i didn't like chemistry cause it took too much math, my worst subject.....

I wish that Chemistry had more maths questions tbh. They're easy marks so long as you have a calculator handy.

It's much more fun than having to draw the structure of 1-bromo, 1-iodo, 2,2-difluoro, 3,3,3 -trichloroprop-1-ene!

There's a LOT more Maths at A Level...I'm not too great with Maths but I'm coping so I'm sure you'll be fine

Also that halogenoalkene you said, holy crap thats a lot of halogens lol did you have to draw that or something? Had to double check that one, I thought you'd stuck 3 chlorines on the double bond part until I saw the 1-ene part ;P

I would hazard a guess that it'd be polar because of the chlorines and fluorines in the middle/end of the molecule

If you really like math physics will be easier. if you dont like math physics is harder. i always struggled more in chem than i did in physics because i had to actually sit down and memorize stuff in chemistry which I don't like doing

I'm not sure if I'll continue with it. It depends entirely on what grade I get. Do universities look upon you more favourably if you have 4 A Levels rather than 3? Or is it not worth the effort?

Honestly, I made it up! I'm not even sure if such a haloalkane exists, but there are definitely ones where halogens repalce all of the hydrogens.

Grr. I hate the grading system. Good grades are a vacuous reward, but bad grades can really hurt. And really, it's just a way of saying there's something wrong with you if you aren't into the same subjects as everyone else. Why does everybody have to be good at math? Why doesn't everybody have to be good at music? Or dance? Or drawing? What if you will be good at math, you just aren't ready for it at the moment? That old grade doesn't go away, even if you later master the subject. Nope, the old grade randomly vanishes after you enter the next level of education, not when you actually learn the material.[/RANT]

I took Bio this year (as a freshman) and it was fun, but hard. Next year is Chem, and everyone says that it's also fun, but there's a lot of hw. The year after that, as a junior, I'm taking Physics, which is probably the hardest class in my school (and I go to the #1 Highschool in the country :O ) so I'm guessing it won't be too much fun....

It depends what you want to do at Uni. I shot myself in the foot by wanting to do a Science at Uni and having only 2 Science's because I chose to carry on English. You're doing 2 Sciences and 2 Arts which is what I chose but if you're taking the Science route, you've shot yourself in the foot I'm afraid...I know, it sucks, I thought it was a good idea at the time

Drop something if you don't need it, 3 A levels if the requirement for all Uni's I can think of. Do 4 if you're going to get A's in all of them and want no social life towards the coming of exams but if not, just do 3, the free periods are soooooooo worth it because things get harder in A Level and the extra A level is just for show if you ask me


And theoretically, the halogenoalkene could exist but you'd have a hell of a job substituting all those groups on
