FFFFF Hiram! You beat me to it.
Personally, I've never been a fan of that song. Dance in the Dark should've been the next single in line like it was originally planned to imo.

But for the music video, it was alright to say the least. Doesn't come close to Telephone I think. :p

I've gotta say, Joey, ZSS is crazy-fun. Having a shot against Meta is just a bonus.

I was going through this same thing before MLG, and I settled on trying to second Snake. I just don't have the experience to play him in tourney. After I gave up on him, my effort took me way farther honing Peach. I do love picking up new characters, but I've decided to wait on that until my Peach is heroic.

ZSS is awesome. The big benefit to her is not as many people know the matchup against her. The downside is learning her matchups.

Oh hi guys.

The last two weeks have seen all sorts of things happen. For a start I've had some incredibly exciting exams to do, and in fact there's still two left. English Lit today, and it took about as much effort as using the bathroom. Only one or two posed much challenge, but even those were OK.

Four days ago my sister got married (yay!), and since it was a civil ceremony it cut out all the boring hymns and stuff (yay!), and it was done in half an hour. It was a good wedding overall, nice food and all that. It was like 27 degrees during the middle of the day, and I wore the full suit the whole time. It didn't feel too hot though, which many people found very strange.

The day after that I had two small children milling around. Not much work done then, as they kept asking me to go on 'the game with the boxing kangaroo' (Tekken 6), or 'the sword fighting game' (Soul Calibur 4). Once again I got berated for always picking girls... Though at one point, upon seeing Sophitia's throws, one of them remarked, 'What the hell is the rating on this? 55+?', which made me lol somewhat. Plus the fact that you can strip the fighters of loads of their armour...

(If you haven't played SC4 watch this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxHF8YWfqIE)

I've been trying to teach the baby colours as well, but not to much success. To start with, she called everything 'yellow'. So I taught her to say 'pink', but she doesn't differentiate: she now calls everything 'pink' instead. She can copy you if you say other colours, but by default everything is 'pink'.

Once the exams are over I have to start looking for some sort of job as well. With luck they'll be less competition due to everyone else watching the World Cup! :bee:

I hope it wasn't the AQA English Lit AS exam...that exam was cursed, everyone got D's where I go, only one person got a B
Seriously ****ed up, the teachers were furious, especially when we got the scripts back and were shown just how appaulling the marking was

It was AQA, unit B to be precise (WW1 literature).

The extract for the wider reading section was quite weird, but once you get going it all sort of flows out. As for the set text question, it was something like, 'Do the poems in this anthology suggest that there was nobility in men in wartime?', which is the sort of question which you can use almost any poem you want for as long as you argue properly.

I realise this is very selfish, but I do sort of hope quite a few people screwed up so that I have a better chance of getting an A.

LMAO don't worry lots of people secretly hope everyone else does crap so they do well :p

I did B as well...I hope in the first question you wrote about Form/Struc/Lang in a) and Context/Interp in b)

Cause if you didn't...well it won't be pretty lol :p
Yeah I did all that. Linked in appropriate wider reading, put in some naff, box-ticking stuff (e.g. the fact that she calls the war four 'weary' years reflects how it has aged men artifically etc. etc.) Admittedly most of the language and structure stuff was on the poetry part, rather than drama and prose, though I tried to cover those angles too, mainly by sticking in half a dozen or so appropriate quotes. Also, what do you mean by 'interpretation'? It's impossible to write an essay on poems without intepreting them...

I can't remember fully if I did it completely right, but I'm sure it's worthy of at least a B. Though I was a bit annoyed that there was no space to slot in anything about the Sassoon/Owen romantic entanglement...

As in did you include more than one interpretation of what you read...might sound daft but its essential all the same

I hope for your sake that you specifically wrote about those 3 in a) and the other 2 in b) cause you'll lose marks otherwise...thats how I lost marks in my resit (which I didn't care about at all lol)

For the most part. For example, in 'Magpies in Picardy', the 'magpie' could represent all sorts of things, and in 'This is no case of Petty Right and Wrong' the way that he feels on the men themselves ranges from distain to ambivalence. But when faced with a poem like 'The Fourth of August', it's more difficult since it's pretty much completely one-sided.

So basically, yes.

Wouldn't context also link in with part a?

Though I hoping that I won't have to do any resits. Not only can they be quite costly, but apparently it's compulsory to get your first results certificated anyway, so even if you resit any unis you apply to will see that you screwed it up the first time.

I already got like 50/60 on my coursework so that's a good start.

You'd have thought so but apparantly I didn't get any marks for context in part a), nobody did which is utterly ********

Its much better in A Level cause the question isn't split into two, you can write a nice well organized essay rather than butcher everything like you have to do in AS

Look up videos of Edrees; they're old but still really ****ing good (especially vs marth). If you want the best recent footage look up Kyon's peach. There's also two matches of Praxis vs Fiction floating around somewhere. There's Leon's peach also. Idk lurk more I guess lol.

Lame. It's still more imaginative than stuff like Chemistry though, where it's 'THIS is the right answer. THIS is the wrong answer. DO NOT ARGUE.'

Good to hear. What subject material is it in A2? I assume you don't continue WWI and start something new.

Lol Chemistry rocks don't diss :p Its much much better at A Level. English sucks majorly in comparsion (mmm bias) because there is a right answer and it can be logically explained - English is so open ended its difficult to find the right answer and get marks for it

It depends which books they choose for you, I didn't do WWII at AS. We had a choice between Gothic or Pastoral and I got Gothic...which I'm glad cause its a very interesting genre, the books are pretty good and theres lot of points you can get from them...although some of the stuff in them is...strange to put it politely

I'm glad that they went for WWI, because I already knew stuff about that from GCSE History coursework. I was, like, the only person who enjoyed war poetry written by women. Everyone else was like: 'lol no teh wimminz are so ignorantz!'

I remember back in my senior year of high school. We had the best physics teacher. Mr. White- he was an interesting guy, he was a navy military man who might as well have been a stand-up comedian! Anyway, it was the best class ever. The only one I would look forward to. The physics labs were awesome and yours will probably be fun if your teacher is cool too.

I liked physics more than bio and chem. It just makes way more sense to me, and I like math in science, but I do better when there's more conceptual stuff than there is straight up calculations. Science is kewl

Chem is so much fun. speaking of teachers however my chem teacher was the bestest ever. She was this short little italian lady that was always yelling at people (in a joking way) and in bioshock theres a character that sounds exactly like her XD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjMQ8VO94UM im convinced she voiced brenda XD

Hey guys, guess what?

I have lady gaga tickets for February :D

It should be fun
hiROI might kill you

I'm doing this but with a malice.

I hope I get Gaga tickets. She comes here in April 2011

Because of all the formulas in Chemistry class, I sometimes forgot that it's a Science class, not a Math class...
Same ;p Tomorrow I have my Chem final, and I'm a little nervous since my teacher wasn't here for a semester for going to prison. So we kinda didn't cover all the material that the state wants us to cover D; But I studied the textbook during school in depth, so hopefully all goes well...
