Are you guys using the Revolution skin?
I couldn't see the tabs either (still can't) when I had the Revolution skin set.
When I changed it to Smash or Classic blue I could see the tabs, try that.

When I switched my forum skin from Revolution, I could see the tabs.

Yeah exactly, like what Barge mentioned before your post, and what I mentioned a few posts earlier, it seems as though internet explorer doesn't support that feature w/ the revolution skin.

Plus, wtf are you doing using internet explorer in the first place. Download firefox right now. It's ok, i'll wait.

I suggest that time spent on the boards is displayed somewhere so you (the user) can see it. If you can already, is there a way you can see how much time you have spent on the boards?

Hmm, wasn't sure about snapshots, but tried both since I've been home and both stages and snapshot uploading has been broken with the MLG buyout. We're still awaiting MLG server techs to get around to the upgrade. Might I suggest contacting JV about it? If he sees that people want it, he might go and give the tech guys a kick up the rear.

What is the point of referrals? Like, is there any gain from having them or not having them? Just curious why they were instituted and what the purpose is.

As long as it follows swf rules (ie no porn, not flaming someone, ect) that's fine.

Refferals are just part of the default forum software. I guess it gives some forums the options to reward people who bring in more people to the site, ect, but SWF's never really used em at all.

Suggestion: I think the members list should have a "search by user group" option so that all the Pokemon Researchers would be together or all the Debaters would be together. It would be a very convenient tool.

Okay so I"m confused

To my understanding to become a debater first you had to prove yourself in the proving grounds or something that, and if other debaters thought you were good you could get permanent status.

So I went to the User Panel and signed up for temp debaters.
Then I read the post Mic told me about, and It wasn't very specific. But it said something about signing up to become a debater and not having to worry about the temp debate group. But I haven't seen any response to request. So my question here I guess is am I doing something wrong or do I just have to be patient

Just be patient.

All members who want to be temp debaters have to be screened by one of the DH mods. Zero Beat's usually quick to accept people, but it's late, and it's friday night, so I'm pretty sure they're all enjoying themselves.

Eventually, you should get temporary debater access, you'll debate in the proving grounds, and if worthy, accepted into the DH.

Debaters can post in the debate hall, and Temps can only post in the Proving Grounds. That's how they eventually get selected to become a Debater, the debaters look over people who they think could be a great addition to the Debate Hall and choose people.

Why don't we have any more forum rewards any more. I think the last one we had on was in 2007 which was 2 years ago. I think it would be a great idea to have them again. The only thing is I would suggest some small changes to make it better, and more fair.

1. Lots of Rewards not just from every aspect of the forum but from non forum related things like.
-Tournaments
-character popularity
- Player skills
-Player Popularity
-Tournament Popularity
-Other none forum related rewards.

2. I not sure of this but would it be possible to make like a little sprite trophy for all the winners. The ones that appear by your name. And when you scroll over it it would say something like "2009 winner for best.."

3. Rewards for every room on smashboards.

4, Players can either ask to be nominated with a paper or be voted into the contest.

5. To expand the winners players may only win 5 times. Before they are uneglogble for any more rewards.

Those are just some suggestions, but I think this should happen again.

Are there any plans to introduce new Forum Skins any time soon? I think it would be cool to host a contest in which members can design/submit forum skin designs and the winner would get some sort of prize.

Needless to say, three skins (two blue, one black) are really not enough

This idea has been mentioned many times now. I'm interested to hear the response to that.

It's an idea that's been suggested a lot but developing a vB skin is relatively involved. It's not as simple as just making a mockup in Illustrator or Photoshop or whatever--I'd probably insist that all entries be submitted as full pages, and even then there's still a fair bit of work involved.

I like the idea and all, but it'd still be a fair bit of work to get the winning skin actually added to the boards, so that's the main barrier to doing something like that.
