Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

So, wait, does Spawn Wave have inside information when he says he expects Incineroar is in and he doubts Geno and Banjo? Or is that just his gut feeling/opinion?

For the sake of comparison here's a version of the banner with all the characters on it as of E3 i think. Even though it should be the same background, the castle is farther towards the center of the stage than In Vaan's by the look of it. You can see pillars under Zelda's hand and the castle looks like it continues past the centerpoint

On here the castle seems to stop completely around where zelda's hand is on the other one. So these backgrounds are changing even between the E3 animation and the still vewrsion released to match it. Differences between the leak and the E3 animation would be expected in that case.
Hey, that cloud in Point D...

It should be behind Bowser Jr., but it's not, and the cloud next to it is by him.

No, he just gave his own inputs on things but everyone jumps to conclusions on this website so they can be the first to say “DUH I’m right!!”
What do these "own inputs" consist of? I keep reading on GameFAQS than vaanrose deconfirmed it alltogether.

I myself am questioning why there are so many edits, but then it also occurs to me that these leaks came from a video, no? Not to mention it’s rather blurry.

Either way, I get this creeping feeling that something is going to happen overnight. Regardless, we’re going to get to the bottom of all of this.

It’s only a matter of time!

Okay, so since people clearly misunderstood his stance on this leak because "oh, he still thinks Incineroar is in, no new information dumb insider", let me clarify this.

Spawn Wave is 50-50. He mainly mentioned Incineroar as an example with all the rumours and leaks mentioning him, but that wasn't where his qualms where at. It was more so about characters like Geno and Banjo-Kazooie, and with the legitimacy of the pictures. And if he straight up is firm about Incineroar in the game, we already have confirmation of another character we don't know. I don't get why people think he brought no new information when he was the ONLY insider who actually did that provided more hype with possible DLC confirmation.

What's interesting is the leak is missing at least one character, so it could be fake or timed for a certain release with certain reveals.
https://twitter.com/SpawnWaveMedia/status/1055135917114118144

He has his sources claiming there'll be a reveal at The Game Awards, most likely for DLC. He's been "guessing" Sora quite a bit in recent memory. With the streak of stuff he's been getting right, and now with Trine 4 announced, can you really say these things about Artsy Omni or Source Gaming? Or ANY insider?
So please, guys, can we not jump the gun?

I haven't seen a thread this big since when there was some kind of Pokemon rumors years ago on SPPF.

Speaking of Etika, I don't know if he does stuff on leaks, but I wonder how he would react to each of the characters in the leak if it were true, especially Banjo-Kazooie, Isaac, Geno and Mach Rider?
Probably with lots of OH MY GODs and curse words.

I mean hey, if Spawn Wave says Incineroar's in i'm inclined to trust him for totally non biased reasons.
I believe that as much as a 4chan text leak. :smirk:

At least Incineroar would approve of Nintendo using him as bait to weed out leakers.

Can’t play fair with the leakers if you wanna keep the characters a secret for as long as possible.

I'm seeing a lot of different backgrounds suddenly. Does this mean the leak is back on and Sakurai just keeps changing it for some reason?...

>tfw you never had that much stock in the speculated newcomers for this game and you're just in it for the ride.

The madness, the chaos, keep it up, guys! Definitely the most entertaining non-Direct day so far in this cycle.

When was that picture taken?
The E3 banner is the exact same thing, someone said it was taken at a LGPE press event?

So, next Smash direct is crazy no matter what. Spirits info and confirming or killing the leak, with at least 2 or 3 reveals IF the leak is fake. Oh boy

Well, just hopped on YouTube and this happened to be in my subscription feed, mostly where I’m subscribed to GameXplain and IGN, Smash Trailer and a Grinch clip right next to each other. *X-Files theme plays* :estatic:

I honestly believe that these being posted today were very intentional.
Yeah, Spawn Wave seems to feel this leak isn't real due to Incineroar not being in it.

If Incineroar turns out to be a bait character that's the biggest bamboozle Nintendo has done in a very long time
"YOU THOUGHT IT WAS INCENROAR, BUT IT WAS ME BANJO!"
With the amount of guests viewing the thread rn you’d think that footage leaked
Well if this leak is legit then its only a matter of time before someone posts footage imo.
So can someone just tell me what's going on here? Did vanroose deconfirm the leak?
Not completely. He raised some points on the battlefield art inconstiences, but that's a fair amount of points that can explain them.

Also holy **** is like the entire site in this thread?

I know you're reading this. Vote 2B.
So this is all looking to be extremely real..
The Chad Geno leak matches up with the leak the big companies have been upset about. It was posted by the same guy who posted the banner leak months beforehand, and it's been accurate thus far.
The Square Enix rep.
The circular banner in the banner leak used for displays...

papagenos papagenos having a reliable source confirming the leak and Banjo, and insisting Incineroar is still there... With the added possibility of an unknown character that isn't Incineroar or anyone else on the banner also being in Smash along with all those listed...

It's insane to think this is it. This might be our very own ESRB leak of Smash Bros. Ultimate.

It even matches up with Corocoro's 108 stage leak.

Nearly every theory everyone has had ends up wrong to a degree if this comes true, especially the box theory.

This game has been leaked since September 28th and we didn't even realize it.

To all of the Guests reading/visiting this thread: Hello!! Thank you so much for stopping by, even if it makes the page sorta slow, still! It's so cool to think there's so many people outside of the users that come and check out this very fast board and are intrigued by Smash leaks as much as we are!

Eh, I personally doubt we get anything more about this particular leak.

But I'd love to be proven wrong and actually get the definitive answers asap.

Interesting how his opinion has changed in the past few hours. Earlier today he sounded totally convinced this was fake.

I guess there are so many people here because the big video game news sites are now reporting the rumour.

Nintendo absolutely know by now.

Nah, Vaanrose is too levelheaded for that. He's got an eagle eye though, so what he did was point out some inconsistencies between the two mural background pictures.
