Good ****.Even though M2K's largely considered the best overall, I disagree. His mastery of the majority of the high tiers is respectable, but that's about it. Anyway, here's my take on a top ten;
1. Mango
2. Hungrybox
3. HugS
4. Darkrain
5. Colbol
6. SilentSpectre
7. DaShizWiz
8. Calle W
9. Tang
10. Forward
I mostly base this on their overall performances in tourneys and their playing style, and as you can see, I'm not a Puff hater.Mindgames also play a role, and that's pretty much why I placed HugS as high as the third place. He's by no means a bad player, but his Samus mostly relies on the genius that his mindgames are, and not his work ethic. Phanna's is far superior, unlike his mindgames, which aren't that much. Consider this for the others, too. HugS and Phanna are merely examples.

"Work ethic"?Not at all. I simply flat-out don't think they're the best. They ARE among the best, but not in my top ten. Mindgames form the line between work ethic for me, but I'm open for the opinion of others.
Don't keep making like 8 seperate posts in a row, put it all in one post/learn to multiquote, 'cause you took up like 3/4 of the last page...@Bl@ckChris
>Implying that this is not merely an opinion.
and no peepe. lol.Glys is awesome! His avatar ***** too.
Glys, i'll give you a little laydown on why your list is wrong, you're probably just watching a buncha random videos and seeing good mindgame players, which is cool. But before you just namelessly think who's good, you'll want to see where all these good players are placing in tournaments. A lot of the people you named off haven't taken top 10 in a BIG tournament in a little while, while others don't even seem to play that often anymore.
1. Mango [good call]
2. Hungrybox [good call]
3. HugS [hugs is very very good, like top20 in my opinion, but he's not placing top 10 in the biggest tournaments.]
4. Darkrain [he hardly seems to play anymore, and he doesn't place high in big tournaments]
5. Colbol [he has a very sexy looking playstyle which might fool you, but his lack of experience out of state throws off his current potential. He isn't currently top 10.]
6. SilentSpectre [he's amazing, but i can't say he's top 10..close though]
7. DaShizWiz [This actually fits kinda well, just not in comparison to the rest of the list. He basically places like 7th-9th at all the big tournaments.]
8. Calle W [He's doing decent in europe..always in Grand Finals against armada. until he comes here it's all speculation, everyone saw colbol like this before he came outside of florida.]
9. Tang [lol]
10. Forward [too oldschool still a beast but not top 10]
If you want a decent idea of who's currently the top, look at the top 10 results for Apex 2010, Pound 4, and Revival of Melee 3. [Don't forget about Europeans! They are beast.]
if you're trolling, cool i wasted my time but whatevzzzzz
So, my opinion is bad based on the sole fact that you think it is, which is also an opinion, which contradicts the entire essence of an opinion? o_O Cool story bro. |)Yes, but your opinion is bad.
Also it can't be Mango since his posts are in English.
shut up alreadyYes, Armada did lose to Hbox. One word: Puff. Lelz.
So, should we mostly base our opinions on the amount of victories a player has claimed, or on their actual skill, and not the thousands of match-ups possible within the wide range of characters players play? Remember, I'm on everybody's side, opening up my ears to everyone and being as open-minded as I can. On another note; ''work ethic is a set of values based on hard work and diligence. It is also a belief in the moral benefit of work and its ability to enhance character (lolirony).'' As stated on Wikipedia. Featured article: ''How do I shot Google?''"Work ethic"?
Armada wrecks european tournaments, and tops international ones (Mango, Hbox, Amsah and SS being the only ones he's lost against in tournament so far). Better than the majority of players in your list until proven otherwise.
Amsah is europes #2, destroys the rest of europe as well, and is, if not as good, then only slightly behind Armada. Pound 4 is, so far, the only international tournament he's entered (correct me if I'm wrong), and he got 3rd place. Better than the majority of players in your list until proven otherwise.
M2K gets at least top 4 in almost all tournaments he enters, losing to very few players. Better than the majority of players in your list until proven otherwise.
Shiz is almost retired, calle w has yet to prove himself internationally, and Hugs, darkrain, colbol, SS, Tang and Forward never make it as far as Amsah, Armada and/or M2K in large tournaments.
And Amsah got some pretty damn good mindgames anyway, so he should be on your list either way (not that M2K and Armada shouldn't, but it's true that they rely more on combos).
I'm sorry. I'm 15, have autism and am new to forums. :3Don't keep making like 8 seperate posts in a row, put it all in one post/learn to multiquote, 'cause you took up like 3/4 of the last page...
Lol, that was in no way meant to be offensive. *huff, puff*shut up already
European myself. Not trolling.Glys is awesome! His avatar ***** too.

I'd love to better myself, but I don't know how. :/Not by how many victories they have, but how well they are placing at the current tournaments they attend.
Someone shouldn't have to win for 3 years to be considered better than mango if he quit with 3 years of winning under his belt IMO.
" or on their actual skill, and not the thousands of match-ups possible within the wide range of characters players play?"
How would you judge their 'actual skill' then?
There also isn't a wide range of characters like you're visioning. top 10 in big tournaments is the top/high tier characters with ocassional mid tiers and even more rarely 1 low tier.
Glys, don't post twice in a row. if you see no one else has posted after you, which is easy to tell, hit 'edit' under your post. You just said sorry for it then did it literally 5 seconds later
