The Best Players.....again

IDK, we probably shouldn't give the same ranking for NSTC and PAL. Aramada may very well be the best PAL player in the world. But who do you think are the best players solely based on NSTC?

ok lets assume that ntsc exists in europe. this is to understand the following now: armada attended 3 tourneys in usa where he "won" at genesis (he was the better one, just didnt get the prize money. this nair that would have killed mango in the last game of set one was a soft hit. i have a theory that this soft hit resulted from a 60 hz problem, where on 50 hz there would be one frame less displayed in this situation which would make the nair sweetspotted), got 4th at pound due to being sick and got second at apex which was the jigglypuff problem that i explained with my 72% formula.

anyway to go back to ntsc in europe: if armada would have the chance to attend as many tourneys as americans could do on ntsc he would have placed much more often on first. his worse placements were due to the reasons explained. i can also count at least 3 tourneys of mango where he didnt won, not to mention hbox and m2k.

Rhetorical question or not, some people REALLY do care that much. I don't care very much though.

There are too many different logics one would have to research to determine who's the best player. So the majority of the community abbreviates the research by basing player abilities on tournament results. That's cool and all, but I think there are other factors too. DGDTJ does have interesting results, but let's not forget that they are just results. The results don't necessarily represent consistency. And just because Mango's Fox lost to Hbox this time doesn't mean that it will consistently happen from here on out, especially if Mango is as adaptive as the community claims. Mango probably still has the ability over any other player right now to place the highest in melee tournaments on a more consistent level.

mango hasnt won a international/national for almost a year (pound 4). and his rule wasnt that great compared to ken... pound 3, rom1, genesis, pound4 and some other lesser tournies.

m2k's marth and amsahs sheik are 6-0 in m2k's favor (serious friendlies) m2k can beat jman when jman doesnt SD, and m2k has never lost to lucky in bracket iirc.

drpp is 2-1 vs m2k atm in pp's fav iirc.

hbox is the most consistant, but he recently has been losing to some unexpected names.

armada is 3-0 vs m2k and 1-0 vs pp

i agree wth no cash. i don't speak for everyone, but when i get a chance to play someone out of region, i try harder even if they are still "just friendlies". Theres no garuntee i'll meet that person in bracket so friendlies are the only test of skill vs majority of people.

skill is too hard to accurately gauge. thats why i think base it off results. (i dont think of mango at #1 because he picks falcon and marth and places lower than he should)

Seriously Amsah is At least high tier when it comes to not play the best friendlis.

No offense to Amsah but Amsah in friendlis is many times not the "real Amsah".
Amsah is really fun tp play friendlis with cause he´s lauging a lot and have really fun.
You can see it and you understand it (love playing friendlis with Amsah).

PEOPLE NEED TO STOP COUNTING FRIENDLIS.

Who care if you won 1000 friendlis if the person out place you in the tournament?

I just realized that the people who beat Hungrybox recently (at RoM 3 and DGDTJ) were all people who almost couldn't go (PP), didn't want to go but changed his mind at the last second (M2K), or people who couldn't find a ride until the last minute (Fly Amanita and Lucky).

EDIT: If this pattern continues, Armada may beat Hungrybox at *Pound* 5 because as of right now Armada cannot afford to go to *Pound* 5, but people are discussing in the "Best Players" thread about donating money towards the Good Player Fund to fund Armada's plane ticket to *Pound* 5. It would be a huge coincidence if there was a small amount donated like $50 towards the Good Player Fund for Armada (and then Armada goes, "Man, I cannot go to *Pound* 5 due to an insufficient amount of donations) and then towards the last week, donations reached up to the cost of Armada's plane ticket and Armada shows up to *Pound* 5 and beats Hungrybox.

Just a thought that passed my mind.

This is actually interesting because like most people who watch his videos, at first I thought that if I were going to play him in friendlies and a tournament set, the set would be boring simply because he played Jigglypuff. When I actually played him in friendlies and a pools tournament set, I finally saw how good and smart he was (even though all he did was back aerial and uptilt + rest).

hbox does more than just bair..i think he bairs more when he is playing safe aka when people dont know how to get around it,but like some know..its safer to approach jiggs after 2-3 bairs then hbox does his magic triks(mindgames/smarts)

some people think he plays gay but i think there are tons of players who play way more gayer
