Job #149: The Lawn

Adventure.jpg

This one is fairly simple but it's the one that's the most iconic and makes the most sense to me, The Lawn! Plants vs. Zombies takes place in front and on top of your house basically and the first two stages take place directly on your lawn.

The stage layout would be a completely flat walk-off stage that rips its layout straight from PvZ but in 3D to fit the Smash style. There's a catch though, just like King of Fighters Stadium. You must get blasted through an invisible wall except the difference between this and KoF Stadium is that you can only be blasted through the left. Don't think about camping on the right though, the evil zombies will try to come and eat your brains!

Several zombies will appear, normal ones, conehat zombies, pole vaulting zombies, buckethead zombies, screen door zombies, football zombies, just think all the grounded zombies from Plants vs. Zombies. If you touch them, they will hurt you. Powerful zombies like the football zombies will launch you. Fortunately, they can be KO's. Crazy Dave's plants may even target them!

Occasionally, a flag zombie will appear. When this occurs, a huge swarm of zombies will appear to overwhelm you. If a zombie gets passed you and into the house, the daylight will be replaced with the cold night and fog engulfs the stage for roughly 30 seconds before going away. Fortunately, a friendly lawnmower will instantly be activated the first time a zombie passes through and will mow down everyone in front of it.

Occasionally, the yeti zombie will pop up from behind the fence.

The Omega ans Battlefield layouts use the grassy patchwork for the platform and white bricks for platforms.

Crazy Dave's House

A traveling stage, this stage will have five sections, each corresponding to the five "worlds" of the first Plants vs Zombies game.

There's Day.

Night

Pool

Fog

And Roof.

Each section will have Plants and Zombies that were introduced in those worlds appearing in the backgrounds as cameos. The stage will begin in the Day section then turn to Night, then a platform will take the players to the Pool, which will then turn to Fog, then the plaform will take the players to Roof, and then back to Day again.

Neighborville

This is the world in Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville

Neighborville would be a large travelling map.

The first layout is Dave Manor

This part would be in front of the manor, The manors appearence draws mostly from Battle for Neigborville, but it does have some design elements from Wall-nut Hill from Plants Vs. Zombie Garden warfare, Namely the Crazy Dave Fountain.

The layout would be Bridge of Eldin esque only with a hedge fence on both ends.

Dave Manor's Cameos are a random combination of Plants from Battle For Neighborville and Garden Warfare

Peashooter
Sunflower
Wall-nut
Chomper
Cactus
Citron
Rose
Kernel Corn
Nightcap
Snapdragon
Squash
Potato Mine

All Parts after you can see random plants or zombies walking around, in addition, each part also has a unique set of cameos.

The next part is Giddy Park

Giddy Park would overlook the entire park and the layout is 2 towers, one Static tower and one that is constantly rising and lowering

The Special Cameos that appear here are as follows: Heal Weed, Ninjimp and Bingo Bongo

The Next Part is Weirding Woods

This would have the exact same layout as FD only the platform is made out of stacked trailer homes, It overlooks most of the landmarks of the map in Battle For Neighborville.

The Special Cameos that appear here are as follows: Dreadwood, Dreadroot, Giga Torchwood, Acorn and Bart Barian

The Next Part is Town Center

Another BOE style layout

The Special Cameos that appear here are as follows: Bitey Brothers, Major Sweetie, Fantastico and Peg Legpuller

This stage also has a visible battle between a random assortment of Plants and Zombies taken from each sides list

The Second to last layout is Mount Steep

Mount Steep has the same layout as the Castle Interior portion of Castle Siege only it is missing the middle platform, the Ground and Sides are made of rock.

The Special Cameos that appear here are as follows: Sergeant Peel, Gilly the kid and Safety Stan

The final part is Zomboss HQ

Zomboss HQ would have a layout like Reset bomb forest, only he platforms are made of factory walls and parts

This part also takes a lot from PvZ: GW's Zomboss Estate, Namely in aesthetic and a few statues that appear

Zomboss HQ Cameos are a random combination of Zombies from Battle For Neighborville and Garden Warfare

Foot Soldier
Imp
Superbrainz
Captain Deadbeard
All-star
Space Cadet
Space Station
Scientist
Engineer
Wizard
Dancing Zombie
Backup Dancer
Hover Goat 3000

The Omega, Battlefield and Hazardless version don't land, they just fly around the world map.

Time Travel Void:

This is a stage originating from Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time that takes place atop Penny the talking Time Machine. As you fight, you'll travel through time to different eras of time where, depending on your location, gives unique platforms to the platform layout. They are:
  • Ancient Egypt: Lands on top of a pyramid. The thing tilts at a maximum of 30 degrees on either side depending on where you stand.
  • Pirate Seas: Two planks of wood shoot out from underneath Penny and serve as a KoF wall for fighters that get spiked into them.
  • Wild West: A minecart rail platform falls to be just above the fight. The players can knock a cart left and right to smash into opponents.
  • Ice Age: Penny slowly becomes encased in ice, giving the stage ice physics until the time machinery acts up and sends them back to the void again.
  • Lost City: Gold tiles will fall on top of Penny occasionally. Anyone who stands on these gold tiles for 3 seconds will be encased in gold as though they were affected by Xerneas or had collected 100 coins in Golden Plains.
  • Far Future: Different-colored tiles float over Penny, flashing different colors. Anyone who stands on them for long enough will gain a buff to their attack, but if one stands on a platform of a specific color, everyone standing on a same-color platform will get that buff as well.
  • Dark Ages: Wedged between two towers of a castle. The platforms are solid and turn the stage into a semi-walk-off in the sense that they reach the edges of the screen.
  • The 1980's: Beams of light begin flashing as multiple zombies dance in the background. Anyone that gets hit by a light beam will be blinded and stunned.
  • Jurassic Era: Dinosaurs will chase after Penny, and serve as destructible platforms for players to strike down.
  • The 60's Beach: Penny becomes a makeshift boat where both sides of the time machine are essentially a boat.
Crazy Dave will always be seen in the driver's seat trying to work it out, even though the player's Crazy Dave was selected for battle. You're probably wondering, how can that be possible? This is a time travel stage, my guy, I ain't gotta explain **** lol.

Came here to submit a stage but this is basically just what I was going to do, so instead I'll just throw my weight behind this submission

I know this is off topic, but when do we bring back stages from earlier Smash Bros games?

Also I’m sorry for not posting often, but I’m at my campground, where the data is limited.

We've already brought back Meta Crystal, Pac-Maze, and I believe Pokefloats as well. There's still more though, so there might be a future job for it.

Hi everyone!

The Leadership Team is busy putting together our upcoming Crazy Dave Gimmick write-up and, for those who may forgot, this one is similar to what we saw previously for Ultimate DLC so you can expect a rather unique gimmick. This is especially true given just how involved Plants vs Zombies is!

While we wait, we can commence voting for our upcoming Plants vs Zombies stage! We had two submissions based on the House so I clumped those together and we will decide which way to go should it win.

Here are your submissions:

Viridi: GASP! Oh. My. Gosh! That's Crazy Dave! Otherwise known as Crazy Dave!

:ultpit:: Uhhh...who now?

Viridi: Only the most advanced botanical brain behind the Bloom & Doom Seed Company's plantlife arsenal! A pioneer of floral firepower! I can't believe he's actually here!

:ultpit:: Huh. Knowing you, I'm...actually not that surprised.

Viridi: Better watch out, Pit, he's got plants for days ready to knock you out the sky! He's got Peashooters that can shoot you from a distance, Wall-nuts to make sure nobody gets too close, Chompers to eat you alive, Cob Cannons to bombard you from anywhere on the map, AHHH, I COULD GUSH ALL DAY!

:ultpit:: Something tells me you wanna bag him for the Forces of Nature.

Viridi: Of course I d-I mean, why should I recruit a lowly, filthy human into my forces?!

I don’t have time to do it now but I had an interesting idea where the Classic mode has Dave fight against Steve Zombie alts with each round adding more and more. Each round also has a helper ally such as Mega Man to reference the Peashooter who just stands there and does the Mega buster shot. Each round adds a new ally such as Hero who does his Metal thing or Wii Fit Trainer who does the Sun Salutation.

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay but the Leadership Team would like to present the thread with the gimmick we came up with!

Crazy Dave Gimmick: Plants
As discussed before, Dave will bring a DLC-esque gameplay mechanic with him. As a result, we decided to try the best we can to accurately represent the gameplay of the first Plants vs. Zombies game. His gameplay will revolve around the types of plants on the stage - managing his defenses, upgrading them, and keeping his defenses intact. As such, all of his specials aside from his Up-Special would be tied to his Plant mechanic.

All types of plants listed and described in this post are tentative and are subject to change based on moveset submissions. Plants from both the first and second Plants vs. Zombies will be eligible for submission. Instant Use plants such as Cherry Bombs will be reserved for normal attacks.

1. Collecting Sun
Of course, every plant in Plants vs. Zombies needs sun and it is no different in Smash. Dave will passively gain increments of 25 sun over time, though he can accelerate this with certain types of plants. His current sun total will be displayed over his damage display. It will go up as time goes on and go down as Dave plants and upgrades plants. Plants present in Dave's moveset outside specials, such as in aerials, smash attacks, and grabs, will not cost sun. The maximum amount of sun that Dave can have at any given time is 1000, and it will reset to 250 every time Dave is KO'd. Crazy Dave will need this sun to plant... plants and without the proper amount of sun for some plants, he might not be able to keep his brains safe.

2. Selecting and Planting Plants
Like with Officer Howard before him, Crazy Dave makes his selection of defenses via inputting the Special Button in tandem with his Shield button. This means that neither will be able to make their selections in the air, though luckily both are rooted in ground based games so it works out in the end. Each of Dave's other specials aside from his Up-Special are tied to his plant mechanic and thus, he is able to select three types of plants, one per special via the Shield Special input. Every Dave on screen is able to have a maximum of three plants active on screen, one per Special input.

As for selecting plants, pressing the Shield Special input would pull up a menu above Dave himself. It would take the form of three bars - each reminiscent of the player's plant selection bar in the first Plants vs. Zombies game. The bars are vertically stacked on top of each other, with each one representing the types of plants per special. Of course, the bar would also be labelled with an indicator of what special that plant is tied to as to help guide new players, but they will all generally follow this pattern:

InputTypeExamples
Neutral SpecialDefensive and Sun Producing PlantsWall-nuts and Sunflowers
Side SpecialOffensive PlantsPeashooters and Cabbage-pults
Down SpecialTrapping and "Other"Spikeweeds and Potato Mines

The selected middle bar is the largest, while the other two are dimmed out and smaller. The player can then choose which menu they want to choose plants from by using the up and down directional inputs, moving the selected bar to the middle and enlarging it while shrinking and dimming out the previous selection. While the player is on the selected bar, they can use the left and right directional inputs to move their cursor over their chosen plant. To finish the plant selection process, the player must then input the shield special again. The plants the player has selected will be displayed in their damage display (see graphic) after every successful selection. These plants will then be planted whenever Crazy Dave inputs the special associated with that plant.

As mentioned before, the player can only have one plant of each special input on stage at a time. These plants can be attacked. Plants planted by Dave would have a limited amount of time on screen, after which they would disappear. This can be accelerated by having the plants attacked or using Dave's down tilt, the Shovel, which removes plants instantly. If Dave is KO'd, every plant belonging to him on screen will disappear. Dave starts out each match with the leftmost plant selected, so managing which plants to use at which time as well as the plants' health is crucial to using Dave effectively.

3. Upgrading Plants
Who is Dave in the original game? He runs his own shop named Crazy Dave's Twiddydinkies, where he sells useful things like tools and upgrades to plants. Who the heck upgrades plants? Dave, because he's craaaazy.

Inside that barely funny attempt at humor, we find that Dave is capable of upgrading plants, which is an risky, expensive maneuver that may pay off in the end. However, only several types of plants are able to be upgraded. These plants will be denoted with an icon next to their seed packet. When the player places down a plant, the damage display will update according to whether or not the plant is able to be upgraded. If it is not able to be upgraded, the seed packet will simply gray out until the plant disappears. If it is able to be upgraded, however, the seed packet will change to that of the upgraded plant. Once this occurs, the player can reinput that plant's special input next to the plant to upgrade it. For example, if a Repeater is on stage, Dave can input the side special next to it to turn it into a Gatling Pea. This costs sun of course, and usually a large amount of it. The seed packet will then gray out as normal after the plant has been upgraded.

As with regular plants, upgrades will be added based on submissions. However, these may possibly two separate plants that aren't related in the base Plants vs. Zombies game. For example, we can have the Peashooter upgrade into the Split Pea if so desired.

4. Closing Thoughts
That does it for Crazy Dave's gimmick! I hope everyone will be satisfied enough with it. We'll be starting plant (and full moveset submissions) later tomorrow (or today, time zone shenanigans are wacky), so please start thinking of which plants you feel would work in his moveset. To reiterate, there will be certain types of plants and these types will be tied to Dave's neutral, side, and down specials. We'll be accepting a good amount of plants, with plants from PvZ 1 and 2 being accepted, but no instant use plants will be accepted for his specials aside from his up special. Thanks for reading!

Moveset submissions are open for Crazy Dave!

We will begin adding moves to Crazy Dave while also submitting additional content. Moves includes normals, specials, throws, and Final Smashes. As per usual, we will be accepting various moves and then will compile them. Following that, the Leadership Team will select which ones to include into the moveset. We did this for both Dr. Eggman and Marin and we feel this this makes creating a moveset more focused on the community than just one person.

Please remember that the character does have the Plant Mechanic. You can read more about it above this post. The Neutral Special is for the Sunflower and Defense Oriented Plants, side is Shooting Plants, and Down is Trap Plants. In addition, players can use Sunlight to upgrade Plants to become stronger and powerful.

Submissions will consist of two parts due to the complexity of Dave’s moveset:
  • Plant Types
  • Everything Else
Plant Types are submissions solely dedicated to the Neutral, Side, and Down Specials and move be appropriately added into those categories. I.e. Peashooter can’t be a Down Special Plant. Only Side Special. Sunflower is integral to the character and has been automatically added to the Neutral Special so we don’t have to worry about that. When submitting a Plant, please provide its upgraded version if it can be applied.

Everything Else are his Normal Special moves plus the Up Special. These attacks can use anima to one found in the games as well as items, objects, or even other Plants! Please note that is we get a Peashooter for the Side Special plant and a Peashooter for the Side Smash, there is a good chance we will forgo the Side Smash version and just go with the Side Special. Plants that are included in the Normals might be less iconic or perhaps more unique plants instead of the Defense/Shoot/Trap. One possible idea for a Side Smash is the Bonk Choy.

Please note the Down Tilt has been taken which is Shovel. This will remove any active plants on the stage.

I’ll be busy all day but feel free to ping one of the leadership members if you have any questions.

Side Special Plant:

Kernel-pult (100 Sun):
When planting this guy, the Kernel-pult will throw nuggets of corn the size of Pikmin at opponents, dealing a measly 6% damage per kernel and deals hitstun. However, there's a 25% chance that they will launch a large block of butter if all things that deals double the damage, and inflicts the Butter effect, which is essentially a stun.

Crazy Dave can spend 500 Sun to upgrade the Kernel-pult into this:
1629122972176.png

This is the Cob Cannon, a massive plant that took 2 spaces in the original game. Crazy Dave can hold Side B while a Cob Cannon has corn in its husk to launch a corn missile at his location. The corn missile will explode into a massive amount of popcorn and deal a total of 32% damage and explosive knockback, enough to kill Bowser at 95%. However, just like in PvZ, Crazy Dave has to wait about 30 seconds before the Cob Cannon readies another missile.

Down Special Plant:
1629123401661.png

Spikeweed:
The Spikeweed was a plant that dealt damage to zombies that walked on it. In Smash, the Spikeweed will raiss it's spikes and deal 3% non-flinching damage per second for the entire time they're standing on it before it slinks back down into the ground. Spikeweed is essentially a plant often used for pressure, as it's really fast and does some decent damage to boot, but its range makes it so it can only hit opponents standing on the ground, much like how it works in PvZ.

The Spikeweed was a plant that dealt damage to zombies that walked on it. In Smash, Crazy Dave will scoop a bit of the ground from under him and cause a Spikeweed to rise from the ground, raising it's spikes and dealing 7% damage and low knockback before it slinks back down into the ground. D-tilt is essentially your combo-starter, as it's really fast and does some decent damage to boot, but its range makes it so it can only hit opponents standing on the ground, much like how it works in PvZ.
I think the one issue with Crazy Dave the leadership had was allowing for more than one Plant per special on the stage. While this makes sense in PvZ, it’s a bit broken and cumbersome in Smash. That’s why we limited it to one plant per special that can be used at one time so basically three total can be used at one time. When upgrading a plant, Sun must be used which generates automatically or can get a boost thanks to the Sunflower. So, while it works within PvZ, upgrading the Kernal-pult would require Sun rather than having two Kernal-pults at one time. In addition, I’m not sure about the holding down special input as mentioned in the post as I thought we were gearing towards and automatic turret mode but Krookodilian Krookodilian and @airConditioner can provide better explanation on that.

Side Special: Peashooter

Peashooter1.png

The obvious one! When a Peashooter is planted, they will routinely fire peas at the closest enemy player/assist trophy/damageable hazard in an interval determined by the staff team within medium range. Whichever way Crazy Dave was facing when he planted them will be the direction it will fire too. The Peashooter will automatically aim either up or down depending on where the closest player is but only slightly and in a general direction. They will not have auto aim.

Their peas are also fairly weak doing minimal damage and flinching but this will put some pressure on the opponent and can lead into combos from Crazy Dave.

Upgrade: Split Pea

Split_Pea1.png

I know I know, this isn't an actual upgrade for the Peashooter but to streamline things, I'd suggest making the Split Pea to be an upgrade for the Peashooter. The Split Pea will fire weaker shots behind it and has less of an angle when aiming but keeps pressure on both sides of the stage.

Down Tilt: Dig

Shovel2.png

Crazy Dave digs into the ground shooting some dirty upwards and onto the ground. The attack is the strongest when the shovel hitbox is out and the dirt projectile is drastically weaker. When used next to a plant, it will dig them up and remove them from the stage.

Down Air: Shovel Dive

Crazy Dave hops on his shovel and dives straight downwards. This attack functions similarly to Link's down air and lets him hop on enemies after the first hit connects. Perhaps a pseudo-reference to a certain other shovel user?

Tweaked it to just require sun. But if it's in automatic mode, I can remove the Cob Cannon if so desired.

Jab: Potted Prattle
Crazy Dave takes his pot and swipes forward with it. Inputting it’s again takes another returning swipe. Inputting it again delivers an overhead slam which inadvertently breaks the bottom which causes additional .80% for falling ceramic shards. Following this, Dave looks mortified only to pull out another pot.

Dash: Wheel Barrow
Crazy Dave pulls out the Wheel Barrow and runs forward; striking anyone with the barrow. It does high damage during the mid frame but less damage at the start up and ending frames. It is notable for having quite a long dash making it pretty useful but also particularly exploitable. The wheel barrow has superarmor at the front. It’s main use is being able to pick up any a nearby plant in its path. When this happens, that plant hitches a ride on the wheel barrow. The plant will be replanted wherever Dave stops after the ending Dash animations. In addition, Dave can cancel out of the attack with significant ending lag during the mid frames by performing any attack. This will replant the plant prematurely.

Side Smash: Bonk Choy
Crazy Dave pulls out Bonk Choy which winds up and delivers a powerful punch. Fully charging the attack delivers three powerful punches with the final one being the strongest.

The tweaked submission looks good! We'll only be including so many upgradeable plants so we can't guarantee this will make it to the final moveset, but thats the same for virtually every plant bar the peashooter lol.

Up Smash - Wasabi Whip
Crazy Dave pulls out the Wasabi Whip plant and winds up for a powerful lash, on full charge the plant swipe upward left to right for a total of 2 times That deal fire damage.

Grab - Bear Hug
Dave spread his arm forward drag any enemy close to him and give them a bone crushing hug, the pummel will be him occasionally tighten his affection.

Up Throw - Spring Bean
Just like Steve's Piston it lauches the opponent straight upward.

Forward Throw - Chad Guard
Similar role to the original to which he fling the enemy back or in this case forward at full force which resulted in 3 of his leaves shed down.

Down Throw - Squash
Like the namesake it squashes the enemy with its weight.

Up Special: Blover
1908680C-C101-4E83-B845-62D5C69860B9.png

Crazy Dave would take out a pot with a Blover that grew out of it. It would then spin its leaves, causing it to propel Crazy Dave upwards. It’s very similar to K. Rool’s Up Special, but the Blover can last longer than K. Rool’s propeller pack in exchange for not dealing as much damage. Once finished, the Blover would retreat back into its pot, causing Dave to go into free fall with a confused look on his face.

(A continuation of the previous submitted move)
If you charge the up special it turns into a Hurrikale, which lasts longer and can also briefly freeze opponents above Dave. Although said freezing lasts for a few brief seconds.

Alright, I'm gonna go all out because I'm just that craaazy!! And I guess we're going green.

Down Smash: Grave Buster

Grave_Buster1.png

Crazy Dave holds the Grave Buster above him and he slams it into the ground. It the proceeds to trickle its way into the ground. It's on the slower end of smash attacks but fitting to its original purpose, the Grave Buster will chomp down on shields and put a lot of pressure on them by dealing tons of shield damage. Additionally, when it buries itself into the ground slowly, its hitbox remains making it a perfect edgeguarding tool for players too happy to hold onto the ledge.

Forward Tilt: Bonk

A close range swing downwards with his pot hat.

Neutral Special: Hypno-shroom

Hypno-shroom1.png

When placed, the Hypno-shroom will sway from side to side in a trance. Any opponent that attacks the Hypno-shroom beware, they will let out a puff of smoke in defense that randomly gives the opponent a status effect to their detriment. They will be affected by one of the following:

  • Be put to sleep for 3 seconds.
  • Have their controls be inverted.
  • Be slowed down for 5 seconds.
  • Have a flower on their head.
  • Have their jump height be drastically lowered.

Down Special: Doom-shroom

Doom-shroom1.png

The annihilator of the undead, the Doom-shroom is the deadliest plant in all of Crazy Dave's arsenal but also the riskiest. When planted, the Doom-shroom will immediately slumber. Even when attacked, it will not budge to defend itself. However, if the down special button is used again with Doom-shroom in the slot, Crazy Dave will summon a Coffee Bean to wake up the sleeping sap. In this moment, the Doom-shroom's cap will expand and in roughly 2 seconds, it will EXPLODE! The explosion itself is roughlt double its widge and extends far above its height.

If anyone is caught in this explosion, it is a near KO sentence at low percentages and a guaranteed one starting around the 40% range. Being caught at the tail end of the explosion animation is still dangerous but it will not launch you as far. There are some caveats with using the Doom-shroom however. While its initial sun cost should be cheap, using the Coffee Bean to wake it up will cost a lot more sun.

Atop of that, the Doom-shroom may choose to wake up on its own at any time after 30 to 70 seconds have passed at random. This will consume sun as well and when the Doom-shroom explodes, it will not tell between friend or foe. Crazy Dave CAN be hurt by it just like a regular explosive. Its final caveat is that like in Plants vs. Zombies, it will leave a scourged area where it exploded. This will be visibly apparent by the area being covered with a burned looking black texture. No plants will ever be allowed to be planted in that area FOR THE REST OF THE GAME. Use this plant wisely or meet your own doom.

Neutral Special Plant:
1629137325414.png

Garlic:

This little guy is a small plant that's rancid enough to turn zombies away. In Smash, the Garlic will release smelly fumes every few seconds that forces opponents within a radius equivalent of a 50-MP Magic Burst to hard autoturn away from it, making it difficult for opponents to hit Crazy Dave while he's close by.

Side Smash:
1629137522102.png

Crazy Dave will begin revving up a lawnmower for a bit before releasing it, hitting anyone it runs into and persisting until it reaches the edge of the screen. On stages with water, this becomes a Pool Cleaner instead, and will persist upon water surfaces.

Some support plants

Neutral Special
Umbrella_Leaf_2.png

Umbrella Leaf
Acts as a sort of pseudo counter, Dave can pull this out to counter any in coming attack by causing the attacker to blast up upwards with the bouncy leaves, he can also place it down as a makeshift trampoline mine

Thyme_Warp2.png

Down Special
Thyme Warp
The Thyme Warp, if pulled out just before someone attacks, will cause the fighter to slow down ala witch time, can also be places on the ground to cause the first person to cross it to slow down considerably.

Oh yeah, I forgot to post some moveset ideas and all that junk.

Idle Pose: Crazy Dave would scratch his butt. It's difference from Wario's idle is that Dave would have a relieved look on his face.

Neutral Special: Sunflower (15 Sun)

A real no-brainer! The Sunflower would bop its head around from side-to-side. Sunflower would spawn 25 Sun on its own in 10 second intervals. But it can be upgraded...

Upgrade: Twin Sunflower (50 Sun)

The Twin Sunflower would behave exactly as its downgrade, but instead of spawning 25 Sun, it would spawn 50 Sun (25 per Sunflower, of course). However, it spawns Sun in 15 second intervals instead, but it is more durable (though not that much)
