Job #49: Submit a boss for any series that doesn't have one yet.
As in, any series that doesn't have a boss. So you could say one from a series that's represented, but doesn't have a boss,
or from a series that isn't represented yet.

King Kong

74766928-1E3E-4787-812A-A2C60730A5DA.png

He is one of the most iconic monsters in film. The boss will take place at the Empire State Building where King Kong will try and grab you. Also, he can throw punches as well. He would not work well as a fighter so boss is perfect for him. I was torn between him and Godzilla honestly for this job.

Grim Matchstick

The infamously difficult Cuphead boss - for the most part this battle functions the same as the original, just with the removal of parrying. To prevent you from just wallowing him due to his lack of hit animation and your increased mobility, Grim will flap his wing to send you flying backwards when you've performed enough consecutive hits - though this is scripted so you'll always land on a safe cloud.

Job 49:
Godzilla (Monsterverse) (Credit to the person who submitted him first)

1645989434768.png

Godzilla is one of Monsters from Monsterverse and he is lizard-looking monster that has a giant size and he fights sometimes evil or destroys cities to threaten mankind living in it.
Godzilla is really iconic character and one of most influential Kaijus that ever existed.
Also he is one of Famous Japanese movie characters that deserve to appear as Boss in Pop-Culture Clash.

The Fight takes place on flat rooftops of Tokyo city and his boss moveset looks like this:

  • Atomic Breath - He shoots out his laser from mouth that deals huge damage.
  • Scratch - He swipes his claws at Player, dealing normal damage.
  • Fire Breath - Occasionally, Godzilla breaths fire at player, giving his burn status
  • Stomp - Godzilla stomps and causes the stage to shake.
  • Bite - Godzilla bites the opponent.
  • Tail spin - He spins around and swipes his tail with brute force.
  • Building throw - Godzilla grabs the building and throws at Player, giving him insane damage. This is one of rarest attacks that he can do during boss battle.

He has also a huge amount of health as Boss Character. His moveset is based on his abilities and he has some original Moves that fit for a kaiju.

After defeating him, he starts to fall down and dies.

I nominate him, because he is very recognizable Japanes movie character and one of very popular Kaijus that ever existed.

Rancor (Star Wars)
1645917689190.png

The rancor is a pretty well known Star Wars monster first appearing in Return of the Jedi. You would fight him inside of the rancor pit, as it would charge at you with its claws and try to bite you. I think Star Wars makes sense to have a boss but most villains in Star Wars are probably too small to work so a monster like the rancor would be better.

I'm going to resubmit my weirdo submission from way earlier. Master Body Parts
Here's my weirdo submission:
A strange, almost parody version of Master Hand & Crazy Hand that summons other disembodied body parts. One of them looks like the Dreadful Flying Glove from Yellow Submarine [well, would you look at that], and the other looks like the Hamburger Helper Hand. They do fight by themselves sometimes, the Flying Glove jetting into people, the Helping Hand whacking them with a giant wooden spoon, and both can just punch you, but the body parts they summon will do as such.

Giant Lipstick Mouth: Resembles the one from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Will bite people like Wario, or lick them, like the Rolling Stones logo.
Two Eyes: Can take a few forms. The one on the back of the dollar, Bill Cipher [who could be his own boss, but still], the CBS logo, etc., but together, both will look around in multiple directions and shoot out laser beams.
Big Nose: This nose will appear and try to snort you up with a mighty wind vacuum from its nostrils, but will then sneeze and blow you out.
Monty Python Foot: Simply comes down and stomps on you.
Fiend Without A Face: A brain and spinal cord leaps towards you and wraps around you, racking up damage before eventually releasing you. Unless you dodge it or beat it up first as it hops around the stage.
Skeletons: Just generic skeletons. They will come in jetting right towards you like Luigi’s Green Missile, hitting you from both left and right, but will immediately fall apart after doing so.

Some of these are obscure or just made up. Luckily I didn’t pick completely inappropriate ones [though the mouth gets close]. But I wasn’t lying when I said it was weird.
Technically part of them is already represented (Yellow Submarine has a stage), but it's a weird composited thing of multiple different sentient body parts from throughout fiction, so I guess it still counts.

Icon of Sin (Doom)

The fight would start with the Icon of Sin mounted on the wall and summoning the less tough enemies from the Doom series. Fighters have to climb a series of platforms and attack the exposed bit in it's skull to deal damage. All while the demons it summons try to get in their way. After a certain amount of damage has been dealt, the wall holding it breaks open and the second phase begins. Not only will the Icon of Sin begin to summon much tougher demons, it will also start to do some of the attacks it does in Doom Eternal. Luckily attacking any part of it's body will deal damage for this phase.

Thanos
An iconic Marvel character and the villian of the highest growing films of all time. Thanos would be a powerful Brawler, but would also use the stones powers, such as slowing down the match with the time stone, changing the arena with the reality stone, powering himself up with the power stone, etc. The fight would take place on the planet Titan from Endgame.

Feels only right to include a good chunk of Minecraft content in a project like this, starting with the famous final boss. No extra frills here, just a mob that works quite the same as it does in Minecraft. It'll fly around the stage, attacking with its wings and breath. Hit the head for extra damage points!

Tankman from Newgrounds Tankman from Newgrounds Godzilla
Otoad64 Otoad64 Rancor (Star Wars)
AlRex AlRex Master Body Parts
Baysha Baysha Icon of Sin (DOOM)
DragonRobotKing26 DragonRobotKing26 Dio Brando (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)

My personal picks are

I think the first two are rather unique and are ones that really fit here as bosses, whereas I could see a few of these as actual playable characters or referenced in another way.

We got a tie of @Darkonedagger 's Thanos and AlteredBeast AlteredBeast 's King Kong for first place, and Tankman from Newgrounds Tankman from Newgrounds 's Godzilla for second place! This means I'll be adding three bosses shortly. This many big characters in one for the bosses does give me an idea for later, but that can wait for the moment, because it's time for another Character Submission job!

Job #50: Submit a strange character.
This is variable. What do I mean by that? Well, just one you wouldn’t expect in general to be in a fighting game. Whether it be by being unconventional in their shape or form (not humanoid, four-legged, a vehicle, transforming, etc.), not what one would normally deem fitting (non-combative or not from a fighting/power-levels-oriented series), relative obscurity, or any other thing you think would make a weird pick, you could do this here.

I’ll submit Jean Valjean from Les Misérables.
Monsieur_Madeleine_par_Gustave_Brion.jpg

Les Misérables is a famous novel written by Victor Hugo, later adapted to a stage musical (as well as a few other adaptations in other media), which takes place in France from 1915 to 1932, also the year when the “June Rebellion” took place. There are a good few characters with their own subplots, but Jean Valjean is the main character, pretty much. He is a paroled criminal trying to lead a normal life, but is consistently pursued by Inspector Javert.

Why am I placing basically a human from the 1800’s with no supernatural qualities into this? Well, for one, both the novel and the musical are incredibly successful and influential. Two, it is incredibly incongruous to have him be in a fighting game, but…there already is a Les Misérables fighting game. As you may or may not be aware, Arm Joe (a pun name based on the Japanese title of the book/play) exists, with various characters from the original work, including, of course, Jean himself, throwing down and pulling out Street Fighter-esque moves, as well as strange extrapolations of their characters. This really would fit into the modus operandi of this thread. We have a wide variety of iconic characters from various mediums to put into here, both fitting for a fighting game…and not. But that’s at least half the fun of it, I suppose.

Luxo Jr.

Mascot of the highly influential animation studio Pixar, Luxo Jr. serves as a "two-in-one" of sorts: a mascot for Pixar and a mascot for Luxo, the lamp company he was named after. He likes to hop around (usually targeting the letter I) and play with a ball, which could lead to moveset ideas. He has also on occasion been depicted with a wire and plug, which he could use in a whip-like fashion in combat.

Laurie L. (Green Day)

The Mascot of Green Day's album "Kerplunk!" This character has an infamous story on the sleeve of this album.

Green Day is a very famous band helping define the sound of the 90s and 2000s and they still make music to this day.

Laurie L. could have a move set referencing many of green days songs and albums.

Martian (War of the Worlds)
1646266709704.png

A bit of an odd one, the Martians from the War of the Worlds would definitely be a fitting pick stating the iconicity of the War of the Worlds and the iconic Martian Tripod. Owing to the lack of fighting ability, the Martian would be a ranged character, inside of a scaled down tripod. The tripod itself would be among the tallest characters in the game, towering over smaller characters, but would be no bigger than how tall Ridley is in Smash Ultimate at his full height. The Martians would attack using the arms of the tripod, as well as with other Martian weapons such as the Heat-Ray, Black Smoke, and Red Weed. (Which would be weaker than the ones seen in the novel due to the smaller size of the tripod) These ranged weapons make it so the Martian acts as a trapper/sniper type of character, as its large size makes it easier to take down up close and leaves it vulnerable around there.

The Cat in The Hat (Dr. Seuss)

Today is Dr. Seuss Day by the way so a perfect tribute.

4D10B1A3-9EEA-4482-A845-2DA76A941358.png

Why, the Cat in The Hat,everyone asks?
Well, it’s quite a simple task.
We don’t have a children’s literature character yet as a fighter.
Hopefully the cat makes that seem brighter.
He’s been everywhere in movies and TV.
WB is making a movie, under his esteem.
Everyone knows him, no doubt about that.
There was even a Seuss musical, perfect for the cat.
He’s got his inventions and his bat.
After all, he’s got tricks in his hat.
Now; if you excuse me, I must stop this rhyme!
After all, if I keep rhyming, it will be a crime!

The flawed protagonist of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Greg Heffley cheeses the competition. Greg Heffley could fight using various gags from the books, such as throwing eggs, using Rowley, and of course, the iconic Cheese Touch. Diary of a Wimpy Kid is one of the best selling children’s books of all time, with five movie adaptations, one of them coming out the day I posted this. Overall, Greg Heffley is very iconic and deserving of a spot.

Also, Rodrick as an AT would be awesome.
Resubbing Greg, he fits the prompt due to being an ordinary student.

Job #50: Little Baby’s Ice Cream Man (Little Baby’s Ice Cream)

This thing was the main commercial mascot for Little Baby’s Ice Cream. Little Baby’s Ice Cream was an ice cream company in Philadelphia, lasting from 2011-2019. These strange commercials got viral online for how creepy and disturbing they were. It’s not fully known what exactly this creature is, except for the fact it loves to eat Little Baby’s Ice Cream (even though it’s technically made out of it). The Little Baby’s Ice Cream Man could have it’s entire moveset based around it’s body. Imagine the Little Baby’s Ice Cream Man using parts of it’s body to attack. It could scoop out ice cream from it’s head to throw at fighters. It could even throw it’s entire head and limbs at fighters (instantly growing them back with melting ice cream). It could also wield ice cream spoons and ice cream cones (with mini versions of itself inside) as weapons. The closest thing I could possibly think of as an example would be a more kid-friendly version of Meat from Mortal Kombat, but it still wouldn’t be enough. It’s moveset could basically involve anything with ice cream.
