yami wouldn't do so well over here because what he does wouldn't work". I'm glad I didn't. How would anyone know that for sure? Anything can happen.
