It'd be Tracer first.

Sombra's also pretty well known because of her ARG though.

Though Sombra and Mercy don't really feel like they'd fit into a fighter like Smash quite as well as Tracer, Genji, Reaper and D.Va would.

There was something I, and thankfully, another guy on reddit noticed about a way part of this was worded compared to what Sakurai said about Geno.

For Geno fans, this article seems to be a net positive for his inclusion, as the article says the K Rool Amiibo costume was a way to give him a short notice nod, almost verbatim to what Sakurai has said previously about the Geno Mii costume.

Given that Chrom was also given this treatment, as were the Inklings, and it seems decently likely Isabelle may as well, AND Skull Kid, who's signature likeness was a Mii headgear, I definitely wouldn't rule it out. I've never been too crazy for Super Mario RPG, but he'd be a very, very welcome addition!

When I first came to this site, Super Smash Bros for Wii U & Nintendo 3DS wouldn't be revealed for several months. My first roster featured Ninten, and I received a lot of backlash for the absurdity.

But, now that we finally got all the princesses, all the Awakening heroes, and an echo fighter of one of the original 12, I just know we GOTTA have Ninten. I just know Sakurai has to care and realize how important this is to EarthBound fans and knows we're expecting this because of the echo fighters. Ninten has been my number one newcomer request since Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

But, I wanna know what you guys think Ninten will be like. Will he look any different? Ness and Lucas seem to be inspired by their clay models and in game sprites, and with characters like Dark Pit, there may not be a need to give differentiate Ninten from Ness or give him a neckercheif like in the commercial for Mother. His clay model displays many unique facial features such as eye brows, pac-man eyes, rosy cheeks, and those little scratches or whatever they're called. So that combined with his different colors, hair, and hat position may be enough, and I'm totally okay with that. I'd probably prefer his design stay true to the clay model.

What differences will he take? EarthBound Beginnings does not feature the Yo-Yo (that debuted in EarthBound on SNES), so it's possible Ninten may also borrow down and up smashes from Lucas, similar to how Chrom borrows Ike's up special. PK Flash is not featured either, so it's possible that Hypnosis may take it's place, making opponents fall asleep, rather than launch them. Then there's also PK Beam, which is PSI ability unique to EarthBound Beginnings that may take the place of PK Fire, to demonstrate the unique features of the game. Finally, we could either have PK Starstorm with Ana and Teddy (Teddy probably just flexing because he can't use PSI) or Ninten could summon EVE, which may work as a clone of Zero Suit Samus's Final Smash.

There's also potential for unique taunts. Ninten could pull out his asthma inhaler or his ocarina.

Either way, I'd be disappointed on an extreme level if he's not included in this perfect oppurtunity as part of this "Ultimate" game. But, I can't see Dark Samus being the only echo between the original 12, and Ninten is just perfect for an echo fighter. So I really believe this has got to happen.

SMH, Samus should feel like an armored tank, not a metal balloon.

I love Samus's character design so its such a shame she never clicked with me in Smash Brothers. Maybe its because the only Metroud games I really enjoyed so far were Fusion and Samus Returns, but I see her as a high-speed action hero who bombards here enemy with nonstop attacks. Her janky moveset just never sat well with me.

Honestly Mega Man plays a lot more like I feel think Samus should play than she herself does. He just starts dropping those rapid fire pellets on me and I just get overwhelmed.

I've never played an Earthbound game in my life and I still want this really bad. My main worry is how they would make him look distinct from Ness. Maybe there's something I'm missing cause I'm in the dark surrounding the series but his official artwork is sooo close to how Ness looks. Is the scarf a canon thing? Or is that a fan redesign? I guess if anyone can pull it off it's Sakurai. This is supposed to be the ultimate smash so it feels appropriate that every Earthbound protagonist should be in it!

Granted we've only seen the Galacta Knight alt yet, which has the cracked mask like Dark Metaknight so I'm not really counting on it, but the prospect is interesting.

The reason Samus is floaty in Smash is because she's floaty in literally every Metroid sidescroller.

Even the original Metroid has floaty jumps.

Samus being floaty is actually one of the most incharacter things about the Smash incarnation.

That aside, what's one of the things Metroid fans love about Metroid? It's the mobility. Things like Space Jump and Speed Booster and Morph Ball. It's why Speedrunning is so popular for Metroid games.

Samus SHOULD NEVER feel like a tank.

About Ninten, I was thinking...

As a difference, what if he had PK Heal instead of PK Magnet?

When you hold Down+B, Ninten starts healing himself, the longer you do it, the stronger the effect gets. However, if you are hit while the effect is active, you take double damage. To add additional risk, there is a lot of endlag to the move (because being able to just heal yourself for free would be utterly broken).

In Modes where you can just not get into fights (Adventure Mode/Smash Run/All-Star), the move has a weaker effect (Adventure/SR) or doesn't work at all (All-Star) if you are not in active combat.

most of the characters with headgear have received verification of representation in ultimate already. while i really dont care about geno, the pattern is there. if you are going to use evidence that geno has more support then you have to extend that same reasoning to all the characters here that have not been deconfirmed. I find it funny that geno continues to be treated as the only sole and worthy conclusion to add in in many people's eyes. I attribute it more to the echo chamber effect than anything else. because outside of here and some smash youtube channels i don't see this guy requested. There are bigger and better RPG characters to add imo.

the more i think about it the less i like chrome's inclusion. the community is predictable and when and if we get another unique fire emblem dlc (lets say black knight that fits the heroes vs villains thing happening) they will lose it. While chrome having roy's moveset without the dumb mechanic attached is fun, ultimately chrome cannot recover, like at all. competitively he will vanish long term. even in serious casual play, no one wants to play a character that get hit with an item at mid percent and falls to his death.

The timeframe for the Earthbound Beginnings localization really helps him. I can't say I'm expecting him to get in but I wouldn't rule it out either.

Tracer is most likely, and my favorite because of her cheery and bubbly personality, then it's a tie for 2nd between D.VA, and Genji then Lucio for 3rd for me I would mind seeing a newcomer from Overwatch especially Tracer's accelerated, and rewinding time based abilities .

I was thinking about Hilda recently and I'd be kinda surprised if she wasn't an echo. Now's the perfect opportunity to add her in. Just change Zelda's colors and her face and bam, you've got Hilda

For the shiny Pokemon at least, I hear The Pokemon Company is pretty stingy about how they're implemented in Smash. Hence why Charizard had his purple shiny instead of his newer, black shiny in Smash 4.

I think there's a decent chance he could show up as a boss, and maybe Duon and Galleom as well, but I'm pretty certain Tabuu won't be the final boss again (though I suppose there's the chance of him being a secret super hard bonus boss).
