lol yeah. but sometimes it works well against falcons if you space from far away and then they think they're faster than they really are. and fox. . . i have mixed results with that. but marth is really gay from below.

btw, what is the deal with uthrow from marths? how to di at which % and are the utilts guaranteed? i rarely get hit by it but idk if it's just them being slow or if it's just not possible
Fox it's okay if they don't see it coming or they don't cc --> **** on it. Every good Fox does the latter.

Falcon is weird because Falcons tend to be stupid but I think being above him, without defensive options or priority, is generally a bad place to be. Even if it's cute, Sheik wins the matchup because of ultimate safety and defense. Why you'd want to compromise those strengths baffles me. Mixed results or not, I'd feel much better grounded or low to the ground.

can someone upload a ledgedash to ftilt video done perfectly? i have trouble believing that it can be done and have invin. at the tip of the ftilt. i know it's possible from what magus says, but i tried for like 2 hours and never got it to show flashing during it in all speeds of training mode

so what do you guys think of using back air as a forward ( facing) attack? im kind of playing around with it and it seems to work interestingly for edgeguards and combos
I could have sworn I heard of someone using this..........:lick:

I think its not bad btw, its fairly useful when you're hitting a firefox really close to the stage. And you're trying not to let them tech into the wall.

only way to get it off your mind is to leave the gamecube at your parents house and practice random tech on the holidays when u have nothing else to do but eat :)

So I decided I want to play this character. I've got a strange attraction to sheik, it just feels like the proper way to express my playstyle. Also, I have Chad, the pika, in my p4 pool, and I hear the matchup's good. any tips on it?

CG him.

And CC everything into grab.

Don't try to CC his upair and don't depend on needle grab tricks. Pika's pretty fast and small.

When I think of more i"ll tell you lawl

Ok my friend Seig and I keep going back and forth on whos main is better. His peach is now beating my sheik quite a bit. I think i need some more out of grab options. Im starting to see why Amsah says peach>sheik.

I'm giving sheik a shot at replacing my main. My win/loss ratio is only slightly worse than my samus because of 2 reasons.

1: I don't know what works as well against certain characters.

Example: what to do against fox/falco at low percent. I grab, and that's fun and all. But they're so ****in quick that they can punish even after getting hit by a downsmash. And especially if I miss a grab. What's the best option for low %s. Any thing else I do besides grab they CC to gay ****, or camp.

2: Stage selection

Where do I take Fox/Falco/and Falcon for CP. On big stages they can camp and be gay, on small stages they can combo and be gay. And kill me at early %'s. I think I need janky stages or something, but IDK which is best.

Help me out pretty please.

1. http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=255992

2. I'd take Fox to Kongo 64 for the hella high ceiling. Falco, I like FD since he can't use the platforms to help him combo. Learning to powershield lasers will help you get through his camping. The ducking powershield method is pretty good too if you're not consistent and he's camping really hard.

I like Dreamland for Falcon, but it's my favorite stage in general, so idk how good of a CP it really is for him. The blast zones are definitely favorable though since knees won't be killing you at like 40%. I don't find giving him room to run around is as scary as bad blast zones, especially on a stage with platforms.

Yeah Dreamland is just my personal preference since I'm most comfortable there.

Yoshi's would be best for limiting his movement, but you also have to deal with dying at low %'s. Battlefield would be good for making his already bad recovery even worse without affecting your recovery much, it doesn't have bad blast zones, and it's not like FD or Dreamland large. Floats could work too if you stayed away from the sides once you reach mid%.

Don't go to FD or Brinstar for sure.

DO NOT TAKE FALCO TO FD. that is a mistake. if he's any good at all youll be laser locked and pillared b4 you know it. Falcos best stage is FD. TAKE THE SPACIES TO BRINSTAR!

So a question on recovery. When im hit very far off the stage I usually burn my jump to help cancel the momentum and set my fall at a more favorable angle. I know some characters hold onto their jump (like marth), is sheik supposed to do the same?

heres another one... what do you guys think about tech chasing falco at low percents with uthrows. It seemed to be working unusually well (the tech comes later and i think its easier to chase). was his DI just bad or something?

1) If by this you mean what to do against spacies basically, you want to do stuff that gets you a grab. Then if they're at low percent keep tech chasing till around 50%. Then go for dash attacks/dsmash to knock them off the edge.

2) For Fox/Falco its widely stage preference. They generally tend to have an advantage on you no matter what stage you choose. I personally pick battlefield because I love the stage and also the edges allow you to shove spacies under the stage which is nice. I wouldn't take either to Stadium at all.

I also avoid taking Fox to Yoshi's Story and Falco to FD. Its not a death stage but they tend to do very well there.

For falcon small stages help you out, so vs Falcon pick Yoshi's Story or FoD. Or a stage you're comfortable on of course.

Lately if this happens to me I've been turning into Zelda then using my jump, then transforming again. It seems to help, it could just be me though *shrugs*

Tech chasing with upthrow is okay, try to use it for platform chases. I think pretty early falco/fox can both jump out of the upthrow before they hit the ground.
