Looks like the Beenox team is in the mood to see some fanarts... I see one of them already posted some nsfw Nitro Squad, didn't expect less lol
*One day later*
Beenox team: Nitro-Fueled is for good boys and girls of different ages - so WHY IS THERE SO MUCH PORN?!

Gimmick idea for Crash-

with the correct skillset of button pressing, he could be in constant spin. All of his Smash attacks could be strengthened by his attacks starting from a constant spin.

Maybe it's me, but has anyone else noticed how all the current racers with Drift by default are either joke characters or in-jokes?

Here is an interesting question - Who is your personal favourite out of the Nitro Squad?

Off-topic, but I just want to say that Coco as Alice, Ripper Roo as the Mad Hatter and Fake Crash as the White Rabbit is just absolutely fitting.
You know, that's a tough question. Megumi is usually my main from them, though I like Tawna more, and Ami can look really good from time to time. It's hard to go wrong with them.

How do Crash fans feel about my slightly crazy Fighter Pass prediction?

With all due respect, except for Crash and *maybe* Min Min, it pretty much just asks for it to be disproven. Especially Gordon, whose series hasn't even been near Nintendo consoles, not even via cameos.

You guys think a character like Mr. Crumb would make it into CTR?
Yes, it's just a matter of when, and if the game's support lasts until June or July.

ZoroCarlos ZoroCarlos definitely thinks so, as well.

If this is the official Crash thread... WhY iS iT So sHoRT?!
Character threads tend to not get too much activity if the character in question hasn't gotten in yet. Well, that and we're in a drought for Crash news lately.

You have to admit the development team did a really good job making the girls more distinct and appealing to people.

Like I am very confident that, should Crash be playable in Smash, he’d be one of the most expressive newcomers and it would be cool to have a really wacky, Looney Tunes-esque character like him.

I like the aesthetic of this, but i only see at best 3 of 6 of these characters making it.

Im also of the upopular opinion that the Fighter 2 will be less reliant on Third Parties. Bold prediction i know.

Also Sora as the last fighter? I see him as possible, but not as the last announcement, when most characters that are revealed that way tend to be more niche and less popular than what's revealed in the middle.

Not much to talk about. Maybe if a reliable or at least interesing rumor about Crash Bandicoot (Smash or Otherwise) shows up it could give this thread more activity.

Literally every E-rated game ever. I'm sorry, I don't make the rules.
Ironic how SFW characters sometimes are more lewded on than characters that are just begging to get lewded on.

I could give an example but this thread is for good boys and girls.

The pass after Min Min is in alphabetical order. Idk what the actual order will be.

The biggest factors of why Crash Bandicoot's thread isn't as big as many would think it would be is because he's heavily associated with the Playstation brand and Super Smash Bros is a Nintendo fan catered game at it's core despite it being a celebration of all gaming since Brawl.

When Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale was announced without a doubt Crash Bandicoot was probably the most requested character and the most glaring omission on the roster, No surprise as he was de facto mascot of the Sony Playstation brand and not having him in a game that is a celebration of Playstation's history would "Almost" be like if Mario was excluded from Super Smash Bros.

When it comes to Super Smash Bros, Crash is on Nintendo's turf and while I'm sure he has his share of fans here too (Including myself), He doesn't resonate as much with your usual Nintendo fan who got their platformer fix and nostalgia from Mario, Donkey Kong and even Banjo-Kazooie during the N64 era. While Playstation fans got their fix from Crash and Spyro during that same era (Late 90's -Early 2000's).

This is not a knock at Crash as he is currently my most wanted 3rd party character and probably overall and thinks he has a good shot as any because of what he represents and has earned it based on his legacy.

But this is why I think this thread (While not small), Is not absolutely big and super active.

It's rather strange, considering how Crash went multi-plat ever since the Turn of the Millenium happened, with the GBA getting portable installments way before the PSP eventually did, no less. VV even made it a point to port NST to the Switch, just because they could.

I think the actual other reason is because to some, he's just a "meme" suggestion, likely in no small part due to his perceived lack of abilities despite evidence of the contrary.

Crash is definitely known, but not really seen as much priority as some other characters.

Finally got around to playing the N-Sanity trilogy so being almost 25 years late to the party is probably better than never. Obviously, you all have likely been fans of the Crash series for a decent amount of time so, a question that's been bugging me, what are the most iconic pieces of music for the fanbase? Everybody knows the main theme but I haven't seen this topic talked about much.

Good question.

To me, I think that Warped's title theme is fairly iconic enough that it got reused wholesale for the Bash/Wrath of Cortex/VV era.

Then there's Dr. Neo Cortex's boss theme from the original trilogy, it feels a bit odd when he gets anything else in its place.

the songs i had in mind while not all iconic yet i find fitting for smash are
Wumpa Islands(the first level of crash 1)
Wild Hog
Dr. Cortex's Theme
Warp Room(Warped and Wrath of Cortex)
A Medley of Crash Team Racing
N. Sanity Beach(Twinsanity)
The Evil Twins Boss Music
these are only a few i listed since i have not played too much of crash.

The best Crash music is actually not from the PSX Golden Age, but from the worst selling game in the series, Twinsanity.
The entire score is done a'capella, but it is so catchy. The game itself was actually rushed like Sonic 06 but came out good! I can only imagine how much better the game could have been had it been completed as planned.

I mean, if they bring back that one level where Cortex explores Coco's mind, that'd sell it for me.

Well, it seems that Beenox will be airing a stream of themselves playing Nitro-Fueled, so please tune in if you're interested and have some time to kill.

Okay, I’ve been meaning to ask this; what’s your point here?
After a while of hanging out here, you learn to stop trying to understand users like that one.

I've always liked Hang Eight and the portal room music from Crash 2 a lot, and N. Sanity Beach is pretty good too

Don't forget Dingodile's theme.

So, I've been thinking: if Crash got in as a fighter, what are the most likely spirits to come with him?

I reflected upon it and came up with this list of sorts regarding the characters I think have a chance of becoming spirits:

100% Guaranted
Coco Bandicoot
Dr. Neo Cortex
Aku Aku

--------------------
High Chances
Uka Uka
Tawna Bandicoot
Fake Crash
Crunch Bandicoot
Dr. N. Gin
Tiny Tiger

--------------------
Decent Chances
Polar
Pura
Dingodile
Some sort of iconic representation from the series (wumpa fruit/crates/a combination of the two)
Spyro
Dr. N. Brio
Dr. N. Tropy

-------------------
Low Chances
Komodo Brothers
Ripper Roo
Nitros Oxide
Papu Papu
Pinstripe
Nina Cortex
Baby T

Anything you guys disagree on or would like to add?

Just add the Nitro Squad as an upgraded spirit for Tawna.

As for the iconic item, any type of crate would do, especially ICC.

I've gotta say, thanks to you all, I've dug deeper and deeper into this Bandicoot hole and it just further solidifies to me that Crash deserves to be in Smash. I didn't grow up with the series and I had only a few friends who had the original PS1 games so playing the N-Sanity trilogy and doing research these past couple of weeks have kind of been like exploring a whole new world. It's also made me realize that Crash is honestly not too different from most of the third party characters already in Smash in that they undeniably have classic games but got stuck on the rocks with mediocre or even flat out terrible games at one point. It's a well fleshed out universe that has made some super awkward decisions but, then again, how is this any different from Megaman, Sonic, and Pac-Man? This all said, I've been predicting Crash in Smash since the fall or so but now I'm actually kind of enthusiastic about it.

Sidenote: Crash Twinsanity might be one of the most underrated video game soundtracks I've come across. A lot of people call it the "last good Crash game" before the reboot and I can see why.

The interesting thing is that Crash's past troubles can mostly be blamed on a multimedia company that was utterly clueless about how to manage game productions, and constantly handing the IP out to various companies having different interpretations of the characters, with the game of hot potato only ending when publishing duties were handed to a company that kinda realized that the creative drive pretty much fizzled out, so pressing the reset button was the only viable solution. Nitro-Fueled essentially shows the potential in making the universe more cohesive than ever.

Anywho, I take it that you're a full-fledged supporter of Crash now? We're hoping that current circumstances don't prevent an announcement for the next Crash, and a possible Smash inclusion.

I'm only about halfway through Crash 2 at the moment but I've been having a lot of fun and I see why so many people fell in love with this series. I also had the wrong idea about Crash's personality. I was always under the impression that Crash was another "too cool for school" 90's character like Sonic but, canonically, he's literally an idiot and I really like that. He's a big ****in' goof that had his brain fried and, in truth, Smash doesn't really have that yet. Kirby's childlike but on the cute side of things. Crash is full on like Ed from Ed, Edd, N Eddy I think that makes for a wonderful addition to Smash.

It's funny that you've compared him to Ed, because a EENE-styled fan art of him came out recently:

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Would Fake Crash or Evil Crash from Twinsanity be viable alternate costume choices apart from maybe his biker outfit?

I doubt they'd do alternate characters as costumes like that unless if it were someone big like Coco (though she'd be better off as an echo). I can see one of Crash's alts having an Evil Crash color scheme though.

That makes sense. The biker outfit is probably the only plausible one I suppose

At this rate, we may not hear about the next Crash game until July, at the earliest.

It's just as likely that they simply won't do anything with Coco and settle with Crash for the time being. The least we could get is all the standard exotic skins from Nitro-Fueled, if those are allowed.

Oh that’s interesting I know ZhugeEX would know a lot about this stuff for sure. Hopefully we get a Crash announcement early. For example

It would be cool to hear about the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X early as well.

At this stage, if Acti stays on schedule, June should have some sort of Crash-related news, even if it's just something as simple as saying that the support for Nitro-Fueled officially ends. Otherwise it's any time between then and New Year's Eve as far as when the bombshell could drop.
